I find your English quite understandable. Thank you for your instruction. What others miss in their videos is how to prepare the vinyl before painting, and yours covered that topic. It will help me get started on my new reborn kit sooner.🙂
I am going to enjoy working with you. I think you explain things so simple. I want to thank you for taking the time to help us. I can’t wait to get started.
That was so helpful! Thank you for taking the time and energy to make the video in English- you did a great job! Your tutorial was thorough, and your speech was articulate and easily understood.
Thank You so much for the video. I have learned more from it than all the other ones I've seen. I looking forward to seeing your other videos. I will certainly subscribe. Also, your English was great. 😊 I appreciate you.
I’ve watched many many many tutorials in my day… yours are thorough and you don’t hold back what many do- like color mixing tips. I appreciate and applaud your artistry, your pedagogy and your selflessness in sharing your talent and experience. Thank you so so much. What you have done here is highly valuable. Blessings on your life ❤️❤️❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Hi Adriana The essential are red (any, but I like Pyrolle), blue (any, but I like Ultramarine), yellow (Diarylide), burnt umber or raw umber, white or Titan buff. You can add Sapgreen, Dioxazine purple, raw sienna or yellow ochre, Teal, Quinacridone Crimson. And really, any color you would like !
May ask weather you put eyes on a reborn before paintings or after ? And will the varnish be cracked after the painting if we bend the vinyl to pit the eyes ini? Thankuuu
Im not quite done with this first video, and I just have to say THANK YOU!!! Im working on my first doll, having an issue with streaking and odd patchiness and knew it was likely an issue of paint translucency and mix, so I went in search of videos to explain the process. I watched 8 "Reborning with Acrylic" videos and series of videos and rewatched all my "paid for" reborning painting tutorials, and couldnt quite find what I needed after days of effort. Your one short video showed me exactly what I needed, and taught me more about the actual composition of those watery layers, and how to ensure they bind well, and build to a lifelike finish than all the others combined! So, seriously... thanks so much for the thorough explaination. I've got Golden paints in my Amazon cart, and will try the Primary method going forward... makes so much more sense than buying 15 different mottling and flesh tones. Cant wait to check out your other content! And PS.... your English is fantastic, and much, much better than my French! Decades after school, and all I can remember of my French classes are names of school supplies, and the first few bars of the French National anthem. ;)
Thank you so much! I am glad that my video could help you! Getting the right consistency with acrylic can be tricky, it takes some practice to get the right ratio of paint, medium and water. Mixing our own color and using primary colors gives us more control over the results we want to achieve. You can thanks RU-vid for teaching me how to speak english 😄
@@leabellenurserie hah! So wild to learn English from RU-vid! Clever you! Your videos have already helped me so much! I've had MUCH more luck using the Golden Fluid Matte Medium and Golden Satin Glazing liquid as mediums than the RebornFX mediums I was using before. I'm gradually replacing my paints with Golden as well Still experimenting with Primary color method, and hope to be using it exclusively by my next doll. Huge thank you, again!!
you are right when you say we shouldn't put more than 25% water. I use airbrush medium to thin my acrylic paint. I teach painting but this will be my first reborn baby!
You just need to apply it first before painting. When you're done, you use a varnish. You can add a layer of primer during painting if the kit has a lot of defects, has trouble to take paint or if the paint is beading.
Sorry for the late reply, I didn't get notifications for your comment. I don't really know the exact answer, but I think it can affect the curing time of the paint on vinyl and with silicone it will definitely not cure.
Hi ! I sadly lost some videos when painting this kit. I have done two other complete tuto in english, I suggest that you follow the "Blinkin" one, or "Sweetie" .
Medium is very important to keep the paint integrity. If you only use water, the pigments of the paint can break (not enough binders). It will result in fading of the paint and less adhesion to the vinyl. When I started reborning I only used water and had so much trouble! Medium changed the game!
You wait until it's dry to the touch. Don't do more than 6-8 layers before letting dry for a few hours. Let dry for at least 3 days (a week is better) before varnishing.
@@leabellenurserie Thank you sooooo very much.I needed this information very badly cause I am just starting with painting.Thank you for your help and for all videos you have made.Merci beaucoup.:)
I use isopropyl alcohol 90% or 99%, and sometimes acetone if the paint is very old or thick. Be careful with acetone as it can melt vinyl if left on it too long. It's to use in last ressort.
This has been amazing! I've watched a lot of tutorials but you've explained things so well! thank you so much I have gained a lot from your tutorial! ps. your English is brilliant!!
@@leabellenurserie is it the medium that allows the air dry paint to stick to the vynil? Some ppl use folkart art glass and tile, but it's very hard to find in the uk.... so I wondered if I could substitute it with that one mentioned..... thanks for your help 🥰🥰😙😙
You're video has been helpful but to clarify, sorry I'm sure you said it just verifying. As a Primer to make paint stick to vinyl reborn what do you use? Also, can any acrylic paint be used or is it a certain brand? I am new to reborning & would appreciate your assistance. Most ppl are using Genesis Heat Set Paints but I prefer Air Dry Acrylic but want to make sure I'm getting the correct acrylic paint. Thanks again ☺️
Hi ! I prefer RebornFX primer, sold by MacPherson. Some brand of paint has their primer too, like Golden. The medium can be used as a primer too. Any brand of paint that is artist quality can do, like Golden, Liquitex, JoSonjas, etc. Avoid craft paint, they are not enough pigmented and can fade over time. A lot of artists uses airdry or switch to airdry, it's becoming more and more popular. Have fun !
You mean mod Podge? No, it's not suitable for using as a medium. Preferably use a medium with binders in it (it's often indicate on the label) like Golden medium. Liquitex or JoSonjas are often used, and all the reborn premixed painted have their own.
Hello, thank you for making this video and sharing! You mentioned that you stripped this kit. With air dry paints, how do you strip it? Can you strip even after it was sealed?
I strip with 99%alchool. You can strip at any stage, but the sooner the easier. I have made a video about stripping kits, that will give you an idea on how I proceed !
I know some artists who had done it. It's only possible for the washes and maybe the blushing, as it would be impossible to get a decent mottling and do creases. There's a risk of marks/pooling, but if you are careful it's certainly worth a try.
@@leabellenurserie… I was thinking just for even distribution of paint… maybe for primer and very translucent washes as you say … sort of like spray then pounce.
You have to look on a color wheel and choose the color opposite to the one you want to correct. For exemple the opposite of yellow is purple. Mint would be more for red.
@@leabellenurserie Thank you so much.I have put on my reborn to layers of purple by now but it still is orangy-yellow.Should I continue in laying purple colour ?
You should try put more layers until you get where you want, just be careful to dilute them enough. You can try adding a bit of white on your mix to avoid the kit going too dark.
@@leabellenurserie I will do how what you told me.Thank you so very much that you are kind enough to help me.You are so goodhearted.Thank you soooooo much. :*
Leabelle, sorry to bother you again. I’m having trouble with my reborn being too sticky. Do you think it’s necessary to use a primer at all?? Would the acrylic work fine without a primer?
It's always better to use a primer. Different brand and also your climate change the adhesion and stickiness. You may want to experiment. I find that Golden products and Ultimate Fusion are the less sticky for me.
