Hi, After cutting the foam pieces you used some spackle. What kind of spackle is it? Is it similar to drywall ones or is it another kind? I'm a beginner in this area and I am intend to make some diorama rocks here in Brazil. If you could help me with this tip I would be glad of that. Have a nice day. Regards, Rangel.
Hello, Very good idea to make a diorama, these are plates that work very well. I use fixing putty, this is a special glue for sterodur or styrofoam (extruded polystyrene) plate . But you can also glue plates with white wood glue, which will be much cheaper than the fixing putty I use. yes it is a style of plate for making drywall. If you have any other questions do not hesitate, it will be a pleasure for me to help you 😊👍 Sorry for the late reply, I have some computer problems 😊
Thank you very much Valdir . To make the mountain I use polyurethane panel to insulate the ceilings or the floors of houses, this is bought in DIY stores and really cheap. To cover the mountain I use coated with water , but you can use modeling plaster.
Yes I think for trains it is ideal, with this material it is easy to make mountains and also tunnels, and even a small trail for mini crawler. Thank you very much for your great comment... :-)
The glue I use is glue putty. You can buy it in DIY stores. You have to press the sides that you glue for 20 seconds. Optimal resistance is obtained after 48 hours, but this does not prevent the work 😊👍
Hi , I use an adhesive mastic, which sticks the sterodur plates really well, it sets quickly and dries very quickly, this mastic can be bought in DIY stores 😊👍
It is plaster that is used for house fronts, (that I had in my garage 😊) but you can also use plaster called "Paris" twhat will be better I think. He advantage of plaster of paris is that it is very thin, it does not there is no thickness limit, it is also excellent for making castings and you have ten to fifteen minutes to use it. So use each time in small quantities 😊
I tried with a spray glue bomb, but I find that it does not stick the styrofoam enough, and above all I put this fake rock outside in my garden, so I needed a glue that is resistant to bad weather 😊
I use it for most auto use headliners and speaker stuff. Most don't realize you have to spray both sides of pieces you plan to stick together. But understandable about weather. I live in n. Mich. Even from sw Florida. Heat unsticks 3m unless you let dry in cool temperatures for cpl days
These are panels of extruded polystyrene Styrodur, it is used to isolate the house. The advantage is that it is cheap and easy to work. Thanks for the compliment Vincent 😊👍
Great job but it would be easier to watch if you were talking about what your doing and not miming I'm not sure if it's just me but although I love these type of vids I tend to skip them when people mime I find it really annoying, if you find it awkward try writing down what you want to say like a small script relax and have a bit of fun with it and don't take any offence of my remarks your very good at what you do.
I agree with you, it's about it would be easier to listen, but I do not speak English at all, so for me it was easier for me to subtitle the video, I would have worked a little more at school, lol . Do not worry I will not get offended, the criticism is always good that allows to question this, especially when it is said nicely . Thanks for your good comment .
This is found in DIY stores, it's foam to insulate roofs home, plus it is really cheap. Thank you for your message and have watched my video justin... :-)
