Thank you for making this video! UPDATE: Because of you and this video I've just brought back to life one of my four "broken" A470s and A430s! I wouldn't have had the knowledge of the internal workings without this video. This first one was completely frozen by dried paint. Caused by the well known issue of leaking paint inside the body. Now that it's working again, I'll try to chase down the reason it leaked. I'm looking forward to fixing the remaining ones. If I can get them all back to working condition they'll join my current working A470 in the tool box. I'm glad I didn't throw them away 20-years ago.

I'm so glad to hear that 😊 I also had similar problems with my first Aztek and I had to do some research to find out how to solve it. This video was made with people with the same issue on my mind, so it's easier to have all the info at once. Cheers!

Thank you for your words, mate. I barely could find any tutorials myself, so I thought it would be useful to make one. It's a shame it's a discontinued product now and no spares left so we'll have to take care if them the best way possible.

I just picked one of these up on ebay with the wooden case and a bunch of nozzles. It is so easy to clean it is crazy. Its a shame they don't make them anymore..

Indeed. Hopefully, someone will make aftermarket nozzles some time.

Thank you. I am hoping to keep my Aztek working well thanks to your guide. Especially since they quit making them, and you can't otherwise get them serviced now as far as I know. Thank you again.

Interesting. Never seen them broken down like that on a video before. Was just about to clean some nozzles but will have to try cleaning the interior as well now!

Hi, are the internal parts in all the 3 brushes identical? The black body brush is different as it doesn’t jave the roller, but what i need to know is whether the bracket connected to the trigger is plastic or metal. Are the internal parts of the grey resin bush and the metallic brush identical? Would be nice to see the black brush opened. Even an image would help. Thank you.

Hi! Thanks for your comment. Indeed, the black body brush and the rest with the roller only have that difference. That roller is connected to a threaded rod that pulls the trigger backwards or forwards so you turn your double action brush into a single action. The black brush just has a slot where you fix the mechanism and the double action system is fixed. Every moving part inside those airbrushes (the A series) is plastic. You can modify those pulling links with steel wire.

I still love these airbrushes despite owning Iwatas

I was just about to look for them... I also own Iwata. This is a design that's intriguing. Seems more complicated than the standard double action brush.
@Jeff-cv4qn
@Jeff-cv4qn Год назад
@@emilcost8613 There so easy to use and clean I only use them in single action mode! I only bought A470 models and I have 5 of them all still perfect after 15 years. I` ve never had the need to open the bodies like this. Whoever designed this system was a genius, don`t understand why its not manufactured today, lifetime warranty was a downfall stupid idea nothing lasts forever and people took advantage of it.
@sedneyscalegarage
@sedneyscalegarage Год назад
Probably, people stopped using them as it's not really understood. I'd bet that over 95% of the issues were due to poor maintenance. Also, as everything else, claims are louder than good words and they are widely spread. Thus, there's people talking trash about Aztek without even use them once.

Hey man I have the rubber one but i forgot to clean acrylic paint and leave everything there for like 2 days and now it only takes out air and makes bubbles in the paint container how do I clean it out?
@sedneyscalegarage
@sedneyscalegarage Год назад
If it's acrylic, it should be quite easy. The problem is, probably, that paint dried on the inner shaft and isn't letting it move. If you have airbrush cleaner, try to dip the front of the airbrush in it without any nozzle on and then use a cotton bud or any fine brush to take the residue out of it. I would suggest you to invest in an ultrasonic cleaner. They are not very expensive and will make a big difference and will not take too much time to clean the airbrush.

the metal pin on the inside of the aztek 470 has jammed on my airbrush, is it possible to fix it or is my airbrush beyond use now?
@sedneyscalegarage
@sedneyscalegarage Год назад
Just take the airbrush apart and pull it out. If it doesn't come off, soak the front part in some thinner for the paint to soften. Then, you will be able to pull it out
@jimi71smw
@jimi71smw Год назад
@@sedneyscalegarage i was thinking of using some "Mr muscle oven de-greaser" as it's good for removing acrylic paint from kits and might work better than the airbrush thinner....what are your thoughts on this idea?
