Bowl Cozy
5 mm hook, cotton yarn, scissors, yarn needle.
Stitches used. Magic Circle
Sc single Crochet
Dc Double Crochet
Increase
Chain 4 or create a Magic Circle( skip to Dc 12)
Insert hook into 1st stitch sl stitch. Ch 3
This counts as 1st dbl crochet
Crochet 11 more DC for total of 12 slip stitch last stitch to first stitch.
Ch 3
Dc in same space as ch 3
2Dc in each stitch. 24 stitches sl st last st to first st.
Chain 3 DC in same space as ch 3
1 dc
2 dc
1 dc 2 dc keep doing this until the end. 36 stitches
Slip st last st to first st
Ch 3 dc in same space a ch 3.
1 dc, 1 dc , 2 dc follow this pattern until the end of row. Sl st last st to first st. 48 stitches
Ch 3 Dc in same space as ch 3
Dc,dc,dc,2dc(increase) Follow this pattern until the end of the round. 60 stitches.
Make 2 of these flat circles put wrong sides together sl st together.
Chain 3
Dc in same space Dc to end of row. 60 stitches
Sl st last stitch to firt st
Ch 1
Sc in same space. Sc to end of row Sl st last stitch to firt st. Do this for 4 rows.
SC 10 ch1 turn. This creates the handle.
Do this for 10 rows. Ch 1 leave long tail to sew the top of the handle (row 10) to the 1st row of single crochet. Row above Double Crochets. Tie off weave in ends.
From each side of handle count 20 stitches put a marker in each spot. There should be 10 stitches in between the markers. Attach yarn and Create Handle the same way as on the other side.
Leave long tail and sew top of handle (row 10) to 1st row of single crochet. Row above Double Crochets.
This bowl cozy can be microwaved for short periods of time. Up to 2 minutes. It is machine washable and can be put in the dryer.
