Hey Guys! Welcome to the long awaited video tutorial on how to make an outro for your videos here on RU-vid! Outros are a great way to expand your audience, and increase your views. With buttons to your twitter, facebook, Google+ and your previous videos, your viewers will be more likely to keep watching and connect with your channel! In this Tutorial on how to make an outro, I use Paint.NET to make a picture slate, in which we save as a .png and import into Sony Vegas to use in conjunction with PiP and background videos! You can use Photoshop instead of Paint.NET and After Effects, Sony Movie Studio, iMovie, Final Cut Pro, and others in place of Sony Vegas Pro. Make sure to tweet me your final outro so I can feature it in my next tutorial! I absolutely love watching all of your guys' wonderful submissions!

YOU CAN SAVE THE HUGE HASSLE OF MAKING THE SQUARES AND COOKIE HOLES. LOL - THAT DEFINITELY IS NOT NEEDED. Don't make the boxes and save it as a jpg. In you video editing program you put your jpg picture in and size the videos you want to add in the outro. Once you got a good sized down dimension you remember that size and make all 4 videos the same size. This eliminates weird cropping and resizing to fit your video perfectly in the box. When you put your annotations on use colored borders to give a nice colored border around your videos in your outro! Great video!

If anyone is/was having the problem like I was when you have to use the magic wand tool it doesn't let you because it says it's a "fill layer", just take the eraser or the magic eraser tool and just erase the boxes. If you screw up hold Ctrl+Z or Alt+Ctrl+Z to constantly redo. Great tutorial by the way dude. Thank you a bunch!

In 1920x1080 videos there are actually 2,073,600 pixels, so technically if you'd call every individual pixel a video, you would have potentially more than a million videos :D.

Thank you Theguyordie! Because of you I finally got myself a nice outro. Although I stopped following your steps at 9:20 and didn't make these boxes to cut out a part of the background. I simply cropped my videos and put them over the background image. But thanks again man, you're great!

It worked!! As long as you do everything correctly you will have an outro, if you don't believe me look at my most recent video and skip to the end. I had no education of making outros until I watched his video, thanks man!

This video was very helpful, i managed to do everything you said but there is one issue that's holding me back from using my outro and that is the clips i put in the boxes or cookie cut holes as you were describing them make my clips look like they have had a light effect added to them and makes them look faded, is there something i have done wrong?

If you are using Sony Vegas you do not need to save the file as a PNG. Sony Vegas will allow you to import native Photoshop files. Just remember that if you change the file it will Chang across all your projects. And that can actually be kinda cool.

When I place my video under the outro image, it's all good and it looks fine in Vegas. But when I render it, it moves so that it shows the black space? And doesn't cover the cookie cut?

Just wanting to help: A really good free video editing software is Wondershare Video Editor. Once (if) you download it, just look on RU-vid, "How to remove water mark on wondershare video editor". It should be very explicit. So yeah👍

Super helpful thanks a lot! However a note. You can get transparency with 24bit PNG using Photoshop it gives the option on save as web in the export options.

When I make the cutouts for the video, I use the magic wand to click the cutout and then when I move to the background and press delete, a white area shows up. I googled it and got no help, any advice would be appreciated!!

Help the magic wand wont select the inside of the rectangle on photoshop. I get the error message, could not use the magic wand because the target is a fill layer. How do I fix this? I used the straight rectangle tool with a thin boarder.

Hey there! This has been a super wonder tutorial and even helped someone like me who has never touched any sorta editing program before. I did run into one problem, however, and I tried googling but I'm not even entirely sure how to phrase it. When I go to put my videos underneath the transparent boxes there is always one box that for some reason doesn't show everything underneath. Half of it is black. I figured it was a transparency issue and remade my image several times, double checked to make sure the magic tool got everything, even switched around where I put my boxes but there is still one always one box that has this issue. Do you know what this might be?

How do you get the preview to be soo smooth in sony vegas? When I play my videos, the footage is soo jumoy and freezes making me have to guess if things are right, how do I fix this? If you dont know what I mean, I will create a private video showing the jumpingness/lag.
