Hi there! You can call me Pablo. Just like any of you, I've had problems with pedals. I simply couldn't face life with a trike and no pedals. So, I had to give my brain cells a good going-over to avoid paying € 200 for the gadget they sell over the Internet (wheel with freewheel pedals).
I hope everything was crystal clear and that I haven't forgotten anything, so that you can be equally successful.

Very good idea. Would you be able to do this and also mount a disc brake?? Also where can i get those bearing holders to modify my forks?? thanks

Great solution for a fun project. I think welding the cranks on is acceptable since the trike is not likely to get ridden for hundred of miles and need service to the hub. If you wanted to though, you could drill the axle on both sides and thread them to receive bolts to hold the cranks on.

If you don't want to weld the pedals on, you could drill a thin hole through the pedal and axel and put a pin through.

Not the bearings . the bearing HOLDERS that go on the forks that i cant find. As for the disc its not that expensive . a mechanical disk brake kit is around 30-40 euros. But is there a way to mount the disc on the other side . I know there is a way for it on the freewheel side.

To mount the pedals, you could drill a hole in the axel, to set a bolt, nut and washer inside the cavity in the pedal?

Wow, I have been over thinking a freewheel hub design. This is great, I will definitely apply your invention (modify it a little). And probably add a Brake disc bracket to your Invention as well.

Why not just a normal bike brake? Disk brakes are loads of work especially on a setup like this

Encantado de que te halla valido el video que hice. La pieza que dices, es inventada. No todos los piñones libres son iguales, hay unos milimetros mas grandes que otros. Por eso tuve que hacerme yo mismo la pieza de los dientes.

You could always drill and tap a hole on the shaft to hold the pedals on with a bolt.

bigchad007 Me lenguaje: Hola! Si, tu idea es buena, pero no es buena idea. El hierro del eje donde van los pedales, es un hierro blando, no es el mismo hierro que el pedalier original de los pedales. Sí hago tu idea, la poca fuerza que tiene el eje la rompería. (google traductor) Hello there! If your idea is good, but not good idea. Iron pedal shaft where they, is a soft iron, is not the same as the original iron pedal crankset. Yes I do your idea, the weakness of the axis the break.

Could you not use the real wheel from a bmx and find a way to turn that will pedals or is this way easier?

using a rear cassette allows pedals to stay stationary while the wheel moves some cases the legs can't hand it without.

hakatox he's saying why not use a rear wheel with the cassette still attached instead of attaching a cassette to a front wheel. We know how a cassette works. He just did more work than necessary.

Jafeth Valverde uf! pues habria uqe estudiar uqe tipos de soportes tienes los frenos de disco, y a partir de ahí pensar ideas! Yo no tengo dinero para disco, asi que... no podria hacer el invento...:S
