Pfew, that was out of my own comfort zone. Which made it in turn interesting. I particularly like the last two bits, that showed how chaotic elements really could fit into otherwise ‘structured’ musical patterns.
Hi Gary! I've just both Chaos and I have an issue with external clock sync. As soon as plug the jack of external clock the device get completely crazy. Do you know any way to "reset" the unity, maybe it's just a firmware issue. Thank you. Great useful video, anyway!
Hey Scaleno cheers - I did a firmware update before I even used it and not had external sync issues. I am guessing you have the rate control low or central?
Thanks a lot for this tutorial, really helpful! 🤟 While using an external clock signal, I’m unable to configure the trigger section to maintain a consistent clock signal on t2. If I do without external clock, t2 can send consistent triggers on t2. I put Jitter and Rate to 07:00 Clock, Bias to 12:00 and Bias mode to red. Could you please tell me how to achieve a consistent clock signal on t2?
Because of the camera distance and angle, I am finding it difficult to see how you are connecting all these modules and bringing one or another into the mix (then fade out). This aspect of modular I am having difficulty grasping. Not sure how you feel about doing beginner video's but I would appreciate something like that to help. Lost count of the amount of time and videos ive gone through to understand this. A lot of youtubers seem to assume everyone knows. Also, what kick drum, snare etc are you using. I am thinking of picking some up but not sure which. I have a 'HP TUNE' for my 182 Sequencer and know they do kick/snare/hi-hat modules. Any info would be appreciated. Sorry for the long post.
You could always look at Part One of this series where I talk through the. onnectivity - or many other tutorials where I slowly go through the patching (search on 'patch from scratch' on my channel, I talk about every single connection as I am doing it) - as for drums here I am using the lovely analog TipTop BD808 for kick and the useful two channel Erica Pico Drums for other things, although it can do kick and snare and 64 other drums itself (sample based) ... Cheers
Excellent Video Tutorial!🤗 I learned a lot about BRAINS & CHAOS (except what the 'y' jack on CHAOS does!🤔)... I own both units (in fact -those 2 are the ONLY 'Common Ground' our 2 Rigs have), & the Hook-Ups are a bit different, but NOW that I've seen THIS -I've gotten a few interesting patch & control ideas I'm lookin' 4ward 2 tryin'!😈... I ALSO own the Behringer 'ABACUS' as WELL! If U ever get One -I'd LUV 2C U do a video tutorial on THAT!🥰 Cheers!🍻 AEON13 🦋✨👽
Thanks Aeon - appreciate the comment and it gave you some ideas. Yes I haven't found a use for Y yet, which is a division of X2, so really an attentuated version of that ... also I didn't cover the sample in elements of chaos too, just the bits I need! - I believe Abacus is just a clone of Maths isn't it, so probably won't be adding that to this rig - my main modular has a lot of simple modulation and this berlin rack is meant to be even simpler!
