"Come to the edge, he said. They said: We are afraid. Come to the edge, he said. They came. He pushed them and they flew." Guillaume Apollinaire, 1880-1918
Thanks a lot for this tutorial, really helpful! 🤟 While using an external clock signal, I’m unable to configure the trigger section to maintain a consistent clock signal on t2. If I do without external clock, t2 can send consistent triggers on t2. I put Jitter and Rate to 07:00 Clock, Bias to 12:00 and Bias mode to red. Could you please tell me how to achieve a consistent clock signal on t2?
cbeers Phil - yes these sorts of pieces are super easy for me to do and of course trying to keep a little of ones own style in means it doesn't go all the way into EDM where everyone tends to sound the same, if you know what I mean!
mornin' Gary, missed live stream, watchin' now Monday morn' 8-30 UK, cool tones working together at about 22:00 in, in the 80's for my stringy stuff I had a Roland RS-09. Will have to watch this in bits, cos' normal life gets in the way :)
Wow. Sitting down in my studio with coffee this morning (after powering up my rack to let it worm up) Booting up my PC and be instantly memorized by this piece from the Synth Master. Thanks Gary for starting my day with a bucket full of inspiration. 😀😀😀
Hey Phil - thanks for that, not sure about 'master' but glad you got inspired by it ... finding I am using all my filters and modulation sources nowadays to keep the sounds interesting and evolving, so always learning ...
Cheers AWH - glad you liked some of it! I fly the drone usually while I am patching and at the end. There is a mode (Mastershots) on my drone that will do a variety of shots in 2 minutes, so I set a few of those going, at the end I will generally fly manually, holding the controller near the rack so it looks like i am still playing.
Glad you enjoyed it ST - yes the lake is my super easy spot to listen to the sounds of birds, water and wind, or in this particular case, machinery, workmen, trains and cars :) Cheers mate
Luckily where I live 1) my usual spots are many miles from another soul (see previous outdoor video) or 2) The folk up here have no idea what modular is or how expensive ... :)
Gary you ever hear of Hardware Jams on RU-vid and Facebook? We just joined the community, you would be a great addition if you so considered to join. However if not its fun to watch and listen. Anyhow this video great, love the tutorial/behind the scenes look. Sounds great!
Yup did a few about 4 years ago - found the thematic nature or each weeks jam quite limiting, I prefer to just do 'my' thing - but definitely a great community. Cheers
this is truly wonderful, thank you so much - along with Departure From The Northern Wasteland, to me Rubycon Part 1 is pretty much the pinnacle of Berlin perfection. thanks for all your Berlin videos, really great stuff.
Thanks for a great breakdown of your workflow. As someone new to modular it makes me realise that I’m still very much in the overwhelm stage. I have a good rounded setup in my view, but I don’t have a clearly defined workflow or treat my system is a discrete all-in-one synth. Feels like a long road ahead!
Thanks FS - yes this rack is a simple modular one and aimed at a very specific genre I suppose. I think my more sophisticated rack and likely yours, really requires some thinking about flow, even down to best placement of modules for patching relationships - in fact I am getting a little OCD over that, but it is definitely paying off now and speeds up my patch from scratch flow on that rack ... have fun!!
