Tutorial : organise your PSP apps and games using the category lite plugin v1.6 

So, I was able to organise all of my applications into folders. However, the folders dont have names on the PSP. Edit: OK now my PSP crashes whenever I acess any of the folders.

@@pspmav it definitely did! i forgot to mention it and yes i agree! i do almost the same thing for my other channel (Devsignerz) and believe it or not it's harder than editing the video itself!

😅 1 means that the plugin is enabled ( still needs to reset the vsh ) and 0 means that it's disabled ( so that it's required to manually enable it and then reset the vsh ) . But I always advice to check if it's enabled , manually

@@senorbonbon try rebooting the system. got some corrupted data cards but they went back to normal just like that after reseting.

UPDATE I FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT !!!!! ok first off that whole plugins folder with the categories lite and the VSH.txt needs to be in the internal memory card (same file structure as the external memory card but just a different location) for it to take effect in the PSP GO...I had it in my memory card like the PSP-1000,2000,3000 require but it doesnt work the same way as the PSP GO needs this on the 14GB internal memory for the options to even load on the PSPGo System Menu...oddly enough categories lite does show up on the Memory Stick and you can enable it but it won't work, hence why you have to move the app and VSH.txt to internal memory...also dont forget to change the VSH text to ef0:/seplugins/category_lite.prx 0, enable it in recovery, and reset VSH in recovery menu for it to all work... I am now loading up 300 gb of games to put it all to the test...wish me luck

It should be in a folder named "ISO" in the root of your PSP .

Did you make the CAT_Homebrew folder inside the PSP/GAME folder?

For system storage , the line inside the VSH.txt file should start with ef0 instead of ms0

Is there a problem only when using the folder mode ? Or is it still there in other modes as well ? Yes , you can merge homebrews and iso into one folder. Just give the 2 folders the same name , like" CAT_Name" . If you watch the video you could see me , making two folders called CAT_Comics and Novels inside the Iso folder and the psp/game folder and they appear as one single folder in my psp . @@pspmav yes i figured it out. it worked very easily. just added new folders on the sd card and it worked automatically. forever in debt for your software.

Well , there isn't any option to alphabetize the games using the plugin , but you could do it manually by copying each game in the alphabetical order one by one

@@pspmav well I hope someone made a plugin for sorting in alphabetical order as I have 50+ games on my psp and copying and pasting all them will be too much time consuming and data can get corrupt will doing it.

Double check what you've entered in the VSH.txt file , there might be spelling error

@@pspmav I literally copy-pasted it from description, put the file in subfolder and changed, put out and changed back, and nothing seems to work. I even took it to top, since redme file recomended it, but still nothing. Maybe I am just an idiot, but it doesn't seem working. OR I misread and it only works on 6.61, not 6.60, in which case I am still an idiot and wasted few hours on juggling files without any reason.

No need to worry , Category lite works perfectly on 6.61 lme 2.3 .

@@pspmav It worked! Interestingly, I didn't have to prefix the CAT_ and also just put the prx directly in seplugins without a subfolder. I seem lucky haha.

@@pspmav It looks a bit different in mine though. When I go to Game, the Memory Stick sub-item is gone and has been replaced by the folders I created. But I think I'm fine with that. 😊

have you figured it out? i cant find my eboot games because i didnt put them in any CAT file and idk how to do that

@@gingercatsz ok so i figured it out, you gotta make a CAT folder in the same play you put the eboots and you put them in there

I have one answer to all your questions , YES everything you guessed is correct , btw i'm using a temporary cfw too , 6.61 pro c2 :) you could disable the plugin if its not compatable , by just removing the line in the vsh.txt when in the original firmware

@@pspmav Thanks for answering :) I'm on 6.61 Pro-C I think. I love having OFW on full reboot just in case, it's always on standby anyway so it's not like I have to enable the CFW every time. Feels like 2009-10 when I got my first PSP, I'm very excited - it's been 8 years since I bricked that one :P

@@MegasXLR ha ha I also have the same opinion about having a temporary cfw . It will always act as a backup if some plugins decides to go haywire X D

No it won't display the games as usual , if the plugin is disabled , the games would show up as corrupted

Create a new text file and name it VSH

You don't need any plugins to create folders for video , music and pictures . You can just simply make folders inside the VIDEO folder and put the videos inside 😄

I didn't face any problem with making it work . It worked right out of the box . Why ?

@@pspmav It seems to only function properly on the lower firmware. Even the included readme will indicate it's incompatibility with anything above 3.XX. Perhaps you can provide a link or offer some guidance as to which version you have or how you went about running the conversion on 6.61 firmware.

@@pspmav As am I. Are you certain that you are not just playing the demo, however? Should you be doing so, it will auto load into gameplay and progress cannot be advanced beyond the initial screen.

Ofc you can. You only need a app on your device. For Android I use zArchiver. Ita free and you can do stuff easily. For putting files from phone to psp id rather use the original Data/Files App.

In the settings there's should be an option called "show uncategorised folders " enable it

Me respondo solo xD, pasaban 2 cosas, la primera es que el plugins de los cheats de psp/ps1 por alguna razon no dejaba iniciar retroarch y segundo, retroarch debe ir en PSP/GAME ,afuera de todas las carpetas agrupadas CT_etc etc, y en el psp ajustes de sistema debo activar para que se vean todas las carpetas incluidas las de sin categoria, ya con eso todo bien!! gracias

There might be a 6.60 compatible version available . The one in the video is for 6.61

Did you use ef0 instead of ms0 in the VSH.txt file?

Are you talking about fast recovery ? I could use some more information. Like which firmware are you using and other folders ok ?

Category lite works on both lme and Pro . I was using 6.61 Pro c2 at the time of making the video

@@pspmav yeah three files appear corrupted but I assume that's just Infinity and the PRO CFW files

Maybe you don't have it . Don't worry , just create a new text file and name it as VSH

@@pspmav I'm sorry, it's not games, it's the NesterJ and Handy emulators Also, the name of the folders I made on my memory stick (PSP Go) appears but, the folders on internal memory don't, I just see a blank space on top of the Free Space and the amount of free mbs I have
