Tutorial - Rekord trigger disassembly and polish 

I've been informed by many trustworthy experienced sources that disassembling and polishing the Rekord trigger as opposed to almost every other part of the gun actually has little to NO real benefits when weighed up against the high risk of creating damage or malfunction that incorrect treatment of the mechanisms could easily incur. Apparently the benefits even from a gun that has had the trigger reworked to the absolute highest possible standard with no damage has completely negligible returns on investment for those people from the performance difference (if any at all) that they noticed out from it. They all said they regretted doing the rekord trigger or having it done for them and for all their future air rifles they focused on every other part and simply made sure they had a great trigger system like the Rekord to come with it, to leave as is, bar a little gun-oil spray into its interlocking parts as an example but that'd be about it. Just to warn anyone who thinks this is anywhere near a 'well worth it' endeavour to pursue for your guns performance, even if you have all the money and time in the world. Good health to all!

Bought a BSA Buccaneer thinking it would have a good trigger unit but found out to late it has the Gamo trigger unit, I love the rifle and wasnt going to give up on it so I set out on a quest to improve the Gamo trigger and found your video on the record trigger as guidance, I wasn't going to just drop a GRT4 in and everything will be ok, I wanted more, I wanted a match grade trigger and with the info you provided I now have a Rifle with a match grade trigger that is as good as any Air Arms, FX and Weirauch unit, a very big thank you for this video!

The pins on mine looked to be swagged on both sides. Hoping one side of the other will give way easy or I'll probably send it out for a tune so I don't screw it up trying to hammer them out.

Your plastic background makes seeing your diagrams and work very difficult from the glare and at times entirely impossible. Very interesting topic but loses much with that glare.

Sorry but this looks to risky for me to try, the record unit is one of the best out there and short of proper lubrication I've never seen the need to fiddle with it.

how long is the spring right behind the adjustment screw. and also wire size if you don't mind. great video.

In this video ,you don't keep the trigger springs in shot ,i have watched this video a few times just to see if i can make out what you are doing but alas i cant tell what you do to fit the lock sear spring into place please redo your video of the trigger if you can

Good vid mate ..if I just wanted to swap the blade for a custom one do I just tap out the blade pin and replace it with the custom ?

Hi again, I've put my trigger back together but now it will not release the lock sear it will not spring back , what do i do . hope fully yours RME.

I was wondering if this polishing would work on a b3 air rifle?

I prefer "PEEK" for that work, Autosol is "to gritty" for my taste...

By swaged is that the same thing as peened?

would have been an interesting video if you would have taken the time to check your filming, you were out of shot in parts couldn't see what you were doing and the most annoying bit was your light shinning back off your plastic on the diagram
