I built this kit a while ago but was not satisfied with the way it came out. Heres a tutorial on how to strip the paint so we can start over.

Just tried this on a Power Rangers mini that I started painting recently, that turned out way too glossy than I intended. I used Citadel and Tamiya paints. It works.

After 5 hours, I physically had to remove games workshop black with a tooth brush to minimal effect, and Gundam pen gold barely comes off. Moving on to a jug of tamiya lacquer thinner tomorrow.

You might not see this considering it’s been 3 years. But great video man. Subscribed. One question does simple green remove topcoat and primer. I’m trying to redo a kit and not sure if it’ll work I used tamiya primer and enamel with a gloss mr. super clear coat.

I was removing paint from warhammer miniatures, and i can say it will strip 90% of the paint most the time. I had a hard time stripping primier, but after a few times of cleaning with a toothbrush, it came off eventually.

Do you know if this will work with bandai factory applied paint on runners? Not chome plating.

I used Tamiya spray primer, how can i get that off? I used simple green but it' not coming off. Should I leave the mini soaking in a sealed container with simple green for like a week? Plastic Mini by the way

I have yet to find anything that removes lacquer and wont destroy the plastic.

I’ve seen several videos use 90% Isopropyl Alcohol to remove Lacquer.

Haven’t tried it myself, but I’ve seen several videos use Easy Off Oven Cleaner. Just spray it on and leave it in a zip lock or small container.

Super late to this party. Simple Green and Purple Power will not touch Tamiya synthetic spray lacquer. I dunked my subject (Moebius Models 1/128 scale Flying Sub) in 91% isopropyl alcohol; 24 hours later, I could scrub the Tamiya rattlecan paint AND the primer off. YMMV.
