I didn't even think to click the magnifying glass. I guess I assumed it was just for seeing the transactions for that address. Now that I know what it's for, I'll be using it. Thanks for explaining that.
To clarify. At what point are ADA funds installed on Ledger when I send funds from the standard Yoroi wallet to the Yoroi wallet that is paired with the ledger device. Are the funds installed on Ledger when they appear in the Yoroi-Ledger wallet or is there still an additional step required?
To make this more clear... There are NO FUNDS (ADA) on your Ledger Wallet. Your ledger wallet merely acts as the private key. Once you see your ADA balance on Yoroi, you have received your funds. Your ledger device acts as the private key for Yoroi, meaning you can not send ADA without confirming on your ledger wallet first. You can receive ADA without the ledger wallet, but if you want to SEND ADA, you'll need to connect your ledger wallet.
@@christopherleonge1833 this is idiotic...why isn't it on Ledger Live? i.e. the only interface where I see what is on my Ledger? This tech is either light years from being usable by the general public or simply never will be, if crypto advances it will be through brokerages/custody providers, I doubt many more ledgers/cold storage devices will be sold in their current state
If I were anymore lost you'd need to send a search party. I already have a Yoroi with ADA in it. Not really grasping how to send ADA to Ledger S from existing Yoroi. Furthermore, if I am understanding comments I have read below correctly, if I do transfer the keys to the Ledger Nano S with Cardano App on it... then if I ever lose the Ledger I won't be able to access and send my ADA on Yoroi until I get a new ledger?
Why do we have to use a second app to access our ADA through Ledger Live? I'd feel much safer and more comfortable accessing funds simply using my ledger.
The Cardano team would have to work with Ledger exclusively. This way, they treat the Ledger as the private key. This method is just as safe. There is no ADA on your ledger device. Your ADA is stored on Yoroi. What makes Yoroi secure is that you can not send ADA without connecting your Ledger Wallet. So the only way to send ADA from Yoroi is if you connect your Ledger wallet and then confirm the transaction on your Ledger Wallet. This is the best and most efficient way Cardano can integrate it with Ledger and other hardware/cold wallets, without directly working with ledger or other hardware wallets like trezor. I hope that helps and makes sense.

Hi Sebastien, i have problem with yoroi shelly wallet using ledger wallet now. I reintall yoroi wallet . Now my Ada balance shows Zero. I had ada in my shelly wallet before. I have got also new public adresse. How can i access my previous adresse. Thanks on beforehand.
So let me get this straight... we don't actually transfer our funds into our ledger wallet? We just secure it with a private key? But isn't the point of having a ledger wallet to take our funds OUT and secure it onto and external wallet? Am so confused 🤔
Is it legit that it’s asking to export public key twice? for “Main Account” and “Byron Account #1” I’ve been setting up ledger nano x on Yoroi. Emurgo video on setting up shows only once of confirming public key. The video was made a year ago so I don’t know if it’s normal for the latest firmware 1.3.0.

Great Video. How do you know your ADA is on your ledger? I sent ADA from Binance to Yoroi. I used the magnifying glass to make sure the ledger ADA address matched the Yoroi address. How does one confirm that the ADA is safety added on your ledger?
Technically the ADA is not stored on your Ledger. It is just your private key that allows you access to the ADA. If you can see your balance in Yoroi the transfer has worked. It would be worth reading up about how hardware wallets work to fully get your head around what is happening. Hope that helps a little.

I hope you found your answer, but if you didn't... Your Ledger wallet does NOT store ADA. Your Ledger wallet is the private key for the Yoroi wallet. Which means, your ADA is stored on Yoroi. However, if you want to send ADA from Yoroi wallet to another address, you HAVE to connect your Ledger wallet and then confirm the transaction on your Ledger wallet. You can receive ADA on your Yoroi wallet with your Ledger wallet. If you want to send ADA from your Yoroi wallet, you need to connect your Leger wallet, then confirm the transaction. Hello I can't send anything from my wallet. Today I sent money back from binance to Yoroi and there was no problem with it. The problem arises when I try to send them back to Binance. It only shows me information "Something unexpected happened Please retry.It lokes like does not connect to the wallet the ledger is waiting for orders. Please help me
its usually just a set value. so the fee on my last 2 transactions was 2ADA each. the first move was 5 ADA with a 2 ADA fee to make sure the address works, then i moved 4000ADA with another 2ADA fee.
When i click send on Yoroi i don't have a receiving address to put in there, where do i find that? There's no account on Ledger Live for ADA so what do I do? At 3:34 in the video you said "here I'm going to enter an address"...where did you get it from?
If you want to send ADA to your Yoroi wallet powered by your Ledger device, you have to send ADA to your Yoroi wallet FIRST. ie. if you want to send ADA from your Binance account to your Yoroi wallet powered by Ledger... 1. click on chrome extension yoroi 2. click receive 3. Copy the receive address 4. On your Binance account click "withdraw" and send ADA from Binance to Yoroi with the Yoroi "receive" address you copied at step 3. 5. Your ADA will be sent to your Yoroi wallet address. *At 3:34, he is SENDING ADA from his Yoroi address to a different wallet address. Not sure why he decided to do that, it's really confusing for people. You can receive ADA in your Yoroi address at any time, but if you want to send ADA from your Yoroi address, you have connect it to your ledger. Does that make sense?
I`m sending ada from binance to yoroi but it takes forever, they show a transaction assurance level high with 104595 confirmations in this movie, how long is this gonna take?
From my experience, it takes about 20mins to 30mins to receive ADA from Binance. Which is way longer than it should take, I think it's Binance's fault though.
Is there a way to setup a password for my Yoroi wallet? Anyone can just press that Yoroi button in chrome on my computer and see my Ada amount and everything, and steal my Ada
Hey, I just figured it out. Once you set up your Yoroi Wallet with Ledger, you can not send any ADA without the Ledger wallet. Even if they click Yoroi from your chrome extension, they can just see your wallet information and addresses. It's impossible to send your ADA without the hardware wallet. Still, it would be great if the Yoroi app had a password on it, your ADA seems safe since they would need the Ledger wallet to confirm a send transaction
How do i view my seed phrase when i use my ledger? can't find a way to see it, and updating the ledger seems to erase the apps inside it and I want to recover my wallet if possible Thanks
@@realbusiness2806 yeah, just realized that the recovery phrase should be attached to the same phrase the ledger generates upon use and the master key should also be attached to that when you use yoroi w/ ledger. hope this helps :)

What if you don't use Chrome? What if you are on a desktop? I'm a big fan of Cardano, but I want to trade other digital currencies too. Is Yoroi only for ADA, or can I store other things in it? What is Ledger? Do I need Ledger to trade, or can I just use the wallet, Yoroi? Everybody assumes so much knowledge from their audiences... It seems impossible to find the ABC's, like I have never before traded cryptos. What do I need to do? I spend hours looking for the info and nobody seems to give it; everybody seems to make too many assumptions about their audience. I opened a BlockFi account, and they don't tell you how to fund it. It is impossible to figure out. They expect you to already have cryptos to transfer into it. Even USD, they want Tether or USDT; I don't have! Their help bot is unhelpful, and trying to get human help fails every time. Tried to open a Newton account (I'm in Canada), but it's been over a week they've been saying the application is under review and should be done in 24 hours... I have never experienced as much redtape and lack of help as in the crypto-sphere.
