I have a TV licence but regularly watch your videos as you give the correct information in an entertaining way. I think the threatening letters should be reported to the Advertising Standards Authority or similar to put pressure to re-word the letters in a less/non-threatening way.
How about the BBC stopping the letters altogether? As Jon says Netflix or Amazon Prime don’t send out threatening and bullying letters to people making them criminals lol. If people want a licence then they can buy one. Absolutely ridiculous situation we have. The sooner it’s abolished the better.

Just do the declaration using the name "Legal Occupier", it's what the illegal threat letter says, in fact here's every single one proving harassment and saying "Legal Occupier" should they somehow manage to get it to court
True, plus there's no law stating that UK people need to declare anything to crapita/TV Licencing so those letters are just "legal harassment and threats"

You should do a series, the hunt for the infamous Scott Robson, see if you can actually get to speak to him or contact him for real. Call up and demand that you will only discuss the case with person who signed the letter lol.
I have actually met Scott Robson, he lives in the Walford area of east London and drives a TV licence detector van. He's known to walk up and down the high street wearing a Mr. Blobby costume
They have surely covered their legal status or bye now I'm certain someone would have brought legal action against the BBC. It's my opinion that it's all down to our absolute shit politicians who should do a fast track law to outlaw the threatening letter's and bullies to people's houses name one other company that would get away with it
Crapita, rightly, cops a lot of stick for their threatening letters but shouldn't the BBC too? After all, it is under the aegis of the BBC, who like to present themselves as the Mother Theresa of broadcasters, that these nasty letters are sent out.
Cost to much and doubt they'd win as the wording is done in a way it can be construed as informative rather than actual threatening against just one individual
What I find astonishing, is that if anyone else pushed an 'extortion with menaces' letter through my door, I'd be able to go straight to the Police... So WHAT is the difference?
My letters went from having my name on to present occupier as I filed the letters in recycling. I did have a no licence declaration which expired but obviously they have no idea who lives here these days
I have today been released from prison after 6 months for not having a current liscence.The long sentence was me admmiting(stupidly) to watching " Captain Pugwash" when I was a kid.Should have kept my mouth shut.I desereved my time.
Doing the no license declaration for two years does NOT stop the letters. I did it but just over a year later, I got a letter from them demanding money with menaces. 😡 Straight in the bin.
I HAD a licence and still got letters for 6 months until they worked out one had been bought in a different name. They couldnt even check if there was a licence at the same address when the previous person did not renew..
I did one for the first time in 20 years recently . Only recently they've been sending me there letters, never sent letters to me before with the twenty years . Still wansnt happy in doing this this. Next time won't be happenig.
Send the letter unopened back to them with the elvis ‘return to sender’ to really cheese them off. If they send a goon then let them waste petrol and visit to an address where front door remains firmly shut. Cheesed off yet again.

A lot of capita don't start the conversation with, I'm from TV licencing, it's, " been given the name? Or, can you confirm this address! They do this, tell them to GET OFF THIS PROPERTY, MY ADVICE!
I’m sorry but doing a No Licence Needed Declaration doesn’t tell them who you are as there is no need to provide a name and you can use an anonymous disposable email address. It also doesn’t guarantee a visit because me and my family have been doing them for over a decade at three different addresses and we have never had a visit. I can confirm that it also stops all the letters for 2 years.

I declare that I don’t need a license, and have done for about 7 years now. Haven’t had letters or a visit since I did. All I get is an email every 2 years to say I need to declare again if I still no longer need a TV license. What I do get is scam emails saying my payment has failed for the TV license which I do have a good laugh at.
What is an 'official notice',....and what are the 'final stages of the investigation', if there were none previously? This info surely needs legal qualification; a 'final investigation' must mean that this is the very end, doesn't it?

Capita do get the blame for the letters but they don’t send them , Capita only provides the visiting agent. The letters are send directly by the BBCs Licence Enforcement Division using a London based bulk mailing company ,
Has what 'live' means been scientifically defined? Technically, there's always a lag (between one person's brain and another person's brain) and too few of us know what somebody else is thinking before we do. Nanoseconds, maybe, but probably not 'live' by scientific standards. Has the BBC said how many nanoseconds their idea of 'live' is?
For Licensing the definition is scheduled broadcast , you can find the time in a magazine or TV guide against on demand when you watch at a time that suits . Am sure they do it just to confuse ,,,,
