As a gen z kid, I feel like these guys should get more attention than they do now. I don't really care who you are, literally anyone can enjoy this song.
Mid 2021, the world has gone mad, stress and anxiety is at full force amidst the biggest epidemic of all time. The simplicity of life in 2011 is summed up through the beautiful lyricism of this song (sounds even better than the recorded track) Take me back!
Performed 6 days before Gerard passed, even then it must of been emotional as they knew he was seriously ill. You can really see/hear it in the performance.
this is great, the whole album/movie is (if you haven't seen nine types of light you're missing out, arguably one of the greatest works of musical art in a while) Their full David Letterman performance of 8 songs (uploaded on the TVOTR site) is next level. Just amazing, Young Liars is a great way to open a show...
i love how he says they are rock and roll, and lets the music speak for itself. he doesn't feel the need to elaborate with all these shitty genre descriptors, like alt-funk, art rock, etc. you go, david letterman.
OMG i just listened to the song on the TV. then i wanted to listen to it one again so i found that vid. and when i just read the comments i found out that he's dead !! :O Restinpeace!
I really like this version. These guys almost sound better live on everything I've seem so far. I don't have any of their albums yet, but I will be collecting their discography, preferably on vinyl. Does anyone know if they have the live versions released anywhere? As far as the dancers go, in my opinion, I think they really help support the emotion of this track. I really like the image if the band playing with the dancers doing their thing. So powerful. This song is so addictive. Als
I have to completely disagree with you, firstly I've seen these guys a couple of times and youtube never really does justice to a good live band. Secondly this was right before gerard smith died and for me i could really feel the emotion in this performance. BUT in saying that I do agree for a band that's records have such incredible production quality it is always hard to bring that into a live performance
Whoa I haven't seen them since 2008 but they were one of the best live bands ever. Only The Cramps, Bad Brains and Sonic Youth had more energy onstage than these guys.
It's not because of where you live, it's because there's not enough people who would actually buy tickets to see them. The bands don't really choose where they go, their label does, and they just follow the money trail.
@Tralalala00 Regarding what was given to letterman at 4:10 I do believe it was a business card. contact info, things of that nature. I'm in a band and we ALWAYS hand them out to the venue owners after the show. NEVER BEFORE!! That makes you a douche ;)
This is totally "Awesome" to say the least. And I would be ashamed to have anything but "Good" to say about the dancers, choreography or anything else about it!
