Beautiful video. Inspiring & well written. Most lack the difficulty & experiences to empathize to such a profound degree. I am DEFINITELY watching this series... normally an impossible ask. You elevated criticism & commentary to an art itself. Well done. Very moving. Thank you. Or maybe it's just the recent difficulties in my life that makes your points resonate internally. But I appreciate your sincerity in your analysis. Every once in a while, the RU-vid algorithm gets it right. Wish you continued success.

The Bear for whatever reason not only reignited my passion for cooking, it gave me a new found respect for people who work in the restaurant industry

Carmy in season 2 is some of the best undiagnosed autistic representation to ever grace the medium of television. The party scene alone made me feel so seen I was crying. If The Bear went were to go through with canonically diagnosing him, Carmy Berzatto could singlehandedly undo the cultural damage caused by 12 seasons of Sheldon Cooper in just 8 episodes.
@alexandrakorngut5197
@alexandrakorngut5197 12 дней назад
Personally (as an autistic individual myself), I think you're wrong. There's many ways to exhibit autism. As I've said, if you've met one person with autism, you've met one person with autism. Carmy could be autistic, but that's not the only way to see autism
@eme.261
@eme.261 10 дней назад
Autism? I don't see it, but I do see CPTSD compounded by relentless abuse in a professional environment. CPTSD is often mistaken as autism, due to how crippled the personality usually is and the extreme nature of the coping mechanisms utilized to either mask or excel.
@Keesha_Hardy
@Keesha_Hardy 4 дня назад
@UCtcdjYH3PNq6gtFGDtO1U2QI agree with this. I don't get this obsession by some fans to project autism onto him, as Ive seen many conments like OP's. If that's the route the show chooses to go, fine, but they haven't yet.

20 years working in the restaurant industry.. this show hits hard and can be so accurate. When I first heard one of the characters say “behind/corner” I was like… dang… I don’t know if I’ve ever seen that in a show revolving around a restaurant

I was a cook in the army,a truly thankless job-LOL. As a cook you get no respect from soldiers in other jobs,work 2 weekends out of each month while everyone else on base are off every weekend. The sgts who stay in over or near 10 yrs have feet and ankle issues from being on their feet all day long.I did my 7 yr hitch and bounced,met lots of interesting,dedicated people,but,got tired of field training ( going to field training every other month gets boring and tiring )
@nicole9volt
@nicole9volt 3 дня назад
@@user-be7tc2bd6e You definitely come out with some interesting stories ,, but damn, cooking/serving .. it takes a lot out of you. And you’re spot on with the “thanklessness “ of it. That’s why as a server I go out of my way to learn the names of all the cooks, salad makers, dish washers, and show them respect. I’ve seen way too much “us against them” when it comes to that. Things get heated sometimes but not nearly like they get with other disrespectful servers
@user-be7tc2bd6e
@user-be7tc2bd6e 3 дня назад
@@nicole9volt Yes,cooking/serving does take a lot out of you,I know full well I did it for 7 yrs in the army and also 7yrs as a cook in the navy.That's 14 yrs as a cook in the military,got tired of it and left the military. And some days in the army,there was an-US against them attitude among the cooks. I respect any and all who work as cooks or servers ( while in the navy,I worked as a server in the officer's ward-room on navy ships ) I know how hard you have to work and being on your feet all day.

This video hit pretty deep. I'm at a point in my life where I'm constantly challenging myself and just getting flustered that I'm not better or where I want to be. People tell me I have talents and skills and I've learned to accept the compliment and trust they mean it but completely unable to see it within myself and knowing that I can't quit because quitting is the true failure but still dragging my feet and constantly flipping between motivation and burn out. Maybe I should watch this show but I feel like I've seen the interior of a restaurant kitchen enough for a lifetime, especially since cooking is not one of my passions.

This show. It's my heart. The thing I wish I wrote. 30 years in food service, Italian American in the mid-west upbringing. As an Ohio girl, Cleveland and Chicago have my heart. This show makes me feel seen in ways that would make me uncomfortable if people would ask me more about why I love it. My very Prodistant husband asked me after Fishes - "Is this what it's like when you are all together?" And all I could say was "Well....no one's driven a car through the front of the house....yet....but ya. That's what it's like when we are all together. And it's toxic and beautiful and wonderful and I can only take it in small doses."

The first three episodes of season 3 almost gave me a panic attack and I loved every minute of it. Going to watch some more tonight. In all seriousness, this show atomized me. I felt totally seen through. Nothing more to say that wasn't said here other than I found this show a year or so after I was at the crest of a serious reevaluation of myself and escaping a cycle of self destructive behavior, and this show reminded me of how worth it that process was.

I worked in kitchens for nearly a decade since my first job. To the point where I was out with friends and I reflectively said "Behind" when trying to move past and my friend shot me a smirk "ah, kitchen" they apparently worked front of the house. I remember sharing clips of the Bear with them when it started and every one hit real close to home. Hearing the background and consulting, Im not surprised at all. Its such a sharp and knowing representation of some facets of that business. I remember Anthony Bourdain saying, "kitchens are the last bastion for people who society forgot". Its filled with people working through or dealing with stuff, and theres a found family in that. And Im with you, those family moments just seem normal. Im glad I did it and you could never pay me enough to go back. Ill eventually sit down to watch The Bear but its a little to real for me and a little to close for now.

I'm so glad you covered this show. It instantly became one of my favourite shows ever within the first few episodes and I've been singing its praises and telling everyone I know to watch it. And season 2 only reinforced my love for the show. I used to work front and back of house so the moments in the kitchen felt familiar to a scary degree haha. But yeah I adore the highs and lows of these characters and seeing them interact and progress over the 2 seasons. The combination of joy, stress and pain I feel from this show isn't felt on any other. Anyway bring on season 3!

12:04, The idea of the desire to simply do a good job or fulfill a their perceived purpose being perverted by an onslaught of chaotic situations and subsequently brutal and ugly conditions is a good perspective to see this kind of story, as is the idea that even the worst people in this story, like Carmy’s old boss, were likely mistreated at some point, which explains their cruel behavior even though it doesn’t justify repeating and transferring them to others. It gives the story world a sense of tangibility and history.

You do great work anyway but this was really interesting. I never watched this show., but since seeing more about it I feel like I could watch it. The trailers I saw made it look intense and sustaining that for a half hour or whatever length it was would be draining in the long run. Another content creator I follow reviewed this show too and you presented them very differently. They didn't look like different shows per say but you each presented a different tone of show.

Hell yes, I did not think a show released in 2023, and ongoing, could so easily become one of my favourite tv shows ever, I think about it a lot, Season 2 is just masterful, glad its so popular. Every actor does an amazing job, the writing is great, the direction and editing is always so energetic and vibrant and engaging, the way it depicts trauma/anxiety and all the weird mental ticks of different people is too accurate. Fishes is still a nightmare episode for how accurate it is about ‘those’ sorts of family dynamics
@GremlinBones

When I first described it to my brother, I called the Bear "stressful, but oddly comforting" and I said that it is the BEST show to watch after work, especially of you work in a chaotic job like customer service. I saw an article yesterday that said the Bear was going bad quickly but highly disagree. I'm really excited for season three but I also get the sense that this show should probably end with season 3 as well. Since I haven't yet finished season 2 and season 3 isn't out yet, as of right now, I think this is because it would be a 3 act story, perfectly complete like that. Season 1 leafs to a dream coming true, season 2 is coming to terms with that dream in reality, and season 3 (in my mind) would then be finding that dream as a successful happy ending. I'd really hate to see this wonderfully personal show go on for too long and ruin the beautiful chaos.

Season 3. Strange one I thought. Still beautiful acting, Carms tear at the end after the confrontation was incredible. Beautifully shot, and great dialogue. But it was strange because the whole season felt like a constant simmer, none of the explosiveness of earlier seasons, none of the sense of impending doom. The impending doom seemed to be being set up (for a season 4 perhaps) but this season was more a spend time with the characters season, Ts episode being the standout, with Sugars being a close second. Even the threads from season two didn't get resolved, like Carm and Cousins harsh words, or Carm and Clare. Season three was just well made television I think but season 4 has got a lot of payoff needed, and no doubt a lit of bombshell moments, such as the reveal of what on earth went on between Fancie Fuck and Sugar!!!!

Loved season 1, honestly perfect addictive TV drama. Season 2 was more of a strain for me: mainly because I didn't like the restaurant they were making or honestly what the show was preaching about work and labor, especially through episodes like Forks. The solo episodes were a great showcase of the cast though. I'm putting off season 3: I'm just worried I won't like it from the direction that had been established and the previous season and what previews have implied. Just gave me a little nerves about the whole thing.
