I think it's 1000% worth the upgrade. The improvement is so huge. The deathwing will wash out and you might not be able to recover but the Shinko SR244 will always go where you point it and it's got way more traction. I'd never go back.
After riding that Tdub with the 244 I am really impressed with just how much grip it had. I did ride it off road and noticed a huge difference there as well. I can't decide if I want to run the stock until I wear it out, or replace it right now?
I have a hawk 250 i have to rebuild because i didn’t know not to ride in rain with stock tires and high speeds on gravel made me lose control.I went down doing 55- 😖I usually only ride city streets so I’m only going 30-40. On stock tires I only pushed it to make speed when I had a straight away but then it vibrated way to much and it scared me and i had on gloves. I’m lucky to not got injured to bad given I’m in a major city with city traffic that don’t pay attention to riders smh. I’m rebuilding my hawk 250 but I really want a TW200.
Just got my first tw200 a 2009 model 3 days ago bought it used with 4100 MI very clean one owner rode it yesterday in the Ocala national forest and fell in love with this bike I told my wife it's kind of like when you sell the Camaro and get a minivan you know you're getting old, when you park the CRF and get a TW you're getting old😵😂
That's funny!! But, my buddy had a KX250 (Actually it was Randy, in this video! But he sold it on Sunday) and he found himself riding the TW more and more! Nice find with yours! Here's to many happy miles of riding!
Thanks for taking the time.to.watch and comment! You're right, having good friends to ride with makes a big difference! Same buddies, different ride! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Vv_Y2JbeICk.html
Hey, I’ve owned a TW for years. I’ve had the front stock trail wing, That tire is unpredictable. Then wanted the most traction in the front, got a Dunlop d606. Big mistake. It had way too much traction and super heavy. Sold the bike with the 606 on it and finally got the golden boy. 5.10 I think. The best tire by far. Great traction but not too much. Doesn’t wander anymore. I have more control of the bike and that’s what it’s all about. So the moral of the story is this; you can have too much traction in the front. Have fun and keep it between the lines.
Thanks for watching and for your input! That's crazy that the 606 had too much grip! I thought this tire had too much! I've got a new 241 to install on my bike so I'm interested to see how well it does!
For this video, I actually had four Tdubs at my house! That is why I bought a 2021 so I could do different things to each bike just to show the versatility of the bike and how many different directions you could take it. Come on over, I have two, my neighbor has one and I can get at least three more that I know of here in a few minutes!
A heavy beast of a tire. In some of those angles it looks wider than the rear! I still have mine as a backup, but for the fire road, loose desert stuff I found it too clunky and stiff. As stated, I’m sure mud is a whole different story, but unfortunately I don’t come across much of that out here. Good stuff nonetheless! Cheers!🇺🇸🍻
Thank You Sir, I appreciate it! With most of the riding that I do personally, I think that the 241 is the tire that I am going to go with as well. It seems to be the best "All Around Tire" option from what I can see. Plus, the places you have taken your bike with that tire, I think it'll serve me just fine! My skill level ain't anywhere close to what you guys do!
I think your buddy would like what I saw on a TW 200 not long ago. He had the rear tire from a KTM 350 dual sport, placed that tire on the front of the TW and it looks really cool very aggressive tire.
@@MOBStreet83 I know right, I have seen atv tires on the rear also. That's why after over a year of watching TDUB vids like yours, I decided with all the bikes out there, the Tdub was the most unique bike I have everseen. Once your done chasing speed, and I know you have over the years also, you decide hell with that I want to explore, go on an adventure, hunting, fishing etc...the TDUB is the best bike in my opinion. Anyway keep up the the great vids man, your channel is only going to keep growing, take care looking forward to the next video.
🤔🤔🤔I'll have to ask them if we're related.......if so, my family has a lot of explaining to do! 😂 I actually prefer the stock tire so far. It Holds up well and has done a lot better in the elements than my Dunlup K180's
I haven't had the 241 is super deep mud yet, but it has done pretty good so far with what I have faced. That 244 felt as though it could handle the knarly of the knarly trails. It felt heavy, but it had loads of grip.
NICE - Another great video!!! One day I will have to try the Shinko 244 in comparison to the Shinko 241 I'm currently running. As you guys said, the 244 has a heavier feel. Our experience is that the 241 feels lighter than the 244. Both seem to be better than the stock Bridgestone TW24. I HOPE TO COME RIDE WITH YOU GUYS ONE DAY!!!
Thank you Sir, I really appreciate it! I am really wanting to try the 241. I'm looking forward to that comparison! Everything I have seen says that it is better than the 244 out here where we ride. I am tempted to install it on the bike before the stock wears out. We'd love to have you come out here and ride with us! It's an open invitation, just let us know when!
Hey you guys, I’ve built a 6x10 camping cargo trailer and was just wanting to ask if one of these bikes would be a good addition for an old guy bout 70 years old for the woods.
The 244 really grips! It holds really well and on the gravel is much better than the stock. I really like the 241 for most everything but the 244 would be better for muddier terrain. But, they make two sizes of the 244 and I personally think the 4.60-18 would work better with the TW than the 5.10-18. The 5.10 felt a lot heavier with steering than the stock but it grips like no other!
I really like when i got my new 180/80 14 TW34 tire, it says "For Rear Use Only". Makes one wonder if anyone ever made that mistake and tried putting an 8" wide tire on the front of something? lol.
You know that someone has done it............kinda like those warning signs on things where you know the only reason they have those stickers is because someone, somewhere tried it!
Sometimes you’ll find TW200 or TW225 (best version, extra cc and elec+kick start) second hand in the UK. Any TW225 will be a jap import and in KPM instead of MPH.
I got no problem with the stock front tire on the dubs. The back tire though I wish there were some options. Here in Ohio we are riding in alot of muddy deep ruts made by the side by side folks. The stock rear, fish trails alot and slides down in those ruts real easy. I don't know the answer but maybe a narrower tire? Or different side wall logs? Any opinion?
I am still trying to find a suitable replacement for the rear that isn't an ATV tire.....I have seen some people go with those but I personally wouldn't use one. Once I find a good replacement, I'll make a video on it!
I think I might have found one that I would like to try! The Dunlop K180 front and rear! I really like the flat track style tread they have. Some are saying they are great in the mud/dirt/desert and all! I might have to give them a try!
@@MOBStreet83 Hi guy's, I got this k180 on my suzuki vanvan 200. It's a camping ground tire, anything more than that. This tire wants to wash out. (70% road 30% off road) Good on asphalt roads, grass, earth, sand. Bad on gravel roads, mud, rock, quicksand.
Hey! This was the 5.10-18 that we installed on this one. The 4.60 might not be as heavy as this one, but it is still a great tire to go with! Hope this helps!
A 130 tire size is just a touch bigger than a 5.10. So I run the Sedona 5.00-5.10-18 Tube. Here is the link. www.rockymountainatvmc.com/tires-and-wheels/sedona-motorcycle-tube-p?v=17593?ref=1033&
That is one place I didn't try this tire. I did ride the 241 in the sand and I felt as though that one did okay. I'll have to get another 244 and try it out!
@@MOBStreet83 My daughter and her boyfriend both have the 241s on their TWs and they have no issue in sand. My 244 was scary slippery when I rode with them.
It takes me almost a full minute to hit 55! If there is any head wind at all........40 is about all I can do! Yesterday I had a hard time keeping it at 40 with this blasted wind we've had forever!
