This comes full circle if you listen to "Shantae: Half Genie Hero:" Mermaid Falls OST. This music sounds like local forecast music that could have easily been played in 1993-1995.
I showed this to my mum and she didn't get it. After I explained to her, she said "ah there is a generation gap between us." kinda explains why she didn't understand the reference
"The New Orleans Levees broke!" "New Orleans took massive flood damage!" "Over my dead body, Katrina!" "Hurricane Katrina's wind speed fell by 2 categories!"

Me when Ansem has the stand Weather Report so in addition to having powerful magics and Terra’s heart as his familiar he also can control the weather so completely:
Is there a good analysis on her tracks that explains it? Like, we can all hear how similar it sounds but I I wanna know if someone's ever put it into words

thank goodness i live in new england where threats like this don't exist. but if i heard this playing on the tv and a hurricane coming right at me i'd fight it. not seriously of course hurricanes can kill
They used to do such funny shit at TWC at night. I still remember when some of their anchors came on at like 2am and the female one said "oh I wish I was taller" and the guy goes "here at The Weather Channel, we make dreams come true" and she started to rise up, she must have been standing on some mechanical platform 😂 I wish I had a recording of it because it sounds like a fever dream
Can just imagine the composer presenting this to a boardroom of people in their 50's and they react like "Wow okay sure, this is the one" This is borderline experimental.

I hate how even 16 years later, the real composer still hasn’t been identified. AUGUST 2023 EDIT: The real composer, Christopher Kennedy, has been identified!
@@theskyrax670 An email from Whitney Arnold confirmed it wasn’t his work. “The logo or ‘sonic brand’ is our composition (0:00 - 0:04) but the bed and entire track actually is not our production.”

So when the full version coming out??? Real talk though, as a survivor of Hurricane Katrina, this scared the fucking piss out of me after that experience (I had just turned 6 when it hit). It fucked up our house to the point where the house had actually been torn off of its foundation and being held back by the plumbing pipes. First time hearing this the next year, it struck a chord that was like a fresh scar to me, but coming back to it, it almost gives me a strong feeling of resilience and determination to fight. If the storm was a superboss, then I will be the one who conquers it, y'know?? I'm 22 now, and although I still tense up during hurricanes or tropical storms, I always listen back on this as a sort of calming method, pretending that I'm fighting the storm inside myself. Still here, still fighting, and I always will be. Damn I didn't mean to turn this into a sappy comment, but this song boppin'.
dude, this fuckin rocks. so sorry you lived through that and that storms still make you feel anxious, but i'm glad this song hasn't festered into something painful for you. it's a great tune - albeit really strange for its application - and it's awesome and inspiring that it's become an empowering thing for you. makes the song even cooler tbh
@@praenomen6290 gonna be really bummed if they made this story up somehow, but i'd like to give the benefit of the doubt and believe that this song marked "2006" may possibly have also been a late 2005 one. i guess there's no knowing for sure unless op says otherwise :P
The Weather Channeler will begin the encounter casting The Eye of the Storm, dealing slight raidwide damage and applying the debuffs Dripping to tanks and healers and Spongey to DPS. Simply assign each DPS a tank/healer partner and stack on them to cleanse the debuff and drop a blue puddle on the ground. Next The Weather Channeler casts Cloud Summon, spawning 4 clouds that must be baited by each DPS into the puddle, giving each one Lightning Resistance Down, causing them to die to the upcoming raidwide damage.
This song was composed by Chris Kennedy as a staff composer Clean Cuts Music (now Noise Distillery) for TWC. They usually weren't credited, but he recently stepped forward on Twitter.
"I do arrive naturally, but I am no disaster. I have come and gone ever since your precious planet was hospitable to your kind. Whether it be in the form of rapid lightning strikes, a funnel shape of death carrying and tossing your creations away, formations of burning ice that few can take, or freezing small flakes that cut through any warmth you feel, I can take any shape, and I can appear at any time. I am the Eye Of The Storm. I see clearly that you have chosen not to take cover, and you wish to chase me head on. Very well then." *"Can you weather my assault?"*
I genuinely refuse to believe this sounding like a JRPG boss track isn’t a coincidence. Literally all the usual musical sounds and motifs you’d expect are there. Outside of the little station jingle the structure is identical
I am the bone of my Umbrella Water is my body and Wind is my blood I have forecasted over a thousand storms Unknown to Thunder, nor known to Lightning Have withstood Rain to predict many Hurricanes Yet those forecasts will never predict everything So, as I pray- Unlimited Storm Works
Congratulations to the composer tasked with making this music for a simple storm alert on a weather channel and going absolutely mad with it. Whoever you are, you're a legend
Take a look at this tiny place. To the rain drop seeking freedom, this cumulonimbus cloud is a prison, surrounded by water. . . And so this drop sought to escape from its prison. It sought a way to cross over into other worlds, and it opened its heart to storms.
I love it starts as a normal news jingle, but then just quickly turns into a crazy boss theme. It almost feels fake, kinda like the whole Mario Party DS piracy song. ...damn, this could be a trend!
"But..but sir! A severe weather warning is in effect for this area. Once its attack is imminent, you should seek shelter under sturdy furniture and away from windows."
*you stare at the sun one last time. Your healing objects and ammo are low. Your friends and companions are all dead. You heard the weather alert play its song one final time. The sky turns cloudy as you reload your weapond.* (Sorry for bad english)
People say waking up to an American EAS alarm is scary, imagine waking up to _this_ song playing in the background as a person or text to speech is warning you about a tornado that just touched down in your area. Gives me chills just thinking about it..
"There are things you can't fight - acts of God. You see a hurricane coming, you have to get out of the way. But when you're in a Jaeger, suddenly you can fight the hurricane. You can win." - Raleigh Becket, Pacific Rim
Just learned this was composed by some dude name Chris Kennedy. I always though this was some lost/scrapped JRPG track. (Ps. I know Chris Kennedy composed this but damn this could fit ether the game Ar Tonelico or a Venetian Snares album)
