Imo this song is about not believing the bad thoughts your own brain tells you, and also not putting too much stock in praise people give you. Also, the show he goes to before finishing the Berlin song is the one where he announced he was gonna be a dad. And, if you love his sarcasm, check out some of the "Tyler Joseph and his sassiness" videos

The Hype is like Tyler telling younger Tyler not to believe the Hype and to not lose what got him there - the video kind of reflects that as they get to the very top then fall through - they believe the Hype and get all plaided out - you can see at the end they take all that off and go back to their roots - he is also saying “my kind will be on my side” - referring to the fans helping him This video was shot after their last hometown shows in Columbus - fans were able to enter sweepstakes to be in the video - not their childhood home, but in a Columbus suburb The Berlin session video is just insane… They also are playing in a celebrity softball game in Columbus tonight too so you might see some footage of that on the instagrams!

I like both versions. If the original did not exist, though, the Berlin session version would not make much sense though, in my opinion. I think the Berlin version is much more dance-able and groovy. Question to the other fans, was that the Lalapalooza show that he announced Jenns'a pregnancy or is my timeline off? I am glad you watched them together, that was a cool way to do them. Great reaction again!

There are a couple of other sessions that they do one is with mute math where they redo I think 5 songs. And there is another one where Tyler takes 5 of their songs and reimagines them if you haven't seen they are amazing.

You'll be able to find me at 3 of the 4 Los Angeles shows the last week of September. Anyone else going to be at any of the LA shows? Also I agree that the Berlin Location Session version is superior. Which isn't a knock against the studio version at all, it's an awesome track as well, but the aesthetic of the Berlin Session is just so vibey and relaxing. I have it included on the Fall Asleep Playlist I put together for myself.

I so love that you reacted to these two back to back! I wasn’t in love with the new version at first because it reminded me of a Justin Bieber type song, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but I just didn’t relate it with Tyler Joseph. But the second version has grown on me and I think I like it more now. By the way, you do need to go to a concert! I have tickets to three different shows in Atlanta in November and I am over the moon. Best concert you will ever see.

Great reaction Andrew!!! Don’t know what happened though - I didn’t get a notification of this upload and it wasn’t on my recommended either!!! Even though I’ve been a sub forever lol!!! RU-vid eh?!? SMH! I really love the Berlin version - the vocals are just awesome - I’d love to see Tyler do this version live but don’t think that’ll happen! Lol! Can’t wait to see them in London next year!!!!

OH! Also...I have a feeling the dude at the record store lied to me. I asked for two...he was like yeah...actually I think there is only one....then proceeded to pretend to check...but I think he really just wanted the other copy for himself! No joke. haha Well...sorry. This was too cool to pass up. It's my first TOP vinyl OK!? Maybe if I wasn't so selfish I would have given this one away. Who knows.

thank you!!! this was awesome, I love the ‘double features’ 😂 when I first heard this song I got instant flashbacks to like late 90s vibes. the plaid & the way the song sounds made me think of like green day or linkin park or something. with that in mind, i’ve always thought of this song as an ode to his teenage self (and to us). don’t believe the hype which kids in these days of social media it’s very easy to get swept up in. when I saw this song performed live is when the meaning of it (for me) developed into an appreciation of the relationship we have with them and them to us. “it’s nice to know that my kind will be by my side” tyler really made us know that he was talking about us while he was on stage.

TOP just announced they'll be covering festival dates for Blink-182, since Travis Barker needed surgery on a finger. Man, I wish I could jump on one of these festival dates. I had really taken to the original version, so when Berlin version came out, I was not ready for it. I took a few listens, but now I like the Berlin version better. Except no Josh. We appreciate Josh.

@@NaturalReactions For TOP MTV unplugged you have to watch the full video (~40min). You can still break it up for reactions, but watch the whole thing. They have important stuff building up to the songs in between, but it's cut out of the individual song videos.
