In darkness deep, his heart has stopped,
A sudden clutch, his life feels lopped.
His breath, it falters, shadows draw near,
A stillness whispers, "Your death is here."
Yet through the Veil, a light, brightly unfurls,
Within a Sea of Peace, free of worldly swirls.
Immersed in purest Love, so boundless, divine,
Ere long a form appears, her flowing garments shine.
Her voice sweet and soft, whispers in his mind,
"In scores of lifetimes our very souls entwined."
He promptly sees their past, both crystal clear and grand,
In Ireland's green fields, in the scorched Arabian sand.
Toiling as farmers once, their tender love took root,
Roaming in desert sands, as fearless thieves they'd loot.
Once as Chinese princess, she drew her final breath,
Her love's life to defend, boldly defying death.
"Return," she urges, "your final time's not now,"
"We'll meet again my love, someday, somewhere, somehow."
Reluctant, torn, unwilling, abruptly back he falls,
Revived, as again he wakes, her precious name he calls.
His body aches and freezes, yet glows his spirit warm,
As all that has befallen, waft through his mind's storm.
For her he's sorely yearning, knowing he'd have to wait
Up to the time the final card is dealt by his own Fate
Though years may pass, and days may blur,
His heart holds fast and dreams of her.
For Love transcends all Time and Space,
In Destiny's arms, their souls embrace.
With faith he lives, he's certain, their bond will always last,
Eternity bows in reverence, awed by their love, profound and vast.
Though Time may trick and Purpose stray, however Life may bend,
Through Time they 'll roam together, their souls merge in the end.
