No Cummins or Powerstroke is any match to a well built Duramax. The dodge guys had the lead for many years but now a real motor has stepped up. The all mighty Duramax :)

I drive a ram 2500 but i sure do love dodge and chevy both! Im glad yall shared this. If dodge vs chevy in a pulloff running off the track 30ft into the corn stalks aint one of the best damn shows you could see then yall might as well move to canada. Yessir thats what im daggum talkin about!

D-max is built by GM in america. It was co-designed by GM and isuzu. I do love cummins, but i love the d-max to. They each excel in different areas. The cummins is awesome for pulling, and the d-max is fast and also a good everyday truck.

Less black smoke don't mean nuthin cause black smoke is fuel that can't be burnt so the less smoke a diesel is puttin out its workin hard and effishitnly And duramax desiels are one of the best deisel trucks u can buy and they also have the best trams

Black smoke does NOT mean less power. It means untapped power... Adding more intake air would clean up the smoke and produce more power. Excess black smoke hurts nothing. EGTs may get excessive however.

w/e dmax and cummins are both good engines but i guarantee you would like the interior and drivability of the chevy more.

I did not add any weight. My duramax stayed the same for both hooks. I drove the truck to the pull and back home. I didn't have anywhere to hide or store weight, so what I had was on the truck.

@zwe1 Actually its the other way around. The cummins and powerstroke will always be behind the duramax. At the truck pulls this year here there were NO fords, 6 dodges and 2 duramaxs. The duramaxs took first and 2nd place and the dodges were the rest of course. And one of the dodges had to be pulled off the track with a tractor because it broke down lol. Again you just dont see any powerstrokes here and only see cummins because of their prior reputation. They suck in todays world tho.

Ford stopped making the the 7.3 because they never made any money as far as parts go, the only thing your guarenteed to replace is a cam sensor. I drive a 12v cummins my self but to be honest id like to own all three at some point in my life lol

I like the Dmax. It works great for me!!

I prefer the D-Max, but i don't pull alot of weight often. If i did, I would go with cummins.

The people doing pulling will make one for them at that rate lol

@kasnep Its quite the opposite. I'm a ford man and even I know the ford diesel sucks. The dodge sucks a little less and the Duramax doesnt suck at all. Duramax #1, Cummins #2 and Powerstroke #3.

if i herd the story correctly there was a pull off between the white dodge and sliver d-max. now if my facts are straight the dmax added extra weight. smart move but i believe the dodge pound for pound still would have won.

lol this guy below me must be on crack. I work for GM as a tech and the Duramax is made by Isuzu. Detroit engines don't suck, they're actually the most reliable, which is why you see them in numerous marine applications. And please, stop making me laugh, Ford builds the 6.7, they don't buy it from international, and the last 7.3 ever was produced in 2003.

Actually isuzu doesn't make the duramax motor they make the wiring harnesses and some components. The company that makes the duramax motor is dmax a company that chevy owns. Detroit motors are made by Detroit which those motors sucked. Plus if isuzu made duramaxs wouldn't they put them in there trucks. And ford still buts all there motors from international because my grandpa all ways bought the old fords and still to this day ford still puts internationals 7.3 liter diesels in there trucks.
