Twisted Metal 2 Characters TIER LIST 

There's been an explosion of Twisted Metal content on youtube lately and I'm all for it.

The best thing about sweet tooth is when you pick him you don't have to deal with his special spam bs in the tournament

Here's some TM2 nerd info. The Armor stat is a bit misleading, all vehicles take the same amount of damage from all attacks (ie: Homing missile always does 10 damage). Higher armor characters have higher HP instead, but not all star ratings are equal. For example Mr. Grimm and Spectre both have 1 star in Armor, but Grimm actually has 85 hit points and Spectre has 110. So yeah there's a reason Mr. Grimm feels so squishy even compared to other low armor characters. For anyone interested I'll list the health values for the playable cast below. Mr. Grimm: 85 Twister: 95 Grasshopper: 110 Spectre: 110 Outlaw: 120 Roadkill: 120 Shadow: 120 Thumper: 120 Axel: 130 Hammerhead: 130 Mr. Slam: 140 Sweet Tooth: 140 Warthog: 150 Minion: 230

Thumper and Shadow were my mains, but every character in Twisted Metal 2 had something about them that made them enjoyable to play, if not outstanding. But man, Thumpers flamethrower coupled with a well placed freeze is devastating. Glad to see Bruce get some much deserved love.

Roadkill's Special is WAY stronger on the way back. If you freeze the enemies, you can hit them on the way back fairly easy and it's so good/fun

Start using mines while doing specials. Some examples: - Drop mines and throw napalm while doing Twister's special. - You can do the same with Mr. Slam, driving backwards while slamming the victim into your mines. - Drop some mines while doing Grasshopper's attack, need to be fast. Roadkill's special does a lot more damage if it hits on the return. Cars take more damage when they're rolling, this is useful for cars that are good at ramming. Also, combine this with Thumper's special (ram them and special while they roll) for a devastating attack. Also, although Outlaw 2 has an obvious connection to TM1, it can be argued that Yellow Jacket also won TM1 based on his story in the two games.

I personally would rate Mr. Slam as A on the back of his obnoxiously overpowered special. You can drop missiles into the grabbed enemy, freeze them on the way out, or even use the enemy as a shield if I remember correctly. And that's ignoring the evergreen tossing someone off an edge. Then again, I may be biased from my time on the other games, where there's generally a bit more environmental effects to toss opponents at.

For a long time, Minion was the only character I could reliably use to get through the Tournament solo. It's so good that this series has a tradition of letting you play as boss/mini-boss characters.

Actually you can use the shield along Twister's special and neglect all damage besides you can spam mines, nalpalm and bombs while using her special.

You didn’t seem to mention it but dropping mines with the Grasshopper special does absolutely insane damage. I’ve known this for literal years- no idea why everyone making TM2 tier lists today is sleeping on this

Great list again man!! This is my favorite game in the series... I can't say I really disagree with anything on your list. Thumper is my favorite vehicle in this one and you pretty much explained why ... A freeze blast and his special is pretty much a death sentence. Also fun fact about Roadkill... If you can manage to time his special to hit the enemy vehicle while it's returning to you it does triple damage!! it's tough but not impossible.

This was great, always enjoy me some twisted content! I think I'd have to give Minion his own god tier. I'd bump up Mr. Slam and bump down Specter and twister for my own list. I get where you're coming from with specter, though. Shadow is my main and I do so well with him I often think of him as top tier too. Going to watch all your videos now!

Great video!!! List is pretty solid. Not sure I would have spectre so high. He is fast but special is very weak in my view. Thumper is where it is at after a nice freeze

I always liked using Mr. Slam and Axel

Axel and thumper were my main. Twister maybe third cause she was so fun to play as but always had to use the shield right before using her special to not take damage. If any game needs a reboot it’s this one. I’d pay anything to see this in next gen.

I always liked to bubble up and drop a mine with twister in close quarters mid special. Especially in the locker room of new york. Deals a LOT of damage lol

Twister's special kills Dark Tooth in no time because DT takes damage when he hits into the buildings in Hong Kong

Shadow w that special is S tier. He can solo the bosses without any effort thanks to going through walls. Does more damage than Specter just gotta time it and it does better crowd control damage than Axel. Can even ram the small cars like Twister, Grimm and Grasshopper.

My mains were specter , thumper & roadkill and sometimes shadow oh so fun I miss these days. I still have the game too so I enjoy playing with twister a lot too

Mr Slam is an easy "S" without question. Only behind Minion, and equal to Axel. Why? 1, Because of the mindblowing Special+other attacks like napalm combo what people already mentioned. 2, Because he has the 3rd strongest armor after Minion and Warthog. 3, Even if he is slow, he is not really sluggish at all. His handling is just fine. Other things I don't agree with are the high placements of Grimm and Twister. I value strong armor more than the maker of this tier list I suppose. Especially about Mr Grimm. He reminds me more of a cotton candy, than a battle vehicle. Oh, and Roadkill is a solid "A" for me, but its more like a personal taste. I like its handling very much.

Are you taking in account on road kill the special does 2x damage if it hits on the return to the car? Also grasshopper if u use turbo when activating the special u get additional damage Along with shadow if detonation of the special on a slope u get additonal damage

I hate how Hammerhead exists just to look cool in this game. Bad stats, awkward to use, plus Axel can do the same "drive onto cars thing" that Hammerhead's special does, and doesn't even have to do anything extra for that. Twister's special is suicide when you scoop up Thumper who will absolutely use it and fry you alive in seconds. Another thing I'd dock Sweet Tooth for is, if you wanna see his ending, you *have* to beat the whole game on three lives because he has *no* level passwords

I've played this game so many times and I never use Mr Grimm. I hate how it takes a lot of damage and (probably my fault) controlling it is awful, it's so light that if you accelerate a little you could literally fly and lose control of it

Twister is my personal favorite character in the whole franchise hard to use but really rewarding when you figure her out love the skill gap in the game it’s a lot deeper than what it looks like on surface love all the content tho❤😎

Id say roadkill special is a 5 homie i like how if you hit the enemy when it comes back its qtr of health and it sends people flying roadkill is one of my favorite characters due to his special i used to always main thumper and minnion until i found out about roadkills bommerang

You said earlier that Twister's special is doing more harm to herself than opponent(s)? Well, so far doing my personal Twister run in tm2, all the way to final boss (of course i use password everytime i F died and game over), the best way to use her special is basically just stand still while spinning and slowly veer her car into any enemies nearby (not wall thou!). That way, she will 50% of times not gonna hurt herself out of it but also can dish out huge damage if you lift someone like Mr Slamm or Hammerhead into any of sucked enemies, including these behemoth(s) themselves. Oh and if you are fast enough, you can actually toss Napalm or Power Missile while lifting cars to deal even more damage! Time it tho. Also while doing the super, please for god's sake do not lift Thumper, Outlaw 2, and Axel, because their specials will definitely obliterate Twister while she does her special!

If I'd rate the characters from best to worst this is how I will rate them based on my experiences while playing as them: 1. Minion 2. Thumper 3. Axel 4. Warthog 5. Mr. Slam 6. Shadow 7. Outlaw 2 8. Spectre 9. Mr. Grimm 10. Roadkill 11. Grasshopper 12. Twister 13. Sweet Tooth 14. Hammerhead So if I don't include the unlockable characters Thumper would be my #1 because he's much more fun to play as than Axel in my opinion plus I believe Axel's ram damage is a bug caused by cheat code that you can enter which is called "Wheels of Death" the cheat basically increases Axel's ram damage so I think cuz of this cheat they messed up Axel's ram damage without this bug Axel would just be "meh"

Personally I'd put Mr. Slam in S if you follow up the special with a napalm, you can instantly kill any of the other contestants.

Has anyone gone into the code of the game and figured out the actual health/armor/damage values? Every list I see goes by the in-game stats which, let's be honest, games of this era could often be very inaccurate.

I always wandering, why Axel is so open for every shot and attack. He just a body between two giant wheels. No cover, no armor. It's kinda odd to me

S: Minion, Spectre A: Everyone else B: Hammerhead C: Sweet Tooth D: Grasshopper Stamina bar inputs makes tier lists a bit weird. Grasshopper often puts herself right where her opponent wants her. She can take more damage than she deals to larger opponents so she needs to shield when she goes in for her special...although she also telegraphs her special so the opponent can shield when she goes in for her special. If a tier list is about matchups, Grasshopper has lots of bad matchups. A character like Hammerhead doesn't need to commit to special to have a strategy. Its just a bonus and you can use your stamina to freeze or napalm at point blank and do a ton of damage.

Hey ummm your list is pretty much spot on but I would argue sweet tooth should be b tier So the trick to it is freeze spam specials drop remotes or spam specials to pin someone to the environment and use napalm It’s roughly 75-80% damage Flurry machine gun fire and you can solo kill in about 3-4 seconds downside is you have to wait for more specials When I was a kid I used to stockpile homing and Ricos for spam while waiting for specials

Hey there binging you videos. Sweet Tooth TM2 is my favorite behind 2012 (i would also like to add i dont turn into a bot and run when playing actual people. Computer only unless youre not being fair) Sweet Tooth Ranking TM 2012 TM2 TM H.O. TM3 TM Black TM1 TM Small Brawl TM4 TM 4 is just too cheesy. Its the best special of the series but nah.

My opinions of the vehicles of TM2: .Roadkill: Decent, but i didn't like his design in this one because if feels like a different car, i like his TM1 counterpart more because of what the name Roadkill represent ( a vehicle armored with junkyard parts) i like the color that they choose as it give a more vibe feel and its special is pretty cool as its a boomerang that can return to you if it misses though its firepower it's medium.Overall it's a pretty decent car to play but it's design could have been better. (6.5/10) .Twister: One of the hardest cars to use and one that feels worse than Pit Viper and Grasshopper, simply because of it's very low armor and risky special. Even though I enjoy it's design of being a formula race car, i wished they would have made it stronger and a bit easier to use. I like it's ending though. (4/10) .Axel: Pretty cool to use since it has that hammerhead infinity special, but it's handling feels oddly stiff. I don't know why but, despite Axel being popular in the franchise, it's my least favorite vehicle and character. Maybe it's because i am not to much of a fan of contraption vehicle machines ( 7/10) .Mr.Slam: I have a lot of trouble playing as this vehicle, it's very slow and has a stiff handling, the special can be tricky because of requiring the freeze move to trap the enemies. Playing this vehicle give me a lot headache especially against Dark Tooth. The only thing i like about Mr Slam is it's driver because of it's ending. (5/10) .Shadow: I like this vehicle because of it's dark gloomy like hearse design, it's has a cool but risky special because it acts as a detonator weapon. It's speed it's decent but it's handling is awkward. Despite this, Shadow is a pretty cool car, along with it's driver. (7/10) . Hammerhead: Feels more sluggish than it's TM1 counterpart, it's design it's ok but i prefer more it's TM1 version. (5.5/10) .Outlaw 2: Better than it's TM1 counterpart since its special it's more refined and last a bit longer, i really like it's details too especially on the red/blue lights at the top. It's speed and handling are also better. Good improvement counterpart. (7.5/10) . Warthog: Nothing new about this version except a more detailed special and less ramming power in my opinion, it's a has bit of a sluggish feel and handling. (6/10) .Mr.Grimm: One of the best ones in the game, its special is still a almost one hit kill, it's speed, handling and agility makes one of the easiest vehicles to use but risky because of it's armor. (9.5/10) . Grasshopper: Has a charming colorful vibe to it, it looks more refined than Pit Viper but it's armor and special are one of the biggest problems in the game. It's handling and speed are ok but using Grasshopper can be tough. (6/10) .Thumper: One of the best cars to use in this game. It's speed, armor and handling are good and it's special feels more stronger. The only thing i didn't like its his design as i prefer it's TM1 design since it's pink color looks more complete. (9.5/10) . Spectre: As much as I have fun playing this car in TM2, i prefer it's TM1 counterpart since its appearance feels like an actual ghost car while in TM2 has those blue lines that kinda ruins it's aspect of being Spectre, despite all of this it has great speed, handling,good armor and it's special it's strong. (8/10) .Minion: The most OP vehicle in the game, it's pretty much the ultimate car of you're dreams. I really enjoyed playing as Minion simply because its chaotic, outstanding armor, speed, handling and great special. While the driver and car are pretty badass and terrifying, i still prefer Darkside and Mr.Ash since they feel more terrifyingly misterious (10/10) . Sweet Tooth: While it's special it's more refined in TM2, the vehicle has still sluggish handling, it's speed and armor are ok but playing as Sweet Tooth is very difficult because it has no password, I also hate the fact that it's not playable until you use a cheat code. (7/10) I know i sound like I talk negatively about TM2, but I like more Twisted Metal 1 because it feels more fast paced even though it has its downsides.

The only thing I dislike about TM2 is Mr. Spam freezing you every 3 seconds nonstop until you die! I don’t like to play Mr Slam at all because he just annoys me so much I do remember seeing Grasshopper when TM2 came out and thinking “oh yeah, just Pit Viper 2.0” Twister would’ve been awesome if you got i frames during her special

Doesn't grasshopper do damage to herself using her special as well? So she should have been docked points too

I thought Warthog in TM1 was great at everything. He could ram like Darkside but he also had a special that packed a punch and he wasn't the size of a barn.

The changes I would make would be to move Axle, Specter, and Thumper to A tier and Grasshopper to B tier but I agree with the rest. Grasshopper is very under rated and overlooked but if played right can be very deadly. I use her and clear board with ease. Axle, Specter, and Thumper just cant hang with Minion in S tier sorry.

Sweet tooth’s special hits like a ricochet though dude! I’d give it a 1 for the annoying laugh alone but it stuns the opponent, reloads super fast, homes in, and sends em back. Think about giving the poster child at least a C for me! Haha

Lets be real: Hammerhead would forever be trash. I mean just look at their drivers: The first game were two high school drop outs who only enter the tournament for decals on their ride. The second game are these stoners who were stupid enough to jump off a roof. The third game was an old lady . . . nuff said. And Head On was sone Duck Dynasty/Tiger King reject larping the Most Dangerous Game because he hunts catfish.

Only thing id change is twister is in trash tier her special hurts her. She gets frozen once and can be killed in one special by Mr. Slam or Axel if they ram spam her afterwards. Spector is A or B for those same reasons but his special is useable.
