Great walkthrough, you’re getting much better with it! BTW, I think you can remap your controls with the emulator UI, ofc it’s not as convenient as doing so with the game’s UI, but at least there’s an option, if something with controls constantly messes up your game. Additionally, since the game seemingly gets frustrating for you, I think you can try and switch to TM: Head-On for a moment, since you’ve already got your emulation up and running, that probably should be just a question of loading a different ROM, and then you could decide if maybe that game is more fun to you. At least it fixes some things you’ve mentioned, like it ditches this “Silent Hill-like” muddy shades of grey visuals, opting for a more TM2-like picture, and gets the game speed a bit tuned down. I feel like you could enjoy it a bit more.
It's really the steering that's gonna take time, and trying to understand how to go about properly countering everything. This game just tosses the player into the meat grinder. The frustration is just gonna be normal with a game like this, but I can't give up on it. A playthrough on Hard will be interesting though. I've heard Head-On is too easy and the Extra Twisted Edition makes it even easier, but I'll definitely put that on the list if you want to see a 1st time playthrough.
33:13 I find the optimal way to destroy Minion's shield is to be in the middle of the arena, let him come at you, shield, stand there and unload. It's possible to destroy all of his panels in quick succession if you have mega guns and a power missile or 2. 54:15 They don't need to be on the roof, they just need to be under the blimp that circles around the stage. I find it very situational and prefer saving the pickups for Snowy Roads. Also, you're doing pretty well at controlling this game for someone who's new to it, so I'm sure you'll get acclimated to the steering in due time.
Appreciate the support. This game doesn't give the best indication as to WTF is going on but I can see myself enjoying some of the challenge once I figure out a way to properly counter these bastards. The movement/steering is unique and bizarre. Will do another playthrough soon.
I haven't played it much, but I'm coming around to it. It's far more in-depth than any other TM game I've played, and because of the pacing it's unforgiving at times.
Glad to see you getting the hang of this game and starting to like it,it's a great game but it has 3 major flaws in my opinion. 1. The awful dark/brownish color palette that makes the visibility a nightmare. 2. The broken and downright brutal difficulty, which tends to scale drastically from the 2nd stage forward. 3. The story which is trash, the developers ditched the supernatural setting in favor of the edgy "muh dark" tone.
If you continue with crazy 8 try doing this with his special. Whatever direction the enemy you want to hit, push the button on the D pad 3 times, and then quickly press the shoot button. It does like twice as much damage. You did it by accident a couple times in this playthrough. Some characters have alternate specials, by pressing up on the D pad 3 times.
Thanks for the tip. I was wondering what the purple arc/sparks were. How you enjoying the first few playthroughs so far? It's the exact opposite of what I upload.
He seems honestly like a better Outlaw. Thought his special was shit the first time I played with him because I didn't realize you had to mash the trigger button. He seems to deflect some damage when using too, but that could just be me? I'm gonna do one more medium playthrough then I will try a recorded attempt on Hard.
Learning this game is gonna take some time because it doesn't give much breathing room to figure out who does what. Granted I can play endurance and learn from there. Wish the game was more colorful to help indicate things. It definitely becomes something more enjoyable after learning how to control these...things.
