My social studies teacher told me to find a song that was about how the American colonists felt about Britain leading up to the Revolutionary War. I found it.
My dog ALWAYS picks on my ferrets, snaps at them and bullies them (even tho I keep them separated 98% of the time). Finally my ferret fought back. After 3 years. I like to think this is his anthem.
@Smokey Mcb . i thinks its about lgbt rights since he is in drag, has makeup on and was arguing with his conservative dad. Sabotaging your country by spreading a pandemic is different mandates poll over 70% here. some people are just babies.
@@timtebone1843 This is an 80's song, he's not in drag, a lot of men dressed like that back in the day, and wore makeup. Especially on stage. Straight men, too. I remember it well. The good old days!
i love this song because it can represent anyone being taken advantage of. a kid being bullied at school, a teen/kid with abusive parents, a person who gets discriminated against or oppressed because of their race/religion/sexuality/class etc, survivors of s*xual/physical/emotional abuse, even just an angsty teen who wants to destroy the world. just dont let this society get you down and let assholes f*ck with you. i love that.
Gp back and watch your old movies like demolition man and look at the way the world is going yea you will wake up and be oh shit we are being controlled time to fight back before it happens
Baseball5581 - I didn't. They all pay pretty much the same anyway. I got fired from my last job (of probably hundreds in my life) because I told my boss I wanted to fight him to see if he was as tough as he acted. It feels great, you should try it😀
Alexander Anderson - I got another job. In fact, I make more money and I'm not stressed out anymore so I feel much better mentally and physically. I told my new boss exactly why I got fired from my last job and he said "I completely understand, I would've done the same thing."

10 years later and this song has such a completely different meaning for me! It was a stand against society song back then but now it is just so much more. Thank you for listening to this 10 years later.
@@patriousthefallenknight3185 . its basically a trans rights song lmao. ever seen the video. its not about crying in a pandemic. its about replacing your fake macho image of militaristic conservative lmao... The guy is basically in drag, he has makeup on.. But keep rearranging reality cause youll take a drug test but not get a shot. you'll choose the destiny of trans people but not wear a mask in a pandemic and cry victim all day.. search Legion of Decency.
This and Tom Petty's I Won't Back Down, I admit at the time of those songs I didn't know the meaning , but I was a young kid, now I love both of those songs
Somebody started bullying my friend and as soon as she told me about the dude, I went up to hom and told him: "If you so much as think of trying to talk to any of my friends like that one more time, so help me God I will make you regret it." That's all it took. We haven't been bullied since and that was maybe 2 years ago. Good friends are important, take care of them.
Nah don’t be the ones making this pandemic even more difficult. I think people are old enough to know if they want to be vaccinated or not, BY THEMSELVES.

I never realized how deep this song's lyrics were until now, because I always thought it was just a goofy song with a goofy music video. But I like it!
Yeah I thought it was a lame metal song when I first heard it back in the 80s. Wow has it become relevant today! And not just today, throughout all history, this could have been a rallying song.
@@doncarlin9081Even back in the '80s. A lot of people understood the meaning of this song because of the very specific reason it was created, the very band that made this song around the time they were making it was fighting for the rights of metal music, I don't know any of the details but bands that mostly or entirely produced metal music were not treated fairly and it was these people that changed that

But you can push people only so far before they snap. What's going on today reminds me of the Soviet Union's response to the 1956 Hungarian uprisings. It wasn't "reprogramming" then, it was "reeducation camps" that those with unacceptable Western views were sent to. Or murdered outright. History likes to repeat itself.
