Hartland Quay certainly is a beautiful place, SB. I was there twice last year and will definitely be going this year. The amazing rock formations verify the geological upheaval that took place in this area many millions of years ago.
Surprised you've never been there before but better late than never. Hartland Quay is a perfect destination for us for a long day out, just the right distance, great roads to get there, nice pub lunch and they don't charge bikes for the car park. Nice drone shots again
I’m surprised myself. I did go there a few years ago on the Zed, but there was a long queue at the toll booth so I figured it would be heaving and turned around. So glad Mark suggested it, it’s quite breathtaking. Thank you kindly JRM 🙂👍🏼
What a lovely day for a bimble out on the bike! 🙂 The back of that number plate was a bit filthy though 🤣 These little trips out are the ones you alway remember in years to come 😉👍🏻👌🏻
What a wonderful ride. You made me jump when you got to the little pay booth as I suddenly remembered why I knew where you were. I did a season or so of motorcycle hillclimbing and Hartland Quay was one of the venues, starting in the car park at the bottom of the hill and finishing just before the top car park, that was were we would hold while all the other bikes and outfits came up the hill. It was always out of season, never warm and often ..... moist.
Ah yes, Mark said they did hill climbing there. I thought about going to watch it whenever it’s on, but if it’s during the winter…. Twinks tells me I’ll be going to Hartland Quay again, with her 🤣 That’s ok though, there are worse places. Thanks Neil Jeff
Bloody stunning ride and destination. Never been there either. I bought my daughter the same colours leather jacket you are wearing. I have sold most my one piece suits and other leathers and now wear Kevlar jeans and my old leather jacket purchased in 1989. Lewis leathers. Trousers don’t fit no more😁, the waist has shrunk! I dubbin and polish the jacket and I feel well comfy riding in that garb as I prefer taking in the scenery and the senses now. Another great Sunday lol around cheers
Thank you for doing that ride 🙏 I wasn't sure what that road would be like but it seems OK. No nasty high drop offs. I'll definitely give it a go when I get a bike 😊 Fab video ❤
You picked a lovely day to go there, always blowing a bleddy hooley when I've been!😂 If you've never seen it, Hartland Hill climb is worth seeing, in April and October as I remember. Its a one at a time sprint against the clock for bikes. They start in the hotel carpark, sprint up the road and finish on the brow of the hill. Awesome! 😊
It was one of those days where everything just worked (apart from a camera pointing at a boot). Mark told me they do hill climbs there. I bet that’s a spectacle. I’ll have to try and remember to watch out for it. Cheers Ken 🙂👍🏼
Great video! Hartland Quay is certainly on my list now. Woolacombe to Puttsborough is one of my favourite stretches ........ looks like I'll be stretching that to Hartland now 😊 Cheers, Phil
Thanks Phil! It’s got to be worth the extra miles. Just breathtakingly beautiful. There’s several nice spots along the coast there. Welcombe Mouth and Bucks Mills are also worth a visit. Be safe 🙂 Jeff
Looks like a lovely ride, SB 😊. Funnily enough, we rode up there for the first time a few weeks ago in the same type of weather. The geology was spectacular, and so was the ice cream 👍.
Breathtaking isn’t it 🙂 I didn’t have an ice cream, but my better half informed me that I’ll be going again, with her 🤣 Maybe I’ll get one then. Thanks Chris 👍🏼 Jeff
I'm "forced" to go to Hartland Quay every week with my job, and every time I drop down the hill it's just "WOW, this place is epic". Pretty sure you were there the same day I walked to Speke's Mill from Hartland with my daughter.
Cor, corker of a day... all rides should have that funshine! 🙂 Ha... people question if the RE bikes have enough go... def prooved they do in this vid! 😀 You are very lucky having all this wonderful countryside and small villages and twiddly roads on your doorstep mate :-)
I didn’t want it to end, Pete. Such a good day. Great fun on these little bikes, legally 😀 I never take the area I live in for granted. I just love it 🙂 Thanks Hippo 🍻
What a lovely bimble through some quaint towns and villages then down to the seaside. The drone footage was epic, then we were treated to the heartbeat and pulse of two Classic 500's as they sound there way home. Well done !!
This was a fast ride Saddle. Enjoyed it a lot. It is impressive that there are quite a lot phone booths still left. You were leaning quite a lot. :) Wonderful twisties, really. Finally some stunning views to the sea. p.s. Cam angles were great. By the way. Drop by in the evening, we are going "vintage". :)
It always amazes me the scenery you find over there, we’ll except when you got lost in the neighborhood. It also (and this is coming from an American) impressive how you guys handle all those small roads with 2 way traffic.
Ah I love coming to places like this for the first time. Just so beautiful. Yea, the lanes are perfectly normal for us. I would be lost on your wide open roads 🤣 Thanks Goofy 👍🏼
Ahhh, Tescos by the bins. That most romantic of all locations. A lovely ride in perfect weather. I can't remember the last time I rode one of my bikes without the wind trying to tear my head off, this year has been terrible for motorcycling over here. Not too much rain but always bloody windy ! Now we have a lovely combination of both rain AND wind 🤬 Nice to see Ernie stretching his legs a bit in this one 🙂 That was a fun ride to a beautiful destination. A great day and location for some awesome drone footage, which you duly delivered. I ended up buying a cheapo claw mount by the way because RAM don't have an EU store, just a USA and UK one. Buying stuff from the UK is a total PITA these days, so I currently don't have an easy way of purchasing the RAM version. I'll see how the cheapo one fares for now and might go through the hassle of buying a RAM mount from the UK if the cheapo one is a waste of space. You'll be in Oirland now I believe, hope all is going well, and you are enjoying your trip. I do mention you and your trip a couple of times in a future video btw. but by the time that video comes out, you should already be back 😂 That's the trouble with this here RU-vid time travel lark. Cheers Jeff, stay safe and have a Guinness for me ! El Otro y Rubita bonita ❤🐕
Aye, we’re back. Very different weather to what you are experiencing. I hope it picks up soon. I’m sure the cheap claw mount will be fine. I use one from time to time and it’s fine. Ah I haven’t seen any vids for 10 days or so, but I’ll catch up when I can. Thanks El Otro. Much love to you two from us two 😎👍🏼
Absolutely stunning video. I love Cornwallshire I do. But where were all the caravans? 😉 loved every bit . Noticed you made good progress. Did you hit the rev limiter? These Bullets do the potter and the spirited so so well. Loved it I did.
Trust me, the caravans will be here soon enough 🫤 Ah so much fun on these bikes. Nowhere near the limiter though, we didn’t exceed 60 😇 Thank you CyL, glad you enjoyed 🙂
Great ride in great weather. I went out today, on the Classic 350, in similar weather through Axminster, Honiton, Sidmouth, Budleigh Salterton to Exmouth and it was glorious. What is that little `chinking` sound on you bike? It sounds like a little bell ringing, particularly in the first half of the video.
Ah good stuff 👍🏼 Nothing better is there? This was one of those days I didn’t want to end. That annoying sound: When I bought the bike I had heated grips fitted. I later realised they must have been shorter than the originals, which left a gap between the grip and bar end weight. I found some mountain bike headset spacers to be the same diameter as the bar end weight, and glued them in place to be rid of the unsightliness. The left hand one has finally let go, hence the tinkle 🤣
@@Saddlebags73 It really was a great ride and one that I didn`t want to end. Weather is set fair for a few more days, yay. Oh I see, that explains it, thanks. I thought it might just be something loose on the bike. Looking forward to more rides that that one. Cheers.
I can also hear a tinkling sound from old Ernie as your riding along, is it the levers tinkling or somut else? If you know SB please let me know as I’m very interested to know if you know what the tinkling is? 🙂
Ah yes, I do know what the tinkling sound is. When I had the heated grips fitted I noticed it left a gap between the grip and bar end weight. I overcame the unsightliness by glueing a mountain bike headset spacer to the bar end. It’s broken the bond, hence the annoying ting ting ting 🤦🏻♂️
@@Saddlebags73 I think sadist carn would love that scheme! I saw you on the live chat With Exeter Rider, Noobiker, EpicAdam and TAYM. I watch a lot of different YT channels and it's a pleasure to hear various English accents. I normally get blasted by quick talking US bods who intersperse their videos with loud drums and guitars about 4 times louder than the actual video footage.😀
@@simonchilli2088 Thank you very much for dropping in. I’m afraid I use music myself sometimes, but only if I feel it necessary. Ie no talk and too much wind noise.
I e only had breakfast at Louis tearooms, but it was lovely. There’s The Engine Room nearby that does really nice grub. Enjoy! I should be in Cork on Monday.
Well, what a breath of fresh air, Your winter vlogs weather wise were very depressing, wet, then wet, then wet, but this, ACE MAN! Hate to play The Headmaster but do re-check your drone flying laws, page 105, chapter 82, para 15/b, height above persons and nesting birds!!! Otherwise, thank you for everything You do and enjoy the Craic over dare!!!🏖
It’s so good to get back to this sort of thing. The winters are loooooonnnnnnggg 😏 Thanks DD 👍🏼 I’ll check the rules and regs again, but the mini is exempt from most being under 250grms. I was mindful of the birds and they seemed quite happy 🙂
What a fantastic place and how to get two new subscribers the SB73 way 😃 I do hope and I think you are doing Ireland on Ernie the fastest Bullet in theLand 👍
Haha, I did actually give them a sticker so they better be on board 🤣 I took the Witch to Ireland as I already had luggage for it. Mark took his Bullet, and I was jealous at times. The Himmy was great though 🙂👍🏼
I know what you mean about the 'longer videos don't get any views thing' but then when you do a shorter video, people go 'uuhhh, where's the riding footage' Can't win, so I've been trying doing a section of just riding at the end. See how that goes. ps loving the handlebar clock. Pukka.
“Can’t win” You’re quite right. Not only can you not please everyone (I stopped trying long ago) but it also depends how the powers that be handle your content. I don’t believe anyone has sussed out this algorithm. Some people study the analytics meticulously and get nowhere. It’ll only ever be a hobby for me and I’m perfectly okay with that 🙂 Ah the stem nut clock. Another of Hitchcocks temptations 🤣 Thanks CMD
