Motovlogs, Humour, Green lanes, Historical, Topical, Trips out, Drone footage, Reviews. As you can probably make out, my channel is rather random. I'm sure if you look hard enough, there is something there for most people. I ride a Kawasaki Nomad VN1500, a Royal Enfield Classic 500 Chrome/Graphite (my fave) and a Royal Enfield Himalayan. I enjoy the interaction with viewers so feel free to comment.
Women navigators ehh...Although better on the eye than blokes! 😉👍 I seen Steve at the ABR Festival...Bizarrely enough he was doing some arty farty stuff on a log with a chainsaw! 😮🤣👍
I suppose they do. I would suggest Redruth rather than an area of outstanding natural beauty 🤣 All okay here thank you. A bit going on so apologies for falling behind on your channel. I promise to catch up when things settle 🙏🏻
Lovely laid back natural video mate, just perfectly sums up the emotional aspect of motorcycling, and on a bike which whilst not matching contemporary bikes on the conventional front, punches a mile above its weight on the emotive front. After watching this, I am now seriously tempted to buy one to pog around on the lanes on Exmoor where I live. A couple of years ago I owned a Ducati Hyperstrada and one day "for no particular reason" (sorry Forest Gump) I decided that instead of scratching the sh*t out of it I would follow a piece of advice my late father told me which was" 45 to 50 miles an hour is a wonderful speed on a motorbike" of course in my 20s I thought he was daft but 25 years on from that I woke up one beautiful warm summer day and wondered if his message held a secret that in 300k miles of motorcycling I had simply missed out on, so that day I put on an open faced helmet and forced myself to take my normal routes across the moor at a maximum of 50 mph and it was one of the most enjoyable rides I have ever taken in my entire life. I was a bit freaked out on the corners because my brain was computing them at much higher speeds so mI screwed up the lines but apart from that, I learned a valuable lesson. Speed is not actually the real spiritual centre of biking, we think it is for a long time but really it is not, it is really what you have shown here on this video, and if we all chilled out and just absorbed the beauty of nature and had time to contemplate how lucky wee are to be able to just ride a characterful bike, many of us could find more contentment than giving into our egos.
Possibly one of the nicest comments I’ve had the pleasure of reading, thank you very much indeed. I’m in total agreement that the change in pace is tricky to begin with, certainly when riding a quick bike slowly. But the enjoyment it brings almost comes as a shock. *edit* oops! Hit the send key before I finished. Anyway thanks again and I hope you continue to enjoy your steady rides. All the best Jeff
Now you know... I was right even 2 years ago when I first mentioned your "Vietnam mission" when you were riding in the "so-called Jungle fields" with your BMW friend (he had an old GS). You see... now you are already on a firing range. This is so connected. :) Joke bro. Great video. I enjoyed. Do not attempt to use your drone there. :)
Very nice ride Jeff. It looked like Ernie might have gotten a bit mucky on this one. He's still sounding great though ! Love to you and Twinks from Spain, Garry & Ruby
Just enjoying this with my morning coffee in blazing sun in the garden. Since you’re ok camping why not try a stealth camp there one weekend with ER and Curious Goose? I reckon you could get a cracking bit of content and lots of publicity if you timed it right😉
Nice to hear the sun is out…my son is in Snowdonia for the next few days. I’ve done plenty of stealth camping but I’m not sure the firing range is the best place for it 😮 Probably go live in the middle of the night and give us a rude awakening 🤣 Good idea for another part of the moor though 😊 Thank you CyL 👍🏼
G’day Jeff, it’s always great watching you ride these beautiful roads over your way. This video reminded me of my days as a pilot, we had military training areas that had to be avoided when active, when active a thing called a NOTAM was issued. You had to find this document buried amongst a lot of other documents although some had a permanent avoidance area around them, back when I was flying. Flying over these areas at the wrong time would have ended in the same way as meeting the red baron 🫣🤣🤣. I hope everything is going great with you & twinks. Take care mate. Bah Bah & Hooroo 🏍👍😎
Hello my friend 👋🏼 That’s interesting. I haven’t never thought whether or not the skies over the ranges are restricted…hmm I wonder 🤔 All good this end thank you Neil. Hope you’re well and managing to get some riding in. Hooroo and bah bah 😎👍🏼👋🏼
Nice to see and hear Ernie out on a run, the perfect soundtrack for exploring the lanes. I expect Ernie needed a good wash down and polish after going down those lanes.
I've always considered it shameful that the military are allowed to blow holes in what is one of the most beautiful, unusual, and iconic national parks on the planet. Of course that all started before Dartmoor became a national park but in this day and age I firmly believe the government should reconsider its use as a training area. I know they have to train somewhere but there are hundreds of remote areas in this country which are not listed in tourist guides as a place that must be visited. There have been many instances in the past where people and animals have fallen foul of ordnance left behind, albeit inadvertently, by the military. Reply
I haven't been south of the moor much, I must make a point of having a bimble around down there sometime. I gave me a little perverse pleasure to see Ernie splash through the occasional puddle...... I could just see you grimacing in my minds eye! 😁😜🤣
There’s some good exploring around there. Hahaa yes it does pain me a little riding through the messy lanes on Ernie, but I spoil him afterwards 😊 Cheers Ken 👍🏼
Ernie! ❤ Like heaven sent to enjoy the rumble since momentarily I am deprived of that privilege😢 Perfect bike to bring to a fire range - "made like a gun"😁 Keep on firing the bullet, my friend!
Ey up A crowd of us were camping on the edge of Exmoor recently and took a ride through Dartmoor. Sitting there having a brew and an ex-serviceman pal told me he completed some orienteering and survival training somewhere on the Moor. He couldn’t remember exactly where cos he got lost 😂😂
Wosson Sbagsy boy? Great to see Ernie making short work of those Devon lanes. Lucky to get away uninjured ! They never should've allowed those Heathens over the border fouling pieces ! Can you imagine ER running around armed, with or without his duds ! Geddon Pard and DFD.
I always feel sorry for poor Ernie when I see you riding him along these mucky lanes, then I think of all the cleaning and polishing you need to do when you get him home. I suppose soldiers have got to play soldiers somewhere and given the range of some of their shells it makes sense to do it on a large open rugged expanse. They did a similar thing up North training the Commandos for WWII, sadly they seem to have used the trainees as human targets 😯😰😕😖😢 I hope Twinks is also getting out and about to make hay while the sun shines 🌞😊
I always feel bad subjecting Ernie to the messy lanes, but yes he does get spoilt afterwards. Yes there’s several stories of soldiers being killed in training exercises, sadly 😞 Twinks and haven’t had many opportunities to ride together this year, but hopefully that’ll change soon. Many thanks Mr Wolf, love to both 👍🏼
It's always gorgeous being on Dartmoor. You get the sense of even the roads being there hundreds of years, not in their present form. Are you allowed to watch from the carpark when they're fring?
Yes I love Dartmoor in whatever conditions. Definitely a sense of timelessness up there. You can be at the car park when the range is live but I don’t know how much you’d see. Might pop up there with my binoculars one day 😎 Thanks Lily 🙏🏻
