Two Cores and a Gigabyte of VRAM...

Some PCs have managed to escape the inflated prices of everything right now. This is the story of my cheap Fujitsu computer that I didn't really want, and couldn't really upgrade. None the less it surprised me a little and reminded me of better times for budget PC gamers...
Thanks for watching :)

The ridiculous thing is that we are in a chip shortage where everything computer-related has skyrocketed in price. Yet, at the same time I have been able to dig up two perfectly functional computers in our apartment complex's recycling room. The first computer, a Core i5 4770k, 16GB DDR3, GTX760, 550W 80+ Bronze 1TB SSHD, No problem, whatsoever. Second computer: Core i3 7100, 8GB DDR4 GTX1050Ti, 500W 80+ Bronze, no HDD. Very filthy, One of the fans on the GPU seems to have started to fail (probably due to dust buildup or something), making the computer twice as loud as it should be. I bought two SSDs, and replacement fans+shroud for the GTX1050Ti (13$ on eBay)... I dismantled every component, cleaned them up. Now the computers look and feel like new. It absolutely BLOWS my mind that people are throwing away good computers like these without hesitation. Just the amount of unnecessary e-waste people cause in the west is mind blowing and gets my blood pumping. xD

It's insane to say the least. Twice a year in my building we have a "junk amnesty", basically the residents are allowed to drop off there unwanted stuff in the parking lot and its taken away. I've lost count how many perfectly fine computers and electronics were being tossed out. This last one I found HP Pavilion 23-p029c that works perfectly. I cleaned it up and sold it to someone in need of an office pc.

This is the thing with old systems like these; they can still be enjoyed by someone rather than being needlessly disposed of, if expectations are managed. Something like this, for example would also make a great emulation system (MAME, etc) as well as playing less-demanding or older PC games.

It was the awakening of my passion for cooking that drove me away from drawing and 3D modeling, but when i turned it on it gave me chills seeing my old Aspire filled with Maya and Blender files, i can't believe ho much time i spent, 800gb wort of 3d stuff, 12 gb of doodles. Couldnt touch skyrim though and I was too technically illiterate to mod/config files. It did fine though 1g dedicated is tons better than old integrated intel. I am talking when Garrys mod had that toybox for mods. Probably 2011-13. Probably a amd 6870 or 7700 etc. It does feel weird going back mentally to when i didnt feel comfortable taking apart and putting together a computer. Its really not difficult its only a issue when BIOS/mobo starts protesting. Oh and sometimes i bruise myself inserting some cpu coolers due to clamp being too tight.

Videocard choice was pretty limited due to the proprietary non upgradable psu, also I remember that we used an arctic freezer 7 rev 2 cooler for the i7 and had a pretty difficult time mounting it on the mainboard, it was running quite hot with that cooler as well. Overall it's allright for the money but it's definitely somewhat limited. The stock cooler that it comes with is very bad btw, it can't cool down a cpu over 65w.

The least to consider in buying any new PC or even a used PC . You need to always look for the 4 cores with 4 threads least to have less problems in system If you are a gamer IMO. I work by the way on a Pentium dual core which is E5700 3.00 GHZ and on board ASUS P5G41 C-MLX not bad for making PC work smooth on a NIVIDIA GT710 DDR3 2G and tried without the card and work on the Intel card which for a game like online games are never worked example like [warframe] this game could only play it on low at the GT 710 card. I am like enjoy having still support on this card and for the price of components . I start the look for monitor first to upgrade from IPS60 monitor to 144 and this will be a lot of difference. Enjoyed the review man.

I've been playing a lot of older games on my 2016 dual core Intel HD laptop recently. Torchlight for example runs solidly. So do a lot of 2D games like Space Colony, or the old Sierra city builders, or even newer titles like Terraria. Then games like Sins of a Solar Empire can be tweaked down to run decently as well. 3D FPS titles tend to be a bit more demanding but UE2 engine titles run pretty well, haven't tested it with UE3 yet though, and while I wouldn't run Doom 3 on it I can sure as hell run GZDoom or PRBoom for that more classic gameplay. Works good for most titles on DOSbox as well. It helps that a 15" screen doesn't look too bad at 1360x768 so I can take a lot of strain from higher resolution off the GPU (and save some battery during blackouts). It CAN do 1080p, but why bother if it looks fine at a lower resolution (and in some cases has a far more readable UI)? A good gaming machine can be made even from potatoes, if one's willing to stick behind the curve and replay (or play for the first time) games from an older era.

I bought Fujitsu esprimo on ebay half a year ago for just 100 euro. It has Core I5-4460, 2x4GB RAM and 1TB SSHD. I put SSD in there as well. I only have to buy GPU for this PC and it will be pretty good piece of hardware.

Nice! This is pretty similar to the PC my brother is using at the moment, except it got the i3-2100 & 4GB of RAM. I wonder if you were to upgrade the CPU to a i5 like the 2400 or 2500, maybe a i7-2600, how would it perform with the 8GB of RAM & GTX 750 1GB. Edit: another possibility then would be something newer than the GTX 750, like maybe a RX 550 2GB?

What a great video showing kids / parents etc that you needn’t spend $£€ thousands for young kids to get into basic gaming with many free to play titles 🥰👍🥳 and older titles which can picked up for a few $£€ 👍☺️

This seems pretty similar to system before I did a bunch of upgrades to it. i3-2100 and an RX460 in a Dell Optiplex 990. For some reason I expected it to perform worse, but no, that's exactly how I remember it :3

Looks like there could be some upgradeable parts in there - that power supply looks SFX-sized, which is a shame as those are so expensive. I wonder if it's possible to fit a small ATX power supply in there, like a Corsair CV 550? You mentioned the motherboard is proprietary - will a mATX board from, say, MSI, fit instead? Or are the motherboard fittings in stupid locations that won't correspond to standard mATX fittings?

One time I found a dell g5 5000 with an i3-10100 and 16gb ram with a 1tb hdd for only $100. So lucky I had a spare gpu. Best $100 system I have experienced.

I gave away my old "gaming" laptop to my niece when he was a 5th grader. Now in HS, he is a strategy game specialist! Games like stronghold crussaders, age of empire, red allert, etc, old games that can be played for long hours (thus, many strategy games) 🔥🔥🔥

Couple months ago I picked up a hp z420 workstation on eBay for 150. Threw in some cheap server memory to bump it from 8 to 32 gbs in qaud channel mode and threw in a ssd for a boot drive and a bunch of sketchy hard drives for game storage and now I have a 6 core 12 thread monster 😂 Also had to pick up a gpu, managed to find a gtx 960 4gb for 100 and it plays everything at acceptable fps and settings for under 500.
