Despite being an "unknown spec" graphics card, the seller somehow knew that it could handle the latest games at 1080p, 1440p, and 4K. Today we're going to find out what I've bought and how badly I've been ripped off.
The word "degenerate" comes to mind. As if the used market wasn't dead enough, we have people like that to kick the corpse. It's even worse here in my country.
Looks more like a network problem. Additionally, having a faulty SSD, can cause the server to report a sky-high ping and warn you about it. I know that a Halo Custom Edition dedi server with you having a faulty SSD, can report a satellite-like ping and warn you, LOL.
Half of the time when people claim "it can get x amount of fps in x resolution in the newest games" it just feels like the "newest" games to them are half life two and pong
First time in 20 years I can afford a top-of-the-line PC and I still keep watching the same channel that shows love to functional hardware. As a person that lives in the third world, I will always feel respect for people that dedicate themselves to finding new homes for used gear.
First time in my life I'm making enough money and could afford to buy a top-of-the-line PC, but thanks to cryptominers everything is so expensive and unavailable, that a 1050ti is selling for double what I have paid 4 years ago... :(
Maybe they are from people like me that don't believe a good AAA game has been released in the past 10 years (with the exception of Fallout 4 possibly), no longer have a reason to buy new graphics cards anyway and therefore don't consider the content as necessary from their perspective. No, me personally, I never dislike the hard work of any content creator, but with the exception of a few indie games, the PC games industry has completely sucked for more than a decade now anyway. That just means I play older games now, but I get why many other people are unhappy with the whole games industry. 4K is also just a gimmick.
@@terrydaktyllus1320 Lots of good AAA games have been released last decade, although I am sick and tired of this "release now, fix later" trend. But there are new games that make my 1070 suffer, like rdr2, gotta turn everything down to medium to get consistent 60 fps @1080p. You're right about 1 thing though, older games are somehow more enjoyable than most of the modern games. I recently finished FO3 and was really impressed with it. Still have new vegas and FO4 to go through, and still wondering how most modern game devs with the best available resources can't do better. Don't know about 4k, but 1080p to 1440p makes a great difference for something like 27"
To be honest, the difference between 4K and 1080p is minimal (law of diminishing returns). But I do like 4K videos. I don't game, or play AAA though. Just here to see low spec technology working hard. :)
I watch all his content for his personality and way of speaking. He has such a pleasing voice. I have a 3090 for simulations and never play games, aside from a few hours of Far Cry 6 a week 👍
Have you considered comparing the GTX 780 with the 970? They have very similar performance on DX11 games, but the 780 gets humiliated on anything running on DX12. I think it would make an interesting video.
@@user-wq9mw2xz3j I also have a RX 580 and even with the limiting amount of 4GB of VRAM I can play most games at 1440p smoothly (above 60 FPS with medium or high settings). This gpu is just awesome
@@rundattmedia2106 It's still a good card. A lot of FUD was and still is written and said of it, but in reality there isn't any game I've seen where the split VRAM design has any relevant performance implications. It's why initial reviews never noticed anything, the design actually works rather well. NVIDIA's PR was certainly terrible (whether deliberately misleading or not, we'll probably never know), but that doesn't detract from the 970's decent overall performance. Checking reviews of much newer cards, many of them have proportionally far worse 1% and 0.1% Lows for numerous games than a 970 included in the same charts, yet the newer cards are never criticised. GN has a number of reviews showing this. Thus, if you're stuck for a GPU and need something to get by, a 970 is still a solid choice. Friend of mine had a 980 Ti running at 1440p, it sadly died last year, so I loaned him a 970; he's not had any issues, just the lower general performance that one would expect. FYI I'm in the process of replacing it with a reference type 1080 wihch cost 350, from a company which still has a few available (eight remaining I think); if anyone's interested post a reply and if RGHD's ok about it I'll post a link to the relevant page (it's a major server company that usually deals with Quadros and Teslas, but they ended up getting thirteen 1080s recently). What was never made clear enough back when the 970 row kicked off was that, for those games where a particular combination of resolution and detail settings might use significantly more than 3.5GB RAM, the general performance would usually be too low for the 970 to handle the game that well anyway, ie. one would already more likely want something inherantly faster if VRAM usage was nearing 4GB. HUB uses words like "unplayable" to describe such average frame rates (though to me they're fine, being the old git I am who's used to SLI configs for Crysis, Stalker and Oblivion), in which case issues concerning any apparent stuttering are somewhat moot. What bugs me is when I see 970 results in fps chart that have a very narrow spread between 0.1% and avg, while newer cards in the same charts have a much wider spread but nobody talks about them being terrible. It doesn't make any sense. The red & black MSI 970 (Gaming X probably) is a particularly good model, runs very quiet. The various EVGA ACXs are ok but do have a bit more discernable fan noise.
does really look like the ASUS GTX760, had one in my previous build, enjoyed some GTA V, Skyrim and Witcher 3, aside from other games, although it's suited more for just 1080p. 200 pounds is actually what I paid for it too! but it was 7 years ago!
@@kodoboto451 same with my backup r9 270. Lack of driver support is killing a perfectly good card, it won't even stary FH5. My mining friend just hooked me up with his "old" gtx 1070ti, the least efficient of his mining cards. ..so he sort of saved the day.
Some sellers here in my country write description like 'beast pc' with Rx 560 or 570, and when you ask from them to upload fps screenshot or video, they always finding some ridiculous excuses... Bunch of idiots
Only, it's not. It's specifically optimized for either low-end hardware, brand spanking new top-level hardware or consoles. I'm running the game on an i5-8400 (recommend spec), RTX 2070, 32GB DC RAM and installed on a Samsung 970 Evo 1TB. I'm using the High preset, in 1440P, capped at 60FPS and *struggle* to have a seamless experience. Constantly stuttering or constantly crashing if I open the wrong app like Spotify or Logitech G Hub. I've repaired my game files, reinstalled the game, ran it as administrator, even went as far as to run the game on Low with nearly all my unnecessary background apps closed. But, only to still suffer the exact same stutters. One of my friends that is running a i5-10600k, 3060Ti, 32GB DC RAM also with the game installed on an M.2, same graphics settings as I'm using, is noticing the same issues. But, on the other hand, the only other person we play with (that's on a PC) is on an i7-7700k, GTX 980, 16GB of *SC* RAM and has FH5 installed on an old Western Digital HDD. He's playing in 1080P, High preset with essentially unlimited FPS. No stutters or crashes. The game runs great on some hardware no one was expecting, I'll give the developers that. But there are so many inconsistencies within mid-level to mid-high-level hardware that saying the game is optimized well, as a whole, is a stretch. Thats not even mentioning the fact that if you bought the game on the Xbox app/Microsoft Store, your textures are bugged to shit and have even worse performance issues than those on Steam. And, yes, my group went for the Xbox App route. Majority pre-ordered the game too..
The GTX 760… I got this card (the exact one from ASUS) as used in the vid. It was a free replacement for my MSI TwinFROZR 660 Ti which had broken down back in 2013. I am still using this graphics card in a “NAS PC” build I did in August 2021, just because GPU prices are so damn high and I’m not paying €150 to €250 for a used GTX 1050 Ti. I am often surprised of what this card is still capable to do so many years later. Although describing this card as 4K gaming capable is somewhat very overestimating. The card is obviously built for decent 1080p gaming. The only issue with the ASUS GTX 760 was probably that it ran a little hot at times. My comment might not have much to do with your vid but the card brought up some great memories. :-) Thanks for your great videos without going over the top with special effects.
Hey I just want to ask cause I can't take it out of my mind. Did you just pause a video about playing the old GTA Vice City because the client for GDE won't go online? I no longer see the video but would like to know the music playing on that video.
That looks like an ASUS Direct CUII. I had one that in SLI with an EVGA card (not ideal, I know). The 2GB was the limiting factor on those cards. At the time of there release though 2GB was plenty. It was a great little card that ran surprisingly cool compared to other 760's.
This put tears in my eye as my ASUS GTX 760 (literally the same thing you got here) died about 1 and a half months ago after its 7 years of service to me. And rn I am stuck with a 3rd gen intel integrated graphics…
If anyone knows or have experienced the same problems and have a solution pls let me know. The fans spin and it gives out video output from its hdmi port. Win10 shows me a code43 and no, I have tried 5 different drivers (using DDU in safe mode). I at best got it to give me artifacts but it still wouldn’t work.
I really like your videos in general. Specifically for this video I decided to leave a like and a comment because perhaps it might be more recommended and you could get something back from the ads.
Love your stuff. One request though, would you be able to say in the audio what card it actually was. Sometimes I like to just listen to your dulcet tones but I had to rewind and watch after I’d listened to the whole video and realised I still didn’t know what card it actually was 😂
The second I saw the thumbnail I was like "no freaking way that can run anything beyond 1080p med settings at the best of times". To my credit, it probably could run 4k PowerPoint slide show.
This is actually kind of good news for me. I still have a functioning (just checked) EVGA GeForce GTX 760 SC 4GB sitting in the back of my closet. With GPU prices being the way they are stilling having a functional 760 along with my still working old 1050 Ti It's good to know I have viable backups if and when my 1660 Super goes t*ts up.
I've never really had a graphics card go tits up. You worried about it? I've got a 1070 that has been ripping since 2017 at a brutal overclock and it still works great.. I feel like a dick sometimes because I've collected so many video cards over the years and don't have the desire to sell them... I've got an RTX 3060, a 6700 XT, a 1070, a 1050, a 770, and then uhm.. well, a collection of much older video cards, including 8800s, 9800 pro, ATI HD series, and even a Geforce 2 - not that those cards are relevant anymore. Good to have fallbacks in case of failure - that was the strat, but, now that I think of it, I've never really had a failure.
@@gwils7879 Having and not using these cards is a huge waste. Use Thema for mining vor sell them. You could even buy them back later and make a profit.
I've got a Titan non black and a 980ti that hold their own in the games I playusually around 75 to 120 fps medium high 1080p Had the 980ti from new egg new a month after launch. As for the Titan I bought that used about 6 months ago the guy didn't know if it worked or not. Just goes to show if you keep your cards clean repaste and new pads every now and again they'll take care of you for a while
Does that card actually support 4k 60 Hz? It doesn't have HDMI 2, and unless you have a monitor with Display-Port, you can't even use it as an basic video-adapter at 4K 60Hz.
@@icanlevitateoff anything to inconvenience them must be worth it in my mind. I would make sure to keep the GPU right up until the 30 days guarantee is about to run out. Anything to make life hard for them. I really hate sellers like this on eBay, fortunately the vast majority are okay in my experience.
Hey mate i just bought a rig i3 3220 - Sapphire HD6790 - 8GB DDR3 Dual - 240GB SSD - 400W PSU for 80£ (1000₺ in my country) what do you think? A good deal or a waste?
I see so many ads with people making crazy claims what their PC can do. I always message them and call them out on their lies. I feel bad for people who fall for it without doing research.
It can if you turn in game resolution scaling to 50% and enable the correct resolution in Nvidia control panel. If you leave it at 4k native it may not allow you to select the correct hz of the monitor
'I saved someone else from being ripped off by being it myself. I saved someone else from being robbed by being it myself. I saved someone else from a bullet by being it myself.'
Technically almost any gpu made on the last 10 years can play at 4K playing it well is another question, I had a 980 that could play 4K max but was it playing them well not really
Imagine selling a gtx 760 for $200 in 2021...and then wondering why you aren't able to sell it lmao. Like a reasonable number right now at that price would be a gtx 1650, and even that should be lower
When i got my 1070 ti there was everything pictures, websites and the seller had good reviews.I got it within 2 days from the coast which are 800 km away.Seller also said the gpu is 90% good condition. It's better only reason she said 90% was tat the one screw was stripped so the fan housing hang a little(eventually fixed it last week after a year :D)But she also said it's a good 1080p gpu amd sp,e 1440p and 4k.She specified and sold it as a 1080p card. Not saying it can 4k everything.
I bought a 1650 ddr6 in january for £135, I could only find a 1650 ddr5 for £230 when I priced up a PC for someone recently.. The world of GPUs has gone batshit crazy and some people are taking advantage..
Creators are always suppose to see all of the dislikes on their videos and I still see the total number of dislikes of 120 on this video at the time of posting this comment. I can still give a thumbs up as I see how the change could effect legitimate uses of the dislike count on a video.
Sad that there are so many scammers about. I guess the shortage of graphics cards causes some buyers to take crazy risks in the hopes of hitting paydirt, when in reality they are just getting ripped off.
Dislikes have been removed by RU-vid because RU-vid loves our president and the president's videos are getting flooded by dislikes. So, nobody else take it personally.. Your videos are great. Keep up the great work. Some sellers are just taking advantage of the current inflated prices to pad their wallets.. That's life.
I can still see the dislikes - though please don't leave any, as RGinHD's content is very high quality. Much higher than the quality of gaming you'd expect from a GTX 760 at 4k with the latest and greatest titles.
I actually just gave my friend a lenovo pc with an i5 7600 and a gtx 745 i had around. In this market its the best i can do to get him on pc but hes still amazed how much better than ps4 it is if you play at mostly 720p or 1080p lower settings
I would honestly recommend people who are light on money and in need of a graphics card to play current games at 1080p the gtx 770 4GB variant of the card for 50 buck's or less. It can be of use while you are saving up for a new GPU. Usually I would resort to recommend a trusty rx 570 or 580 but since both of those card's have been so overpriced in recent months I can't recommend those any longer if they go above 300 buck's...
Over here, large retails are selling "gaming pcs" with stunning 8gb ram 2133 single channel, I5 cpu (model and generation conveniently ommited, but clearly 3 gen below), 1Tb hdd, and a gtx760 all slapped into a dubious motherboard for a gouging price. And their frame of reference for performance is CS and Valorant. But it has egregious amounts of rgb, so it must be a gaming setup right? ....right? I honestly feel bad for the folks with low income and little knowledge on pc parts that are the targets of those large retails. They come looking for a decent unit after saving for months only to be taken advantage of. I always try to help some people I know when they say they're looking to buy a gaming PC to avoid those scammers giving pointers on how to identify those red flags.
Content creators on RU-vid can still see the dislike count on a specific video by going into some particular menu, presumably somewhere in the RU-vid Studio. Linus and Luke discussed the decision by RU-vid and the arguments for / against it in considerable detail on the latest episode of _The WAN Show_ and in my opinion the #1 reason RU-vid is actually doing hiding dislikes is that the big companies cried because their videos were getting massive amounts of dislikes when the companies went in a direction that the public didn't like. RU-vid is a business and I'm almost 100% certain that they would never make a decision that actually helped creators if they didn't think it would make them more money at the same time.
