Congrats to Double HH! Let’s not forget the other great water kids Rhys and Pierce! What a life! Love your narration Pierce! Your channel always brings tears of emotion, I think it’s the purity and wholesome family values you all exude.
I am a 73 year old grandfather with two sons and have followed La Vagabond since their beginning. You and your family came on my radar about a year ago and I now look for you guys every Tuesday. I am very impressed with the experiences that you are making happen for your three sons. Good job and well done!
When I was your son's age my family had a power cruiser. That was 60 years ago. Those are memories I will never forget. Such a great adventure for your family. I love your video's, they reinforce my good memories.
Seth, mate, I'm liveing in Northern N.S.W. and the B.S. we have to put up with to go over the border is over the top,it;s like going into another country. Good luck to you and your family....Ed.
Hey, quarantining over Christmas or having 24 days isolated truly aren’t the end of the world. People are losing their loved ones, sometimes several of them, and you have the most important thing, you have each other and you’re safe.
Yes, but just because other people have it worse doesn't mean our suggestions aren't valid. Why make ANYONE quarantine if they are sailing for 14 plus days and will test upon arrival??? ~Seth
Shoot. I didn't see that. I wanted to pull in as we talk about the hotel, but didn't pay attention to the traffic! Editing trick gone wrong! Good catch! ~Seth
So many of your episodes make me smile and this one is no exception. Thanks for sharing, and a huge Congratulations to Hale, good on you bud! Mom and Dad, good on you as well. p.s. I have a sneaky suspicion you all made it to Australia.
Dive certs awesome!! Very cool coral reefs and fauna!! Shark!! :) Rock paper scissors when you wait... that is awesome! horseback riding!! Fresh coconut milk! Body surfing! Man that stinks... :( be safe!!
Wow great video. I just love the boys watching their faces light up at all the excitement. Would love to know how to send the boys something from the US. Can’t wait for the next video. My grand daughter and I love watching all your videos. I think she had a crush on one of the boys 😆😍, she is 8 and loves the beaches even though she hasn’t ever been sailing. Stay safe and as always sending love from VA.❤️❤️
Yes it's an odd thing. All around Australia there are anchorages all called quarantine Bay that ships arriving from places of risk had to wait untill considered safe but the government and those who should know better have forgotten. I hope that they one-day soon wake up and come to their sense's. My hart goes out to the Pacific Islands who must be struggling but who always seem happy no matter what. What a treat however to get the whole place to yourselves, I guess it's more what it was like thirty years ago.🏴☠️🍺
Ugh sorry from Australia about all the grief you got. But maybe you could bring the next episode out early as a treat to cheer us up in cold Sydney Delta lockdown ?!!😀🙏
You’ve opened a whole new world to them in diving. There is no place I feel in more awe of my Lord and Savior than when seeing His wonderful creations under the ocean!
They have some kinda racket goin' in Australia for sure. Rakin' in that quarantine money from people with obscene mandatory expensive quarantines. There's no reason for it or for it to be so expensive. Then, if you go from one part of Australia to another, like, if you arrive in Sydney trying to get to Adelaide, you gotta do another expensive quarantine in Adelaide. It's madness. There needs to be a better system in play so if you spend 10 days at sea and test negative, you're good to go. Godspeed and good luck!
I agree with that last comment about leaving when you had the chance. I couldn’t figure out why waiting to find out if time at sea counted or not mattered. If you just left you would find out when you get there. Does the extra 8 days if needed justify staying in Fuji for the storms? Safety Over inconvenience. Gratitude for getting in no matter the isolation time was my thought. Us Americans have what seems to be I little arrogance when it comes to other countries and there rules. It’s a life lived in the states that results in varying levels entitlement. I say this not as criticism but as an American who admittedly feels the same way when faced with illogical rules that should not apply to me. Look forward to the next episode. Peace and safety to the whole family.
Australia has more or less become a country ruled by military and police, trying to get vaxed everyone,if they want to or notn, thats bad.Not from a medical point necessarily,if the vax would really help anything, but from a democracy point of view. I would rather pass 10 cyclones in Fiji than being forced to get a vax in Australia.IMO
We didn’t want to spend Christmas Day, with kids that believe in Santa, in a quarantine hotel. Yes, it was a bad decision in hindsight, but who would have thought that by staying two more weeks we would have the second most powerful cyclone in South Pacific history hit us directly? Odds were pretty low. But sure enough...
@@TheSailingFamily Yea of course, its difficult to figure out, specially the situation to come with gov going for great reset. This is something more threatening than any weather.Weather you know it can get bad,and prepare accordingly as much as possible. But having kids, very healthy kids, vaxed with an experimental substance by force because some politician want to ???? Its a personal decision always of course, but once vaxed you cannot go back to non vaxed, and further away from all this the better.Storms are part of life, its us who decide which one to go through : ) We pray for you GOD bless you and your family
I thought COVID was passing us by but with new variants the future looks changed, like we have to now live in a COVID world and things will never be right again.
Very cute Elizabeth, @ time > 24;27 I noticed ~ wonder if anyone other than me did ? Very nice edite.Great to look back in 2020 It did get better and here we are readjusting to all these new paths, Just chose one...
There is a fun cooking school in Denarau that if you have time you should visit. it’s called flavors of fiji. I am not sure if they are open and operating right now but if they are and you have the opportunity definitely take one of the cooking classes it’s lots of fun may be a good activity idea for the family. I am not affiliated with them I have just taken two of the classes in the past and loved it.
Very cool! The Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI)......for those like me that didn’t know what it meant when he said it 500 times. 😊
Congratulations Hale! That is quite the accomplishment! But the other 2 are anxiously awaiting their turns!.. Thanks again for sharing. What a wonderful life you live!
Those were my Maui Jim sunglasses. I never really liked them! I ended up selling them and swapped them out for a new pair. You never lose the sunglasses you don't like! :) ~Seth
While the frustration of being literally and figuratively in no mans land, in the States, we went thru lockdowns, no travel and the rise of Covid waiting for the vaccine. Having to quarantine in a weather favorable area should be no big deal, especially on a million dollar cat.
That would be fine, but they want us to go to a Quarantine Hotel with no time outside for 14 additional days after being isolated at sea for nearly two weeks. It's crazy. But so was 2020... ~S
@@TheSailingFamily Sounds annoying I know but Australian's are demanding no international arrivals. Can't run a country like that, so hotel quarantine is the next best thing. it's either that or no entry. I know you got through it with Keith and co.
Another great episode Seth and Elizabeth. Well done on the PADI cert, loved seeing the Xmas celebrations, the crazy rules enforced on your family and the joy of being accepted to Oz. Qld Health are still proving to be useless in Aug 2021 so I'm extremely happy you made it to Oz when you did. When are you becoming citizens?🌴 You guys are the best. ⛵🌬😎👏
You're welcome to step up and take over from QH any time you want. I'm sure you could manage running hundreds of hospitals, 100,000 staff and the Delta variant (plus wankers who think that they shouldn't get tested despite exhibiting every symptom). Good luck!
not only do you have to do quarantine when you guys get to aus but when you want to leave if the state you're in at that time is in lockdown or you or one of the family have covid you're not going anywhere you will be stuck their not allowed to leave the state or country
Hey SAILING FAM!, My MOM's BIRTHDAY is coming up! I Could you please give her a SHOUT OUT in you next video? Thank you so much, I hope you have a BLESSED day!

I have gotten much pleasure watching your adventures since the honeymoon voyage. But I must sadly say this episode was very disappointing. After making a valid case for an exemption to Australia’s Covid restrictions to protect your children, wife and yacht from the very real dangers of typhoons and being denied four times. You sought the assistance of the US State Department and were granted the exemption you sought for your family’s safety. Then you balked at Australia’s isolation requirements, which you knew, because you might have to spend Christmas Day in a hotel. So it was better to expose your kids to the very high risk of typhoons, kids who’ve spent the last several years on an incredible adventure, to a than have to spend a Christmas in the safety of a hotel.
Oh yes. We screwed up big time. We should have gone. But we didn’t like how they changed the rules. Australians had their time at sea counted prior so it was the change that baffled us. We had no idea that waiting until after Christmas would expose us to this storm. But it was a risk and we got caught. We agree it was a bad choice in hindsight.
Just asking you said to your friends see you in 5 to 6 months , it’s been 8 and your still in Australia with lockdowns because there population won’t get vaccinated and “indo” and Malaysia are no where near I think years before they open ? When is it time to get your kids in school? ,the older they get I’m sure you and Elizabeth cannot give them the education they deserve
The world keeps changing. Delta threw everybody a curve ball... As for the boys, we just had them diagnosed. Hale is technically in Fifth grade, but operating at the 6th grade level in Math and 7th grade level in language arts. His reading ability is off the charts. They learn more seeing the world than they would ever in a masked classroom at home. We're pretty confident they'll do fine. :) Thanks for asking! ~Seth
