How come identity of victim is out but not the perp? Who’s the 42 yo driver?

the driver is convicting the crime of endangering public safety, engaging in street races and rash driving, the law must increase heavier punishments for dangerous driving to prevent such tragedies again.

As usually doesn’t say who the driver that was speeding and made the crash. Doesn’t even talk about what happened to the driver that caused this accident. The biggest headline is the driver but its not even being mentioned. No one asked to be in a road traffic accident and yet the person that causes it doesn’t even get a mentioned. Could at least give an update if the speedy driver is in the hospital or dead or in police custody.

2 counts of manslaughter, 1 count of reckless driving, 1 count of speeding. Should be in prison, should be subjected to hard labour. compensation from driver and driver's family to the families of victims involved. Driver's details should be named.

Based on the footage, black car is the main culprit with no intention to reduce speed, make effort to avoid crash, taking into consideration the culprit may suffer medication conditions or motorcar malfunctioned. If such a case is due to Singapore Bosses having employees be on time, a new law may be drafted to allow late employees by marginal or overall performance. 😢

Obviously, the driver had no regards for lives and was under the influence of substances. The driver had plough through a red light!

Have lost count how many times motorists & drivers zoom past me when I have yet to reach the end of pedestrian crossing. U'll be surprised folks. They give u like...20 seconds tops & if u don't hurry up, run or fly, sorry time's up...pedestrian path also no difference. The bikes, PMDs, Tuk tuks, etc, zoom here zoom there, left right front behind...Moral of the story, stand by your phone camera.

Singapore's law for traffic accidents is probably World's most lenient. I have seen so many past cases of deaths in road accidents. Be it reckless driving, drink driving or speeding. Most of the sentencing only fine the culprit without any jail term. Some were not even fined for killing someone on the road. Just demerit points and barred from driving for months. 🤡🤡🤡

Innocent motorists suffer because of the senseless culprit. His grandmother obviously didn't teach him well.

This is just selfishness and impatience. It’s not drugs or alcohol. As a pedestrian, I experience dangerous drivers very often. They don’t want to stop at stop lines or zebra crossing. They honk me aggressively. They speed up before I even finish crossing. All this is unnecessary stress. Singapore needs to do more for road safety.

Singaporeans are polite and courteous but once behind the wheel,they can become aggressive. For ex,if you cut into their lane or attempt to overtake them,they may exhibit aggressive behaviour such as honking aggressively,overtaking you or using rude gestures.😢

As a TJCian, i can say this happened because we were supposed to report to Temasek Poly for our annual road run. They were most likely running late, like many others. So that crash caused more people to be late.

Those who commented why drivers detail unclosed. Wait lah. Must investigate. Cannot anyhow hantam and drop names. A lot of investigative work will go into it. Ita realy sad that so many lives are affected...lets pray that the victims be given strength to face the days ahead. Including the driver's family who will be tormented

No one desired for such saddening matter to happen. Speed is just one of the many other conditions that accident occurring, and what was the speed ?sometimes, the other cars drivers are not as sensitive or considerate that caused accident. May the deads rest into their intended destination and the living be calm to accept that has already happened.

There a many drivers still drive so fast at traffic light signals. Merging lane want to overtake and changing lanes no signal. Traffic police must conduct spot checks and surprise visit

They need to review the traffic law.

Very similar to the accident happened at traffic junction at Bugis around 12 years ago, where i still remembered the victim is a Japanese lady sitting in the taxi which was right turning after traffic light turned green. The reckless driver was a young china business man who was driving a red Ferrari dashing through the traffic junction and hit the taxi. The scenario was eaxctly look like this one. The reckless Ferrai china driver was taking a young lady, and both then was just out from the Pub. The young driver was dead after the accident and left wife and new born baby at home. He is so reckless and irresponsible for both the victim and his own family

Why is he driving at such a fast speed like in Formula One? Is he thinking he is in a F1 Race Competition? How can that driver drove so fast in such a busy junction? He is crazy and out of his mind! He obviously never care for other Road users and Pedestrians!!! He should be banned of driving forever and be sentenced for murder of 2 innocent lives!

It's actually good practice that the media isn't reporting the culprit. Until the police investigate and the judge decides, no media or individual can decide that the alleged culprit is at fault. Reporting about the alleged culprit puts them and their family in unnecessary danger. I'm saying this is good practice because what if, the culprit is not at fault? I think we can trust Singapore's judicial system in cases like this, so just wait out.

any car accident is treated very lightly in state courts as if no wrong was done. Slow down 4 minutes will not kill anyone.
