It's funny that Danya says at the start that he's recording at 5am because he makes a couple verbal slip ups ("taking the knight" when he meant the rook, and seeds of defeat becoming seeds of victory 2 seconds later) Even so, he plays a great miniature, explains it perfectly, then says hey let's do another.

Damn game 1 didn't feel close at all. Speaking of the Glek system I have been playing this against the sicialian, it is essentially a closed response by white with the fianchetto, it is solid and seems 'easy' to find good moves. I agree with Danya, black does not seem to know 'where to put their pieces' against this setup, leading to an imbalance and mistake in the middle game. FYI I am 1200 only.

For the Glek does it matter exactly how black sets up or can you play it relatively regardless, a bit like Kings Indian etc. E.g. Does black have to start by getting both knights out for it to work for white as in this game?

@bobscuttled3579
@bobscuttled3579 11 месяцев назад
@@musical_lolu4811 I did analyze the position after the move I mentioned. Qd5+..Kh8, Bxa8..Bxf1, Bc6..Ba6 (Be2 loses a pawn to Qe2..Bg4, Qxh6), Re1..Nf6, Qe6..Bc8, Qe7..Bf5, continues with Qxd8..Rxd8, Re7. Black is totally passive here, white controls the E file, has a Rook on the 7th and will likely win another pawn. The 2 bishops utterly dominate black's position, the black knight will have difficulty moving with a rook on the 7th and the dark squared bishop aiming down the diagonal.
