The justice system is pathetic in this country, I sometimes wonder why the police even bother with sentences like these. My grandson was mown down by a hit and run driver when he was 4 years old, he is now 20 years old he is blind and in a wheelchair the police did not rest until they caught that driver who got 7 months in prison.Not the police's fault but the courts.
Nice to see Surrey and Sussex police on this. Utterly pants sentencing and far too light. For both of the offenders. Emergency services have been underfunded for far too long. Criminals are laughing !
The Court system is way too lenient with these crappy individuals. It must be so frustrating for police officers to work so hard to bring them to book, just to watch the Magistrates or Judges give them a slap on the wrist and a small fine, or similar. Especially disappointing when you look at the heartache suffered by the people suffering the loss of a nice car.
Range Rover driver once again got off lightly. So why not start with a new law that refusal to provide is a instant 3 year ban. 2nd time stopped and refuse is a 5 year ban and a automatic 6 month’s behind bar’s. 3rd time caught drink or drug driving and another refusal will see them get a automatic two full year’s behind bar’s no matter if they have or have not passed a test or is classed as a child will make zero difference. Giving a person a program on how to think properly is a joke, time behind bar’s will give them plenty of time to think what they have done wrong.
The sentences are so different yet the basics of both persists were vastly similar apart from theft I think both sentences were extremely lenient and not much of a deterrent for future breaches
I couldn’t watch anymore after hearing the sentence of that first scumbag. Absolutely shameful. CPS should be disbanded.. no wonder the country is fucked, they’re pathetic.
