Editor - Thanks for enjoying this series so much!! If you want to fly Hikaru to other cities so he can play other chess hustlers and make more hype videos, just like and subscribe, it really does help!! Suggest cities, hustlers, parks, coffee shops etc below. Thanks!!
Hikaru should definitely go to Union Square park in Manhattan. Imagine an IRL meetup with Levy and/or the Botez sisters. There are plenty of fans and hustlers there too, so it would be a content machine. I'd pay to watch that. Cheers!
@@tomasonsynthol8266 Originally legendaries were higher than mythicals. Idk wtf google play store trash flipped them... But then some of the idiots who throw money at game frames must have copied their backasswards setup.
@@eizendragon5141 I don't think it's worth it, u aren't fighting for an advantage of any kind as white with it. U could maybe use it in bullet because is pretty much a setup so u can get away with fast moves or premoves in the opening.
“Sometimes we forget”… you forgot maybe, everyone knows hikaru for his bullet/blitz skills, and he did a lot of off-camera games with odds like these for years
GM Hikaru is even beating you on trash talk Mike! :( It's all good we still love ya! Great game! And great fight Eric! Nice Pokemon evolution from Boston Mike (great comment by Mohit Mohan!) Stay tuned to see who Electric Eric evolves to next! Thank you GM Hikaru for giving us lessons every time you stop by! I feel like you playing us will evolve the whole crew :)
Anytime I play trash talkers, I take their trash talk as worry. It gives me confidence. The more they try and tell you how bad a move is, the more afraid they are!
Magnus Carlsen was my favorite chess player only because i didnt really know who Hikaru Nakamura is. the man is a Super GM & number 1 in blitz and playing chess in a public coffee chess, enjoying the trash talk and all, giving lessons and tips, i rarely comment on social media but I've gotta say "Hey Hikaru, You Are Awesome".
I really enjoy how cool Hikaru is, almost above the trash talk. A little jab here and there, but he isn’t trying to humiliate anyone. He’s playing there’s guys, with his entire reputation on the line, with 5-1 in time, and still making it look so easy. Awesome Content, thanks for making this happen coffee chess!
Lol, there are so many clips online of him behaving like a child after losing a game. Literally the most unlike-able super GM personality-wise. He'll never match Carlsen in ability or speed, and certainly not in grace.
That title makes me want a chess variation where after the first 10 moves the players swap colors. If you're mated before move 10 you lose, but otherwise you want to have as weak a position as possible. Then after move 10 the players have to try to salvage their positions and close the game.
@@anamorfoplasis I mean any arbitrary number works, but 10 seemed to be right at the border of the mid game. So basically playing chess after your opponent gave you a crap opening. 10 moves should be long enough to move the king and try to leave a few pieces in danger
I love the kind of trash talk players give you. Trash talk when not expecting to win is the best. Keeps it humble and lighthearted. Not saying the person who wins or has better results shouldn’t trash talk, just when they’re cocky it takes the fun away from trash talk. Trash talk can still be humble and the way y’all do it is great imo.
That Hustler playing on one minute is really good, but I think having a million subs on RU-vid and a million followers on Twitch might make him recognisable - I doubt he'll hustle much cash from anyone.
Great stuff again, love the Coffee Chess games. How about a prize pool for first to win at 5:1 odds (assuming it's not been done yet!), I'd chip in with $50.
Its so amazing that a GM goes to play against club players... They dont have a chance but its a great experience to play against one of the very best players of the world... I love this videos...
Have always liked Boston mike.. And getting to see him play the great Hikaru is an actual treat. I hope Hikaru plays more games with average Joe's.. Makes you understand the actual level difference but also the joy of competing against a legend is truly brilliant.
@@romeokuznetsov9864 Average Joe is slang for normal or ordinary individual... Like in this case Hikaru.. Who should count his lucky stars that he got to play with the legend.. The myth.. The phenom.. MIKE!
Hikaru, it would be great if we could get a few mins of analysis after some of these OTB games. Nothing crazy, even just a min or two to cover the winning ideas / themes of the game. Loving this content
Lol it’s quite funny you think he was “stopping by” I’m almost certain that coffee chess paid Hikaru or made some kind of deal for him to come play and record him.
Thanks, Hikaru. This is so fun to watch. I hope you keep this kind of content up. And as a beginning player, I think this actually helps. These street games demonstrate chess is truly a game in the moment, even played ad a high level by two great players with time constraints. Very fun to watch.
At 1:21 hikaru realized his opponent messed up bad at this time, the grin is "you just gave away your chances" and as a pro player he already has the game in the bag at this point. The cheese to the camera is "I win"
Bruh hikaru gave him a check if he blocked with the knight it was mate in 1 , if black takes the pawn on h6 , then hikaru took the pawn with check and it was also mate. Why would he even want the pawn , that pawn was lost anyway. Finding check mating solutions is priority n1 .. if he took the pawn he lost a tempo. Shorter answer NO ✌️ even in the worst worst case he could go to f1 with his king and then g2 and then he could maybe give a check on g8 and then king h1 and the rook is attacking the queen and there are no checks anymore .
Sorry for dumb question, but in the second game, the guy lost because he moved a piece which put his King into check. Wouldn't people normally get to redo that? Is it because they're playing at such a high level that he just loses like that?
Love Boston Mike... just wish he could last longer so we could get more trash talk. Great matches Hikaru! Always love it when you visit the coffee chess crew.
The moment Hikaru stared when Mike split was satisfing for me. Like, i know it is match for fun but... He is playing with HIKARU GM. I would not even harras him, cuz his preciction and inteligence in chess is on another level here
