Pugs actually learn tricks faster then other stubborn dogs, just because they love you. But the 3 brain cells each have at birth do get tired and take vacations…🤓
“You’re always shedding, you’re a Pug” I felt that in my bones. I lost my boy almost two years ago and I still find hair on some clothes. Miss u Franck 😔💔
@@rizzorizzo2311 same here! I know pugs aren’t the best bread because they have so many health issues but their personality is so great. They give so much love and are so expressive. I grew up with my Franck (I was 16 when I got him) so it’s hard to live without him. I really feel you 😞
I haven't watched Milo and Otis in literally over 20 years--I love it when i was a small child, but it made me sob *every* time I watched it. Haven't been able to bring myself to watch it since I was probably 6 or 7.
Omg! It's a 'Milo & Otis' reference!! It took a couple seconds after reading for the penny to drop 😅 Uh oh... I think I'm showing my age by admitting I know what movie they're talking about! 😂😂
Awww....pugs... 😄 my friend asked me why I used a harness instead of a leash. Well, because his neck is thicker than his head, and the leash just falls off!🤣
LOL, this so much. My stepdad had two pugs, and one of them was just this hilarious little linebacker of a dog, with this massive neck and shoulders, and this comparatively tiny head...a collar would have popped right off over his head. The other one was such a chonker that I'm pretty sure he didn't have a neck to put a collar on, as he was just a chubby little sausage of a dog.
Despite the fact that I feel so repulsed for what we have reduced this breed to with it's facial deformities and breathing difficulties, these are two very well behaved bois!
If you google "old fashioned pug," you can see what they looked like 100 years ago. Still cute, but with longer snouts and leaner bodies. They had fewer health problems. I hate what organizations like the AKC have done to certain breeds. The good news is some smart breeders are breeding the dogs back to a healthier standard (bulldogs, German shepherds, even pugs, etc.)
Had to laugh when you put the happy hoodie on both of them. They, instantly reminded me of the 1982 movie “ET.” “ET phone home. Don’t want to be here.” 🤣😂🤣
These two little sweethearts are absolutely adorable! I love their demeanour, behaviour and their cute faces. It's just so sad about the breathing; maybe one day Pugs will be bred without breathing problems!
Some don't have breathing problems, my little ole man did snore but breathing was no issue for him. He'd charge around like a nutter for a few hours a day but come 4pm he loved nothing more than squishing himself down the side of me on the chair and going to sleep until dinner time. Pugs LOVE food, so gotta be careful on feeding them and making sure they get enough walkies to stop them getting fat and becoming an even meater meatball. I miss Ted the Pug... he was awesome! I might get another in the future but not yet (maybe a rescue).
@@RogueWraith909 Sadly most of them do have breathing issues, but... yeah, don't get me wrong, Pugs are incredible dogs, I absolutely love them to bits, I just want them to be bred so none of them have issues breathing and of course this applies to all flat-faced breeds. :)
Different countries are changing the breed standards to encourage a healthier pug. If you ever get the chance, check out Australian standards vs USA standard. One of them considers exaggerated feature causing health issues a defect.
I fostered a former breeder pug while she went through heartworm treatment. When I asked the vet to trim her nails, she made such a fuss that the vet tech was in tears. They were monitoring her breathing and heart rate. Vet said she was ok, just dramatic.
Awwww, this brings back memories of my pug that passed away last year. He was thirteen years old and grew up with me, so it was very difficult for me to grieve him. I'm thinking about adopting from a pug rescue in my state once I can afford to rent a house instead of an apartment, since I'm familiar with their common physical problems and needs.
Sorry for your loss. I’ve grown up with 3 pugs that have since passed and it never gets easy. Seeing these adorable pugs brings back all the warm feelings. Good luck finding your new best friend!
Pugs are perfect, and become a family member. My pug girl passed last monday, it was sudden and a little like loosing a limb. Still, I hope to adopt a pug or pug mix in the future, Love pugs. ❤️💕
I'm sorry your puggie has passed away 😪 I've never owned a pug but I got close to one a friend had,and I've met many others.Delightful little gargoyles.I hope you can find a rescue puggie,I'm sure it will be very happy with you❤
Sorry for your loss and best of luck in the future. Maybe consider trying to start up your own little rescue because you are familiar with the complications, you might even get to apply for government funding as a dog rescue. Just a thought. Something similar happened to me and one of the ways I found that helped ease the loss was to help other animals, since my babies passed I've hand-reared, rehabbed and re homed like 400 parrots across the species and size range and have started developing an interest in K-9 behavior as well. they truly always stay with you inside, never ever forgotten.
I love pugs so much. They’re just the most silly, goofy dogs. We had them when I was growing up and every day I want another, I wish their health issues weren’t so terrible.
i do wish people wouldnt keep saying they have terrible health issues . i am a pug breeder and WELL BRED pugs have NO ISSUES AT ALL. Irresponsible breeders breed dogs with issues and that goes for ANY breed ..... i advise anyone that buys any puppy make sure you do your homework fist . find out what the specific breed you are interested in may genitically have problems with . themn find a reputable breeder that fully health tests BOTH parents and chooses carefully when breeding and hey presto you have healthy dogs . Not rocket science just careful selective breeding
Pugs are such goofballs! I love them! Before working at doggy daycare, I never realized what big personalities they have. I feel awful that they suffer with so many breathing issues, but they are a delight to be around.
Meatball is all, "Yay I love playing with Charlie...but I don't love sharing the spotlight with him!" And Charlie is just "Mom is supposed to be here to pick me up. I have a very important appointment with a sofa that CANNOT wait."
no offense to these boys, but I think pugs that are bred to no longer have squished faces look a lot cuter than those with squished faces. plus, they are a lot healthier
I fully agree,my family has a pug and everytime I see him I just get sad. Hes such an active little guy reduced to a couch potato because he simply cannot run around for long.
@@ChristineNighting Yeah, they sit so shallowly in the sockets that a pug (and a lot of other similarly smush-faced breeds) can have their eyes pop out at the slightest wrong thing to the head/face area. Pretty sure that had something to do with why one of my stepdad's pugs was missing one of his eyes.
It happened to a dog in the next town over from me. It made the paper. The owner blamed the groomer and the groomer was like “It can just happen with pugs! I only turned around to get the clippers and his eye was bulging when I turned back!” Groomer paid for all vet bills and felt terrible. The surgery was a success and the pup’s eye was fine after all.
@@nmmarquesm in fairness her pomeranian giget has been seen in a video or two with meatball. If you've seen them, I don't blame you for thinking he was part of her pack, but apparently giget and meatball are buddies.
I always feel so sad for pugs, they're sweet dogs but they can barely breathe most of the time. As someone who has breathing issues myself I can only imagine how it feels for them. I know someone who got one recently, except she got one that had been bred with a longer nosed dog. You wouldn't know looking at him, I wish it was more common practise.
I had a pug once. She was so comical and kept us laughing when she was young. They are also good with children, which is a plus. I look forward to getting a new one some day.
They're so cute I can't! Meatball at the end was like "I'm the good boy! ME!" They actually look pretty well bred! I have bostons, so I love these breeds but pugs can be especially badly bred, these two look really good!
I got your deshedding shampoo and conditioner, it worked great on my rough collie! She looks and smells lovely 🥰 (I’ll probably have the groomer keep doing it though, because MAN that was a lot of fur haha).
I used to watch these videos because they were cute and relaxing but now that I have my own dog I'm learning so much 😀 thank you for your wonderful channel!
"He knows not to breathe" My idiotic dog always breathes and tries to drink the water during grooming ( I have a jackrussel ) complete idiot. love both the puggies.. they are adorable
My Jack Russell hates a bath and would try to jump out of the sink if I let him 😂. Same dog loved running through the sprinkler or waxing oil with the kids when he was younger
LOL.... meatball's initial jump from the water and his eyes full of terror as the spout came closer. Such a good, sweet boy. 🥰 Charlie... whatta sweetie! I love your patience and love for dogs! BTW, my youngest pup could care less what I watch on RU-vid but your continuous, "Good boy!," made him perk his ears up lol.🤣
Aww, they're both so cute! You can tell Meatball is used to the grooming process even though he's not so thrilled with it. Charlie did so well for his first appointment!
Pugs always look like you just told them their entire family was probably killed in a horrific flaming car crash and you need them to identify the bodies.
What a pair of handsome fellows! I enjoy how you explain everything and your thought process behind grooming! I swear almost every pug I've seen has the sweetest personality-- if only their breed was a bit healthier.
You can tell she has Groomed Meatball a lot because she knows his look of "I'm a shake now!" before he does it and knows to get out of the "splash zone"
Meatball´s dad, did so well :-) You are so good at making them calm. Watching you and The Farm, makes me ready to have my own dog, I am learning so much. Thank you 🙂
Meatball really doesn't like the grooming but he is a trooper about it. And Charley was much better than one might have imagined from the peeing beforehand.
Theres a pug named Tater that goes to the dog park where I take my Loki and the owner is lucky I dont scoop him up and run because hes such a funny happy pup and loves roughhousing with dogs 3x his size
Found you from the Farm channel. As the staff of a puggle (pug/beagle), I can attest to the shedding and dislike of nail clipping. That said, we have a groomer who does get his nails without a fuss. His problem was someone cut the quick on him and so he rightly did not want to cooperate anymore. But she has earned his trust. I bathe him in the tub myself. He has a longer snout and only slight wrinkles over the eyes but is the fawn color of a pug.
Pugs shed all the time! And this is why I vacuum 2-3x a week! Infact, all of my pugs were extremely good at blowing their costs. I believe shedding is the worst of the breed. Since I no longer show, my current pup , Gemma is a chug from Colorado Pug Rescue. She looks more chi then pug, and is cautious like a chi but her real disposition is pug.
