Have you ever done custom stock/grip jobs? I've thought about swapping a 1897's pump with it's original wood with purple heart and the stock with either maple or oak and wondered if you had any tips or something
I did a video not too long ago about a custom m1 Garand stock. I used rasps and files to get the shape I wanted. Then scraped and sanded to get the final finish. I like using files on wood. You don’t get the tearing and gauges you get with a rasp. Buy a new file. They cut wood pretty well.
