I did just that Ed! My first trip to Pattaya. I met up with a pal who has lived in Thailand for 20 years, he took me to a bar on Soi 6 and started ringing the bell! I thought to myself this is fun and didn't realise that I was buying everyone in the bar a drink. I rang that bell like i was playing in a church! My bill at the end was 42000 Bhat! Lesson learnt! Leave the fookin bell alone!
I no mate! I nearly fell over when I picked up the bill! My pal had told them it was my birthday, which it wasn't. I only had 10000 bhat on me. I had to go back to my apartment and grab the money. When I got back they had bought me a birthday cake. It was a crazy night!

Eddy, Great story! I'll do that also but with you staying in the bar with me. We only live once so why not. I also like going over to a beach vender selling ice cream and buying the total and inviting all the local kids the have a treat. Did it on the street in poor areas impromptu because my girlfriend and I just happen to be at a store when the kids got out of school. To see the look on these kids faces when you say get an ice cream and I pay is great but seeing the look when I say, what ever you want is priceless! They all chose the most expensive ice cream! It was money well spent!!!!!!!!! Love doing random acts. I worked hard, still do, blessed with successes even though I came from poverty so I know what it all means and love the feeling of seeing the smiles. We only live once and cant take the cash with you but you will take the Karma and memories. I also know woman and am wise. Well, wise only to a point as they say and why I follow you, like you, respect you and learn. Never been to Asia but plan soon. Thanks Eddy and hope we meet up some day and buy out the bar!
Anybody with enough health and wealth to travel to another country for two weeks or ANY amount of time is extremely blessed..nothing to look down on or make fun of.
You know Eddy, some of us started as the little guy and started a business and got lucky and it took off. Believe me a business is way more work then what a day to day worker does, but i used to budget 5k for 2 week vacation, then after i made my millions which was all in my business but i would take out 15k for my 2 weeks and yes i would party for them 2 weeks like i didnt care. I earned my money and the money i spent on them 2 weeks was whatever, sure it would be better if i kept it and reinvested it but if you dont live a little then what is it all for.
Good way to live, you can't spend it when your gone.....enjoy it now! (cos you know your relatives will live it up on your dosh when you're 6ft under!).....

nothing wrong with that approach, your percentages were intact, vs. a guy blowing most his yearly income or savings to go home broke in two weeks. Once yo have millions, blowing 15k isn´t gonna change yoru life for the worse.
Very true, people say you get turned over in Pattaya spending loads of dosh but if you know you are getting turned over you are not getting turned over.
I think there's several tiers of "rock star" spending. All tiers are going to spend very similar on these daily items (USD): 1) 5 Star Hotel - $100/night 2) 1 high-end meal a day for 2 - $50 3) Your high-end expensive import beer - $50 4) Lady drinks & entertainer "goodwill" - $100 5) 1 lady + barfine - $150 6) 1 high-end massage + happy ending - $100 6) Other bullshit little purchases (transportation, food, meds, shopping etc.) - $100/day These numbers are on the high end for sure so for ~$650 USD/Day you can party in Pattaya like tier 1 rock star. Any higher tier just means spending more on these same categories or having a few "addon" experiences such as 1) Ping pong balls - $50-$100 2) Porn stars + top 1% girls - $250+ 3) Making a bar treat you like VIP - spend~$150-$200 in a single visit 4) Find your favorites pregame bargirl that's not hot but great convo for an hour each day (drinks + tips) - $60 5) Having a killer band play 10 of your favorite rock songs perfectly - $100 6) Getting mamasan + cute non-dancing servers drunk and having fun - $50 For $1,000/day you can be pimp daddy easily during a 2 week visit considering that you're going to take a few days off to rest and relax and will spend much less on those days. The "millionaire" is going after the vibe not the girl. He spends in excess to create a fun and enjoyable environment for those he takes home and everyone involved during the search.

I think it's stupid to spend 15 to 20 000 baht in one night, but then again, people will spend their own money however they like. I m usually fairly frugal, I spend a maximum of about 5000 to 6000 baht a day. It s not for me to judge others. I even overspend sometimes. I 've spent 4000 just on drinks sometimes in Soi 6. That might include two LD s, Even if you spend 3000 in a bar in Pattaya these days you are a "big spender". I spent 2000 baht in one bar in Soi MIT last June and the girls could not believe it. They said most guys rarely spend more than 500 baht.
Hi Eddie. Great post. I'm lucky enough to live here aged 52 and with a large budget. I did the 2 week millionaire thing for the first 4 months I lived here. 5 star hotels everywhere, flying all over the place with a girl of my choice as company. I spent £60000 in that time but after a while it gets samey. Now I'm living full time in Pattaya and am well known here as a big spender, though I usually now only spend 100 quid a day. That's all you need to splash to be a big cheese in this town. It's fun to ride around and hear screams of "Allaaan!" from the bar girls as I proceed. But what I and most guys want, in the end, is a nice girl to take care of you, as I do for them. That's the true path to happiness. Again, I'm happy and lucky enough to have achieved this. Was there in feb drinking in a little bar playing pool with the mamasan, 6 bar girls there, told her if I win I get 3 free drinks if not I'll shout all the girls a drink, anyway sunk the white on the 8 , shouted the girls we were all having a laugh and a drink and the atmosphere picked up and a few more punters wandered in, great night. Anyway next day the owner was there and he said you the one who shouted the girls? Yeah mate. We got chatting and he paid for all my drinks that night. Great times.
I was a two week millionaire in Pattaya but I only lasted 3 days and then I was begging me mum to send me an advance on my inheritance. Luckily I found a wonderful bar girl and she took me on a last hurrah to my luxury apartment on the 23rd floor and compelled me to join the local flying club. I survived but learnt my lesson. Now You're find me in bognor Regus every November with a wonderful bloke who's as broke as me I'm looking forward to this year as it's his turn to wear a dress.thanks for another great video!

I'm a restaurant worker in the US. I work hard as hell for my money. This year, after watching all these videos of Cambodia, Thailand, etc, I've decided to head to Cambodia for two weeks. You better believe I'm going to spend lavishly and ACTUALLY LIVE for once. Who can blame a working-class man for throwing himself a party once a year? What, are we to just slave away every damn day of our lives being the life-blood of Western society? Don't knock us for having our much deserved fun.
Well done mate, it is a life to be lived. You will never look the same at the world again. Don't forget my favourite Vietnam, beautiful women, dirt cheap food and drinks and a party atmosphere most days of the week.
Last April in Bangkok I met two English guys who had just retired from the oil business. Safe to say their table was surrounded all night and when they found out I was a fellow countryman they brought me drinks all night. When it came to pay the bar bill they just pulled out wads of cash and told the staff to keep the change.

I know it well. IT contractor, always busy. When i can get a week or 2 in pattaya, I dont count the pennies so closely. You can make the money back, but you never get your youth back. Lived in europe and asia. Pattaya is the perfect spot where east meets west.
When i first started coming to Pattaya in 2006 I was getting 75 baht to the £ and my budget was £100 a day and as you can imagine that budget went a long way. That was just spends, hotel already paid. Now I spend less than half of that on average

One of the bar I had a drink in had a list of the top 10 big spends. From memory the biggest was in the high US $20,000s the low $20,000s . There were a few in the US $ teens and the rest between US $5,000 - US $10,000.
I usually go to pattaya for 2 weeks. I have a great time . And spend as much as I want. About £120 a day ish . Sometimes more sometimes less . Just done xmas and new year. It was brilliant. Back in uk now bloody freezing. Cheers Eddie video cheered me up.

Great channel and informative videos. You could call me a two week millionaire but actually I have a one month vacation and work five months. The most I have spent in one night is 175,000 baht but have spent over 350,000 on a yacht charter for a day with 14 girls from one go go bar. Best time of my life. I work for company in the Middle East so I can afford it. Most night I limit myself to 25,000 or less and stay in a 4 star hotel. I don’t mind the guys who just drink a beer and watch but think they should at least buy the service girl 1 drink.
Great vid. I 30 odd yr old guy I swaped numbers with on the same outbound planes to Bangkok later told me that he went through his entire 30day budget in less than a week in Pattaya. He even contacted me (a virtual stranger) in asking if I could help him out with some money. Sorry but I had no sympathy for him, nor do I of this type. I later found out that he was waiting for funds being sent over from his dad. Yes he lived like a millionair for a week & a stupid one at that. In reality he was so far removed from affording such a lifestyle. What makes this true story more pathetic & wrong, is that he had a wife & young children at home in the UK.
I know quite a few millionaires. They use the library. They buy their cars with cash. They don't carry alot of debt unless it is a smart business expense. They never carried credit card debt. They look for good deals on flights or on nice hotels. They bring their lunch to work, for health and money reasons. When they go on holiday, they live it up large. Not that hard to figure out.

The term also applies to sailors in port who live it up between voyages, fishermen in particular who can have made a lot of money whilst at sea. They hit the bars around the docks and spend up on drink and women, then it's back to the ship. Western tourists are similar,with Pattaya being the pub by the dock and our home countries being where we spend most of our time and make our money.
The problem with two week millionaires is that they pay over the odds for the woman which spoils it for everyone else. I have mostly stayed for two months at a time and I spend less money on each trip as I learn from my previous mistakes and know how to avoid being taken for a ride. You don't have to stay at the Hillton to have a good time and I have found very good guest houses three minutes walk from LK Metro for 700 to 800 baht a night.. Long trips only become expensive if you are tipping and buying ladydrinks drinks all of the time. I now only ever tip for good service which saves me a small fortune over two months. Also don't let your bar fine take control by making nagging you into paying for countless ladydrinks at her bar or by buying her friend the singer from rolling stone bar ect a drink. It is her friend not yours so let her buy the drink with her money. So don't be a soft touch/mug.

Nice Eddy! Heck, why not bar fine 10 and take them back to you flat with a private pool and have a bucket list experience! I will do it but think 5 is all I need, maybe 6 because of the even numbers. It's time to live life while we can but just be smart about it and always a gentleman.
Another possible view on the two week Millionaires that I heard on forums is they splash the cash without negotiating with the ladies who in turn raise their prices which spoils things for the other punters.
I agree with your millionaire assessment. Who's to judge? That being said, while listening I was doing the mental math. However, being so use to converting US dollars to baht, I was asking myself, what's the problem. I've had a few $200+ nights in Thailand myself. Then when I realized your were speaking pounds and recalculated..... WTF? Still I'm not judging. Maybe secretly I wish I had the balls to go that all-out. Hahahaha. The go-go story at the end was fantastic. One of those you can retell for years. The "I was lucky to be there, but not lucky enough to be him" story. Hahahaha. Keep up the good work.
