There is something REALLY creepy about the sisters' relationship.

I’m sorry, but Tina took too long to answer the question of whether she killed this man or not. Other people would immediately say NO.

Tina desperately wants to feel important. What a weird, jealous and possessive woman. She either killed Fred or knows who did. I love my sister but those two are crossing a line with their sisterhood. Gives me the creeps.

The sister, Tina, is one of the most manipulative people I've seen. She says Fred had the upper hand persuading the court for custody of the children because he was "a Ph.D. professor in persuasive communications," completely ignoring the fact that her sister was a freaking attorney whose job was ALSO to use persuasive communications. It shows me that she "cherry-picks" and twists information to suit her narrative.

Let me get this straight, three police officers responded to a shots fired call... but they didn't see the body of the victim until the neighbors called them back the next day??

The older sister is a menace She destroyed her sisters marriage. U can tell how much hatred she has for him.

No one just wears those blue shirts for interviews if they have a choice 😂

I miss Harold Dow. He had a great presence and voice and had a very warm interviewing style.

If I was being asked what time I went to the store 2 weeks ago, I might have to think about it that long. You don't have to think about whether or not you murdered someone that much.

This episode is from 2007...Ever notice that the old episodes are far better? They just MOVE, one step to the next. The newer episodes are 10 minutes of content, 34 minutes of filler. PS - RIP Harold Dow, one of the greats.

I miss Harold Dow. He was a great storyteller. I loved his paced and voice tone. So suave. This was great reporting! I can't wait for part 2!

Something seems very strange about how Tina described her younger sister cuddling with her in bed because she was a child. Then they sleep together as adults too? Something strange is going on.

What I find so sad about so many separation or divorce cases is the lack of ability from both adults to reach an amicable solution between them, putting their kids first. Someone always has to win! If there's one thing I'm proud of in my life, it's the way my ex husband and I have handled our separation. Neither of us have custody. When my 7 year old son wants to see his Dad, or his Dad wants to see his son, it happens...because I do not own my son. I WANT him to have his Dad and I want his Dad to have his son. I want my son to have me. Sometimes my ex husband rings up on a Saturday when my son is due home and says 'erm..he'd like to stay again tonight is that ok?' You know what, YES it is! - because if that makes my son and his Dad happy, then that makes me happy! Yes, I miss my son when he stays an extra night or two....so I call him, and I chat to him and I tell him to have a wonderful time and I can't wait to see him. When he returns, he is loved as much. It really does make my blood boil that these supposed 'adults' and 'parents' are more concerned with winning the battle and subsequently the war, rather than putting the happiness of their kids first! Oh...and the sister so obviously did it. EDIT: I've seen part 2...SPOILER ALERT.... I was wrong about the sister LOL!

Let me get this straight...The Houston PD not only missed her getting off the plane, she picked up her bags from the conveyor without their noticing? What??!

I love my sister but man their relationship is just odd, we certainly aren't clinging to each other to that degree

Before ANYONE sympathizes with these evil sisters, keep in mind: Piper was not abused; she killed him because she was $7k behind in child support, his $200k life insurance, and because he had full custody. These two sisters convinced themselves that Piper was the victim. They’ve had ZERO remorse for their actions. Tina drove a wedge into that marriage from Day 1. It really is a great book.

AMAZING story & would recommend reading the book. I read the book in 2008 in my young 20's when I first got in True Crime. It's a twisted & amazing story and its laid out well in the book. 'Die My Love' is the name of the book

damn sad case. Piper is a scary individual - she presents herself like she is so demure and gentle. She kinda reminds me of Jodi Arias.

48 hours, the Original true crime show. I used to watch with my grandparents and have been a true crime fan ever since.

Isn't it funny how all victims are, loved, popular, smart, beautiful, handsome, everyone likes them, and have a great future in life, but only when they are killed or murdered, while they are alive they are not recognized

Tina sounds like a very controlling, selfish, narcissistic sister. SHE had to be the main person in her sister's life or else it wasn't good enough. There's an incest trauma bond there, and she needs therapy. Your sibling should not be your main companion, its unhealthy

The sister is always gonna be jealous of anyone that goes near Piper and think they aren't good enough for her. Everyone said she would go to great lengths to "help" people - that wasn't helping people, that was controlling situations.

How I IMMEDIATELY "like" the video 40 sec watching...that's the grip that 48hrs has on me.

Tina decided to eliminate him. Tina is clearly a NARCISIST. She wanted to be the center of attentions, keep people were she desires them to be and she wanted her sister to have her way. DId you noticed how she criticised Fred saying her sister did EVERYTHING a FATHER should do? As if: he didn't do them. Every word that comes out of this woman's mouth when she criticises him is as if she was talking about HERSELF. A pure 100% nar.

So strange how there is piles and piles of information about Piper missing in part 1 - maybe it will be covered in part 2 because it’s pretty obvious Piper was crazy for a long long long time before she and or her sister killed him. They make it look like they just got divorced and with his communication skills he got custody. She was totally nuts

31:40 the way she answers the question if she killed the man, she obviously wants everyone to think it was her. I think the sisters were both in it together and the plan was to create doubt that Piper did it. Just one juror who'd think maybe it was the sister would be enough

I wouldn't have been able to live by her sister either! The sister thing is weird, almost like her sister wanted her for herself.

That sibling dependency is very common in military families as a result of the constant change of stations...every 2-3 years, families get sent somewhere else.

The big sister is nothing but trouble! Super manipulative! Both sisters have huge issues. It is very hard for a dad to get full custody. His attorney had to have very solid proof that she wasnt fit to have sole custody of her kids!

I remember this from back in the day.. Piper left a mountain of evidence.. the jury came back quick.. from what I recall the sister loaned her her ID and was actually the one who visited the attorney that day (wearing a brown wig) smh two peas in a noxious pod.

48 Hours is an Excellent Crime Show, and Mr. Dow was one of my Favorites.

The sister acted like it was outrageous that she didn’t have a right to see Piper’s kids. Of course you don’t! There is no such thing as “aunt rights,” “grandparent rights” shouldn’t even be a thing.

Piper drove the cops to a lawyers office.. she definitely knew not to talk to the cops without a lawyer.. I don't think I would have been smart enough to lead a police chase to a lawyers office.. oh, and Tina definitely did it, can't even say "no" to the question? .. though it Could be both, since Piper is a lawyer.. if both have an alibi, even if a shaky one, the jurors can't blame either of them, Piper would know that..

Yo it’s not okay to sleep with your sibling as an adult. Even sister to sister…. Those days are over as an adult.

For all married women, never allow your sister/relative to dictate your marriage. Imagine Tina thought Fred wa "ugly". Really who does that? She was in no position to judge hers sisters choice. The sister was dumb enough to allow a family member destroy her perfect marriage . I will feel really sad if these two sisters were let free.

I can't imagine what his little cries must have sounded like. If he wasn't fed, I'm sure he was never rocked, cuddled, sung too.I can't imagine having a baby around and just not wanting to give him all the love in the world. I see a baby in the grocery store and i want to pick it up and cuddle it, who can deny a baby even the most basic care like feeding and changing. I just don't understand😥

The detectives who went to the airport to meet the flight must be the most stupid people on earth. To say it was too much trouble to stop every woman shows just how useless they were.

I am a woman, but when a woman is called out to the table of equality, we cry foul IMMEDIATELY. if Fred lost battle, she would GLADLY take his home, his money, car and kids. But as soon as ANY women is held accountable OH BOY! I don't understand it why is this happening? 😮 I am ashamed at this behavior.

Why didn’t the detectives at the airport just hold the line until every woman could be evaluated?

Well, obviously the ex-wife got convicted because of her shirt and doing a close-up, the interviewer being much farther away. It's just a matter of hearing the story of it.

It seems like piper didn’t become her own person she became her evil sister.. there’s something weird going on between them two!

19:11 if I was up in court and saw the judge bouncing a child on his lap I would be asking my brief to apply for a continuance. Appalling.

Due to my job I worked in a Lab from 5am to 2pm so I was home to meet the school bus as the kids came home from school. My husband who had an office at home ,got the kids on the school bus in the mornings. The school moms were weird that he was a school dad. During day camp in summer time , the mothers hung out because it was only 3 hours & no time to go all the way home and back. He worked on the laptop in his car ,the mothers called to police on him. It was ok for moms to hang out but not a man. My husband was very mad about this & made a complaint against them.

I enjoy and applaud you, young person. I'm sitting here on the verge of menopause, wondering how the years behind me might've been different if I were growing up now instead of in the 1980's. I read the HSP book many years before autism was ever suggested to me. I love how smart, quick, aware and confident you are.
