TWO YEARS IN THE MAKING - Episode 1 - Minecraft Modded (Vault Hunters) 

iskall: I'm going to use normal terrain, not sky island. Also iskall: Sky Island base?

Frankly, it would be really nice (pag even) if you could make a single video about "how to get started on Sky Vault" just to give an overview of the things that are different and how you would get started there. Because most of the rest of the game should be similar if not the same as normal world generation, a single video would probably suffice for that and the rest can be seen with this series here.

Iskall, if you’re panicking and don’t know what to throw out when looting, you can use your offhand as an extra space.

I can see iskall going to build his base on the sky island, he can make other little islands with bridges connecting them, making a cannon to fly out off, possibly utilising the Wind turbines so make it look like it’s flying but it can also be a power sauce as it’s high up the air.

I love Iskall's video cuts. Literally all "uhummm" "oooh" "aha!" Always here for it!

Honestly If Create Areonautics is 1.18 then and he goes with the sky base, it would be awesome for iskall to make a moving base.... Imagine all the biomes he would absorb just for vault rocks and to run vaults. Beware the Inevidable Iskallium Powered Flying Fortress

congrats iskall, this modpack that you and your team developed completely ruined vailla for me. its crazy how much is changed in the new version and i can see just how much time and effort you put into it. i never liked playing modded minecraft but you took it to an entirely new level, it feels like robbery that i can play this for free. cant wait for launch!

I’ve been watching all your VODs and I still loved the storytelling of this episode. My family loves all your videos. 3 amusing things 1. Once you talked about going to get a jam sandwich in a video - strawberry jam is now called iskall jam in our household 2. As you occasionally wash your eye in Streams my 4 year old want to know if that’s why you have an eye patch. 3. When we say goodbye to each other we say ‘see you dudes in the next epi-sode’ that how same 4 year old daughter said goodbye to me at preschool this morning.

iskall, I am still watching the 13 VOD of Vh season 3, and I don't know if you already did this, but you should blacklist soul shards in all your pouches, please is making me crazy xd.

Is your offhand slot only for shields in this modpack? Cause normally you can hold an extra stack of items in there, if you don't have a shield

I really love all the changes that were made with this new version. Theres SOO many quality of life improvements that span all levels of experience, from never having played to seasoned players. I loved your last series, but I think I'm even more excited about this one.

Re the lifetime of a wooden pickaxe - I always find it cathartic to use it as fuel for my first iron!

I intend to watch every video on the Vodskall channel, but it’s going to take a long time and I don’t think I’ll ever catch up to live 😂

Just note if you cant put in the command "/gamerule vaultCasualMode true" it means you didn't set "Allow cheats: ON" (It's off by default) when you made your world. Took me awhile to figure this out =/. Hope this helps.

Really love all the changes to the progression! The biggest gripe I had with the previous version was how much 'stuff' you had to do before beginning the proper progression in the modpack. The only thing I could recommend now would be a sort of tutorial vault? which you start the game inside of and have to escape. This could help introduce the player to a vault as a concept, health regen (or a lack of it, actually), fizzling mob spawners (and not fizzling ones), chest types and all of that. It could be not time limited and have basic loot (wooden tools and leather armor, lol) and weaker mobs, and it should probably be mostly scripted and optional at the start of the world creation (kinda like bonus chests are). The hardest thing would be deciding a means through which the introduction will take place, since I feel like you don't want a questbook or something similar to be a part of the Vault Hunters. The only thing that comes to mind for me is some kind of a Vault God Messenger.

Woo! I'm excited about this. I would also love a self-contained "Intro to Vault Hunters 1.18" video that I could learn all the basics and show friends, as even after watching your entire last series I still don't really understand a lot of how vault hunters works.

i love the longer vid! this modpack is definitely something i'm super stoked to play - the first minecraft dungeon crawling experience that really gets me excited!

I enjoy how he got the stuff to make a shulker box, but instead of actually making it, he struggled with inventory space for the rest of the vault

does someone know why he didnt craft a shulker box when dealing with inventory issues in the vault?

Amazing start, so excited for season two!!! Been watching the vods from the streams slow and steady too.

I can do Vaults without pushing to end vanilla stuff and grinding countless amounts of emeralds,gear etc? Heck yeah, can't wait for the release, coz tbh i tried 1.16 version but i really wanted to do the new stuff, and all the grind was way to tedious for me.

i'm only 20 minutes in and i discovered after years of minecraft that DOORS are the most powerful tool in the game.

My first 1.18 world spawned me really close to one of the new castle villages thats ALSO parked right on top of a massive 1.18 cave and a large tunnel system that goes all the way down to bedrock with a completely exposed mine shaft structure. Its a great start!

16:15 Anyone planned to create iskall "ugh" damage sound resource pack?

Have you ever thought about adding a protection potion? That way you could balance the numbers better and make it more transparent than the protection enchantment. I feel like it could help with running early vaults and early boss fights.

Love watching this series, I play on Xbox so I won't be able to play the mod pac but I have been watching you for a few years now and am looking forward to watching all the new episodes to come in 2023! Happy holidays and a lovely new year to you and yours Iskall!

I didn't watch a single second of season one, but this is very interesting. Adding what is basically a tarkov/loot and escape dimension to the game and totally overhauling progression to make it centric to that is super interesting. Even if I have no clue what's going on!

I would like to suggest a random chance for mobs/bosses to have either depth strides or frost walker.

This is amazing. Really love the changes, because now I feel like I can just play and have fun, instead of beat the game first. Also it doesn't seem so frantic when inside a vault, which is something that turned me off. I want a unique dungeon crawl with hard goals but loads of rewards. this is perfect

I really appreciate you adding the casual mode. I have multiple sclerosis and have memory problems along with cognitive problems. Sometimes I can’t always think three steps ahead and it gets me unalived and then I just get frustrated and can’t enjoy the game when I have to start all over. Just wanted to say thank you! From someone who was slightly frustrated in 1.16 VH.

At first I thought some of the changes were odd, and wouldn't work well but colour me surprised. I think with how it was explained, along with the changes all working in tandem, this version has easily surpassed the 1.16 one, especially the fact that people can play it more casually now. Great work Iskall and team!

So excited for this new version! Everything looks so polished and in my opinion more coherent with less of the modded blocks everywhere! The vaults feel amazing and terralith creates some incredible terrain! Very much looking forward to watching this season as well as playing!

Something is happening on CurseForge...Vault Hunters title has now changed to Vault Hunters - S1/S2

Tech advice, for dramatically increased performance I recommend a CPU upgrade to one of the new intel ones(Minecraft loves single core performance). I also noticed a lot of aliasing and temporal instability(shimmering in leaf blocks), you can fix this by going to shaders; selecting internal shaders; on the right change your render resolution to 2.0x. This shouldn't affect your performance as you have a pretty powerful GPU and it is prob being underutilized due to a CPU bottleneck, meaning your framerate should stay the same while dramatically increasing image quality.

The most important part of making a base in Minecraft is making sure the place is actually cool looking, instead of some random basic meadows or flat small mountain. Please make the cool big floating island your base. Oh well, guess the temple thing for the vault portal is cool.

R the volcanoes and mountains made of different blocks in the modded terrain, or is it still a composition of vanilla blocks

Is the off-hand blocked in this mod-pack? It seemed like you couldn't use it while looting.

I like how you took care of the regular trend of "Skip the common rooms, loot the good ones" by randomizing not only the generation of loot, but by partitioning it into different chests to make looting on the fly easier(because you can only loot the chests corresponding to the stuff you want, if you are that far into mid-game). It makes the game slightly more easy to adapt to.

Congrats on the release of the mod pack! My friends and family played together for about ten hours yesterday and we are looking forward to today. We ended the night with enough to craft up some Vaultars and hope to go into a Vault later today! Keep up the amazing work and k keep creating the amazing content. You are an omega entertainer!
