I got an IPL after watching your first video. I am happy with it, I do notice the hair grows back slower and is starting to not grow at all. But I do think 'you'll see results in 12 weeks' misleading. I've been doing it for a lot longer than 6 months and i dont think my hair growth has changed THAT much. But i am happy with the results i am seeing so I'll keep going- its better than shaving every other day.
@irismadeleine

I think it depends on your hair. I bought a similar IPL device and I noticed bald patches on my legs after 3-4 weeks, and they were more or less completely hair free after 12 weeks. The hair under my arms? Not so much. I could barely see a difference there after 12 weeks.

@@irismadeleine I have not heard of this device until this video. I am fair-skinned with green eyes, and blonde hair and my hair strands are super baby fine. So, I think I might see results a bit quicker than someone with much thicker hair strands. I'm seriously thinking of getting one of these.

I also tried this and it stopped hair growth for a month or so and it came back. So no, it won't make you hairless like a baby but at least the hair is slower to grow back and thinner. So it's worth getting if you can afford it but it's not a miracle machine.

I started out a hairy beast when I first got mine and even though I've been terrible with my consistency, there is a noticeable difference. My hair comes in less coarse, less thick and takes way longer to grow back. 100% recommend. Super easy to use, too.

It definitely works. I stopped using mine in the summer cause of constant sun exposure but I got far less hair growing on legs and thighs. Now when I shave I don't feel like my hairs are like velcro on clothes like before. I stopped around 7 weeks or so so I'm gonna have to try and make it to 12 this time then do it once a month or something like that after.

I bought my Kenzzi IPL after your first video, I used it consistently for 2 months and noticed a huge change, only had to shave once a week, hair wasn't as dark. I sadly stopped using it for about a year, but will be starting up again because I've noticed my hair growing back a little faster and darker again.

I have the Kenzzi. It definitely works. After a few weeks and months, hair grows back slower, thinner and patchier which you can easily camouflage with clothing until the regrowth gets slower and slower. It absolutely works, you just need to be patient and very consistent.

I've got really dark hair, used my IPL regularly for about a year. The thicker hair from the legs, bikini area almost disappeared. Like I had only a few here and there but I was confident to go out without shaving, they could be hardly seen. Became much lighter, thiner and SHORTer. Underarm is a different story though. Yes, there's less and finer hair, but stayed. Now as an experiment in the last 1,5 year I only used the device twice, and only now I started to see that I have a bit more hair on my legs than a year ago. Basically still almost hairless, but needs to shave once in a week. As for my case, it worked. Will do it for a few month again.

Listening to you talk about how this works, I wasn’t sure if I could use this. I remember that there is a laser treatment that works on dark skin now (I haven’t tried it, but I have heard people talk about it). And yes, according to the website, it won’t work for me. Maybe they’ll come up with one that works for everyone eventually.

I mean depending on how much hair you have épilation is about as low effort as this, at least for me. I’m watching this because I was trying see if there might be an even lower effort option for me long term. It seems like I would have the skin tone/hair colour for this, but honestly it seems like it would be more work than what I do now. For me at least I basically epilate once a week/ once every two weeks. I tend to do a sugar scrub the day before to expose any ingrown hairs (I have a lot of those genetically) and then it takes like 20 mins (usually less) to epilate my legs and underarms then I’m done. I like that when the hair grows back it’s not blunt like with shaving so it never feels scratchy, and when I’m not being lazy it takes very little time because I only need to catch the few hairs that grew that week (10-15 mins), if I’ve been growing my Forrest over the winter and haven’t bothered to epilate for a month or two then it takes 20-30 mins 😅. There is a pain factor to it, but you do get used to it, I’ve been epilating since I was like 14, I’ve only ever really shaved on vacations where it hasn’t been practical to bring my epilator. I mean really I would want to either be comfortable with my hair (which I tried, my husband and friends and job didn’t care, but I didn’t feel like myself and couldn’t get used to it even after like almost a year), but failing that for it to just not grow, but I’m never going to be able to afford salon hair removal that is permanent, so I’m just trying to find the easiest approach I can. I thought home IPL could be better than my current 15 mins a week epilator, but honestly it seems like more work than what I’m doing now so I think I’ll stick to that.

@WaterNai
@WaterNai Год назад
There are some that are less painful, but painful is still the operative word in that sentence. 😄 I usually recommend to people that if you wax, get waxed, and then maintain with the epilator, so that you’re not tweezing lots of hairs at once. Same with shaving-if you normally shave, shave really badly, and then finish the patchiness with the epilator and maintain from there. With epilating, you do get fewer hairs growing back, eventually, and that helps. It gets less painful, but it does always feel like tweezing, and certain areas, like the bikini line, are always painful/more sensitive.

I notice that the light window is smaller than the entire flat part that is against your skin. Is the light only hitting the skin directly under the light window, or is it hitting the entire area that the device is against? So when I move to a new spot how do I know exactly where to put the device? I hope this makes sense!

I have been contemplating this kind of device... epilating feels like torture and I haven't been able to get used to it. Literally covered in cold sweat and fingers &toes are like ice blocks from a shock response😂 Uncovered legs are not worth that pain. And shaving instead has to be done every single day - if I showed my legs/underarms every day. So even in summer I wear short sleeves and long socks; only the day after my bi/weekly shave I'm comfortable showing bare legs or underarms to strangers. Maybe I would go swimming elsewhere than the muddy family cottage lake if my leg hair stayed unnoticeable for more than a day after shaving😅 Shaving every day would take way too much time and effort, and would also irritate my skin. I tried a chemical hair removal product a few times, it didn't work. First time I let it be the max allowed time; removed maybe 5 hairs from my legs. Let it stay 3x longer; removed maybe every 5th hair. Too scary to keep letting it stay on that long regularly so I gave up on that. I gotta study how the IPL works with beauty marks ('moles' sounds awful🙃), I have quite a lot of them.... Very interesting device but pretty expensive if it ends up not removing my hairs, or being too painful, or needs a lot of space around beauty marks🤔 . . . 😂some of these comments here: body hair is not THAT noticeable (...sure, plenty of men have less noticeable leg hair than mine), once a week is SO often what's the point (the point is daily -> weekly), epilating is quicker than that (📌🔪🕯📍🗡🕎 the PAIIIIN), it wasn't even permanent (neither is epilating, or sugaring, or waxing, or shaving; all cost money and time, whether at home or in a salon)
@Loepsie
@Loepsie Год назад
I have lots of beauty marks myself, it hasn't been a problem for me in using this device but when I had laser hair removal at a salon, the lady would cover them with a white eyeliner pencil. Both IPL and laser work through contrast, so covering the dark mark with white solves that :) I just go over my light ones with the IPL though. It sounds like you could benefit a lot from something like this! Although if your hair growth is caused by PCOS, the IPL might not take. It tends to perform worse on hormonal hair growth, for some reason. But if that's not the case, it's worth a shot 😊 Keep it up for longer than the 12 weeks if you don't notice results straight away. I'm a pretty hairy girl myself and it took a bit longer on me to really make a difference, but now I really only shave once a week :) Some people don't have to shave at all anymkre after using IPL, but I feel like those were never the "have to shave twice daily" people to begin with 🙈 Good luck!

You are fortunate to have to shave so infrequently. I have coarse, quickly-growing, dark hair and have to shave every day if legs and underarms are showing. Being able to reduce that to once a week would be well worth it to me. I haven’t tried an IPL, but I do endure the discomfort of an epilator because it reduces the frequency of dealing with leg hair down to weekly maintenance.

This is a whole different discussion (that I was trying to avoid, haha), but while yes, it's absolutely not necessary, mandatory or required to shave, in my culture not shaving is still unconventional enough that it'll result in stares at best, comments if you're unlucky, or worse if someone decides to take out their bad mood on you for "standing out". I'm all for taking back the freedom to not shave (which everyone has!), but doing so does require a certain amount of thick skin in cultures where women are expected to not have body hair. I'm sure that this part of our culture will change at some point in the future as we're moving towards it already, and that is healthy and fantastic, but not all women want to or are able to be the ones to push that change. Not shaving is a valid choice, shaving out of personal preference is a valid choice, and shaving to conform is also a valid choice. ♥
