TWRP - The Eve of the War (feat. Dan Avidan) 

Honestly, I always thought Dan would be perfect for Thunderchild. This makes me happy. Can we pleeeeease petition for a full album cover??

Today I said goodbye to my dad, I still have his original album of War of the worlds and was one the many things we both loved, so thank you for this, it managed to put a smile on my face.

I can’t describe how awesome this is to hear. I remember listening to this record of my Dads when I was 5-6 and being absolutely captivated. Now I’m an adult and having the exact same reaction. You guys are incredible, thank you so much. You deserve all the love and praise you ever receive. TWRP❤️

Dear God. I am praying that Dan is involved with a cover of Forever Autumn eventually, this is amazing!

One of those things where I am someone who says don't touch the original, you can only ruin it. You guys made me take back those words. This funky version definitely slaps! That bass is epic. You guys are so fucking underrated, it's criminal.

As someone who grew up hearing reruns of old radio dramas on a local station, this was both neat and a real banger.

My dad introduced me to the original when I was a kid and I fell in love. This cover has brought me so much joy and I got to see it live, albeit without Dan. Made me cry.

I have always been impressed by Danny's talent and skill at singing but he has been outdoing himself in recent years.

Hearing this live at the beginning of the Brighton concert was absolutely fantastic.

I can't describe the depth of meaning this album has for my childhood. Dan, TWRP...PLEASE...do a remaster of this work.

The original is one of my mom’s favorite albums and when I saw this I had to share it with her immediately. Simon has the exact same sense of gravitas and mystery as Richard's original and I love him as the narrator; the instrumentation, relying on the groovy bass and using the electric guitar on the refrain, improves on Wayne's original composition. We both loved dancing along to this, even in her old age--and with bellies full of thanksgiving turkey! I hope more comes soon…a version of Thunderchild would be divine!

This is one of my FAVORITE concept albums of the 70s. I grew up listening to this over and over with my dad, and this is an AMAZING thing to hear from 2 of my favorite artists!

this song got me obsessed, i read the book from the library, absolutely amazing, i listened to the 1938 radio broadcast, incredible, and then finally the original Jeff Wayne album. all of it was an amazing experience, thank you TWRP for introducing me to this incredible genre-defining story

This was my childhood Long car trips had a mix of this entire cassette, Queen's greatest hits, and 'Yes What' 10/10 would listen to the whole cassette redone TWRP style

This is phenomenal and makes me reminiscent of shows long past like Star Blazers, Twilight Zone, And so on. The style is so perfectly replicated and yet wholly unique at the same time. Perfect.

I remember listening to this as a kid with my dad and being absolutely terrified of the album art. To this day War of the Worlds is a favorite and I talk to my dad about this album every so often. Honestly never thought I'd like to hear a cover of it but here I am jamming out. I love it.

I was able to see both Jeff Wayne performing War of the Worlds with a live orchestra, and TWRP singing this among other songs, this very same year. Both in Manchester. Good Times had by all! Great song, great cover.

I love the War of the Worlds!!! Read the book recently while in Mexico, and a few years ago in high school, I participated in a radio version of it written by Orson Welles. I was the news reporter on the radio. Super cool, love receiving this on this fine Halloween day.

There was one song in the New and Improved album I felt didn't have replayability because it was just a guy speaking over music (Reentry ft Chris Hadfield). I still feel this way, maybe I'll be ready to relisten to it sometime in the near future. This song is so wildly different and piques my curiosity and wonder so much that I could listen to it forever. I never had this tape everyone else seems to have had, but it still instills nostalgia and child-like joy. Thank you so much for existing, TWRP, and being here for us. You have brightened my day countless amounts of times and I'm so grateful you exist.

I knew Dan did the vocals in this. I knew he was going to do the 'The chances of anything coming from Mars are a million to one' line. I could imagine it vividly long before the song got there. And it still caught me off guard. Amazing. Such a perfect cover of what was already one of my favorite works.

I hope they have a song on the HMS Thunderchild, could be one hell of a banger just by the name alone.
