Benny P sits behind the vise and ties his version of a golden stonefly nymph with lively legz. This is a proven pattern and is a big fish catcher due to the size of the fly which offers a nice size meal to a fish.
Your Lively legs nymphs are awesome fish catchers very satisfied with them...one small issue was short strikes remedied by trimming antennae and tails very slightly thank you for your tying videos very concise and informative
this fly is bad ass!!! got my supplies yesterday guys! thanks alot. anybody out there needing good fly tying materials and good customer support? give these fellas a shout and they will take care of you lickety split!!! i am going to attempty this one. never knew how to do these wing cases. but you made it easy for me to understand how it's done. thanks again!!!
Hi to the guys from lively legs this is Harold Reid .I have some of your lively legs tying up a lot different Flys they all look good.l can't wait to fish them thank you guys great product.
Awesome tie Benny, well done,it looks so realistic and i am sure it works very well. We have tied few nymphs with lively legz and lost few fish as they hit the nymph so hard and run so fast it has become very hard to control and land the trouts. And a couple we landed we did not have the camera. One thing for sure is that all the fish they took the nymphs were in a big fish class and that is for New Zealand fish and all would have been on 6 to 8 pounders. I think it is because the use of lively legz make the nymphs so realistic that surprises the fish and they run like hell!!What ever it is the lively legz works well.
waikarimoana Thanks Tony! We are having great success on the nymphs with Lively Legz. Mike just caught a big tiger trout on this nymph. Go to facebook, Living4theoutdoors and check it out along with our other outdoor activities. Hope to see you all in your homeland someday.
Jeremy Gohn Thanks Jeremy and that would be great, shoot me a message through facebook when you are going to buffalo and I'll try to meet you out there this year.
I have been to the lively legz website looking to buy only the legs, not a whole fly but I am only finding whole flies for sale. Where can I get a pack of legs?
Jim Misiura Thanks Jim, It was my first ever tying video. I hope to do some more in the future. Thanks for all the tips and help over the last few years. ~Benny P~
+Paul Pochak Not really sure where I got it Paul. I get lots of supplies from our local shop and online both. Hopefully we will be selling them at Lively Legz in the next year. We are starting to expand and are going to start offering more and more fly fishing needs in the future. Best of luck to you on the water.
We like them in our Lively Legz 573 hook sizes 12 and 10. Check the hooks out on our website livelylegz.com. All the best to you as you get out on the water.
I hate you. LOL...............No I really don't, but I wish to God that I could tie a fly like that. I suck at tying nymphs but I can make great looking woolly buggers. That's my bread and butter for trout.
Thanks Mo and we wish you all the best this season. We sell these nymphs ready to go if you ever need any so keep that in mind and we wish you all the best.
