1. Choose a tie of the correct length.
2. Hold tie with the front of the tie facing your body
3. Measure the appropriate length of the tie, so that the tie’s point is just above the zipper area of your pants, pinching a portion of the tie slightly above the center of your neck.
4. Hold your hand that is not pinching the tie at mid-chest height in front of you. Your fingers and wrist should remain straight, and your thumb should point straight up.
5. Fold the tie over your open hand at the ‘pinch-point’.
6. Flip the tail-end of the tie over your hand loosely.
7. Repeat step 6, ensuring that the tail of the tie is dangling down loosely.
8. Pinch the set of doubled loops that have been created using the raised thumb of your hand over which the tie is draped.
9. Using your free hand, grab the tie at the current pinch-point, maintaining the structure of the double loops created in steps 6 and 7.
10. Grabbing the loose loop created by the first loop, pull outward approximately 4 inches.
11. Drape the pulled loop from step 10 over the tie. This will create the tie’s knot.
12. Pull the remaining loop from the center of the hole, this will be the loop that goes around your neck.
13. Loosen the tie as necessary to fit over your head.
14. Fit the tie over your head and around your neck.
15. Adjust and straighten the tie and loop.
