I just love the snatchers!!! For me they cover the " missing link " between a pupae and a dry fly better than most patterns can. Greetings from ICELAND M8.
Just to let you know, This, was the only fly that enticed 6 hefty rainbows at our local urban lake 2 days ago, while others weren't doing too much. Not to brag, but i tried other colors, light brown and black, but the olive came through with aggressive takes--i was sure glad i had tied up a few--a most grateful thanks for your tying lessons! Davie. Just wanted to pass on a thank you. 5 years ago I started watching your videos to re acquaint myself with tying. This year I became associated with fulling mill. This wouldn't have been possible with out your help from watching your videos. Cheers again and tight lines 🏴🎣
Hi Conan, It's very kind of you to let me know that I have helped you become associated with Fulling Mill though it takes practice and dedication by yourself to do this so congratulations and well done to you..I'm proud to have been of some help to you.. All the very best Davie
Phenomenal pattern Davy ,I love snatchers as they are a get out of jail when all else fails pattern , Thanks for sharing the video ,first class as always and s as Tyler who has inspired thousands 👏👏
Excellent explanation of hook weights and hackles for different purposes! Plus a fine pattern to boot! That sure looks like a deadly box of flys! Tight lines!
Tied to perfection as always Davie; and will always 'big this fly up' because it is a favourite of mine, and is one emerging fly that you are almost always likely (if not guaranteed) to catch on waters from small stillwaters to lakes. They are a very consistent catcher and for me the colours/sizes which have been most successful are black and brown in #14 and 12, but the olive is also a common insect in nature of course. Must go and have a look at the dun snatcher now!
Hi, I'm Ezequiel from PESCART Fly Fishing, I follow your RU-vid channel, I live in Brazil and I would like to share your videos with subtitles in Portuguese so that Brazilians can get to know your work! do you authorize Davie macphail? att Ezekiel
Hi Davie great we fly. I have seen some of your flies on eBay sadly always go for far more than I can afford 😞 do you sell flies at buy now prices anywhere? Crunchers statchers CDC shuttlecock s etc? Cheers
Hi I Believe, I'm sorry I stopped selling on ebay, but these actual flies plus others will be going into a draw to anyone that donates to my channel which is on my home page here on RU-vid which gives everyone a chance to own them..If you look in my community page you will see the boxes I have gave away over the last couple of months..This is what I am doing now instead of taking orders..Many thanks for asking.. All the very best Davie..
Hi Loyalist 1407, This is a good pattern throughout the summer months especially on the lochs though it would certainly fish well when spring olives are coming off...It would be worth trying for the grayling even with a bead on it if you need to get it down to the Grayling.. All the very best Davie
