A variation of the original Fire Cracker I shared last year. This one is smaller and less tying steps. It's a very simple pattern to tie up quick which I have used successfully fishing for zander, pike and big perch.
Material List:
Ahrex Trout Predator 610 1/0
GSP100 white
Kanekalon in silver (sub with SF Blend)
Silver Hedron Polar Flash
Angelina Fibre or Wing'n'flash in bronze and mirage
Veniard Glister Sparkle Dub in pearl
Hedron Strung Fuzzy Fibre in yellow and orange
Bigstreamers Nayat in Mackeral Green, silver, dark grey and white
8mm Tape eyes
Deercreek Fine Flex UV
Evostick Serious Glue
Liquid Fusion

Fabulous looking streamer! I kept on thinking "what's a tetra"? I get the neon color intensity. Then I looked it up, lol, it's a fish! Great job, it does look like a neon tetra! Thanks Paul for all the great patterns and instruction. Good health to you sir!

Very nice! Tied trout flys for years but my retirement looms and I'm looking to start chasing tarpons and reds. But, until then, I live in pike/bass country of northern MN. Can't wait to tie up some of these. Thanks for the materials list!

Hi Paul, thank you for another great video. You make tying a lot more easy for me. Many thanks for your tips. Great pattern by the way. I already make this articulated for the big ones. Greetings from Holland.

Excellent, profile and proportions pattern👌, water test would be awesome, is there any clip that I don’t know about? Thank you.

its very hard to show here how it swims, as the water clarity is not good, plus I fish on my own most of the time. Would need someone to follow with the camera.

Oh sorry, I know it’s not the same, I was thinking about a bucket full of water, a tub or a sink. Just witnessed those fibers move and interact with the hook shank once its fully wet will solve my doubts. Thank you for the quick response. Best Mag

@@SurfSkagit I hear what you are saying. Well I bought the Flymen tank, but it's taking a long time to get to me. Once it arrives no doubt I can get some footage in the tutorials. Been fishing this one over a year, and don't get many issues fouling. Very occasionally when playing a fish or crap cast.

What is the purpose of keeling the hook with lead wire ?
@paul_monaghan
@paul_monaghan 4 года назад
To prevent the fly spinning and ensure it swims hook down.

Its not actually a keel, its ballast. Slightly different principle.

Hey Paul, i am curious what other names for that tail material. I hear you say that isnt fair if you name a few...why is that? Also, i picked up some synthetic Yak hair and it looks exactly the same with the same kink in the hair! Just curious if the synthetic yak hair is a substitute for what you are using!
