He might. A lot of players taking one or two year deals because the cap is going to go up and salaries with it. I doubt he will resign too a lot of players leaving Canada not wanting anything to do with playing there. It took a no movement clause with a 4.75 mil bonus right up front which is nuts and it still only got them one year. Who isn’t going to take that deal? Great signing for them though.

I doubt that it's all about taxes or other long standing Canadian issues. They were talking about this on another video and one American said it was likely down to the Canadian government arresting peaceful protesters and seizing their assets without due process. He claimed Americans were aghast at that. I'd argue it so had to do with several Canadian responses to Covid such as closing the border even to unvaxxed children. These players are young and most have young children. Not being able to visit grandparents and family for 2 years unless you get the youngsters jabbed with an experimental gene therapy wouldn't fly with many. Now that more and more evidence is coming out about how they rigged the clinical trials, among other things, the arguing about the correctness of the responsive is over for anyone paying attention. Besides, if it was all about taxes you'd see movement even within the US.

One year deals are basically an audition. If you pass the audition, you get a long-term deal.

He aint gonna be heathy. When has he ever been healthy for an entire season. He signed for 1 year because he knows he's gonna be out for a chunk of it.
