In 2011, Shelley Mook was a 24 year old mom and teacher living in Shelbyville, TN. On the 28 February at about 3PM, Shelley was seen with her six year old daughter, Lilli, outside of her ex-husband’s house. But by 4:30PM that same afternoon she failed to meet with a handyman at her apartment as she had arranged. No one has heard from Shelley since.
The next day, with Lilli left in his care, Shelley’s ex-husband, Tyler Mook, reported her missing. A massive search effort was undertaken but yielded very little. Shelley could not be found. The only clue may be Shelley’s abandoned car, found the day following in field a half an hour away from Shelbyville. It had been intentionally set on fire.
In a deposition related to Lilli’s custody, Tyler utilised his 5th amendment right not to incriminate himself in response to over 150 questions. He was also caught in conversation about Shelley’s disappearance on a recorded phone call that he accidentally placed to 911.
But with no crime scene, no witnesses and no Shelley, the investigation stalled. Tyler moved to Florida. There he began a new relationship with young mother, Robin Doneth.
Robin is concerned when she learns of Tyler's suspicious past, but he manages to talk his way out of it. Unfortunately for Robin, she would learn the hard way that the suspicions placed on Tyler back in Tennessee may have been justified after all.

I will never understand why sentences for attempted murder doesn’t get the same sentences as murder. Just because the suspect “failed” at the murder, they are just as dangerous as perps who succeeded at killing their victim.
@WideAwakeHuman

Well probably because in this case it would be impossible to prove he would’ve actually killed her had the brother not intervened - since he could’ve just stopped at any point. Now let’s say her shoots her in the head and she miraculously survives? Then yeah, totally should get the same punishment as if he had succeeded

Attempted murder I’d say is just as deserving of a sentence of life as conspiracy to commit murder Especially when you consider ppl who pay/contract someone/others for murder get sentences of life even if the other person had no intention of following through &/or is an undercover agent

Quite often attempted murder has little chance of succeeding (vide that felon who jumped the lady judge in a full room; here its is in water with people around) so they kind of accept he would love to kill but at the same time it is silly, not fully serious (when attempt is serious the verdict is harsher!)

I live in Nashville and many years ago we had an attorney, Perry March, whose wife, Janet, went missing and it was suspected that he killed her. To get away from detectives who were asking him questions about his wife, he didn't just leave the state, he left the country! He moved to Mexico. His wife's body was never found but even without her body they had him extradited from Mexico and he was tried here in Nashville and was found guilty, and he has been in prison for a couple of decades now. Her body still had not been found. In this case about Tyler Mook, when he has served his time in prison and is released, his brother had better watch his back. If he was willing to murder Shelley because she "disrespected him" in front of his family, I cannot think that Tyler will let his brother prevent him from murdering a girl he had apparently decided to murder and then even go so far as to testify against him without trying to take some action against his brother. I think it's a very safe bet that he will be looking for a chance to harm his brother. BTW, kudos to the brother for doing the right thing and preventing the bad guy from harming someone even though the bad guy was his brother.
@kenkaniff8428
@kenkaniff8428 2 года назад
I tend to think he will be more aware and realize if he did anything to his brother he'd be the prime suspect and I also tend to believe he won't have all the anger he had in hime at the time his brother testified. He will have been in prison for at least 6-9 years by time he's released so I think he went through the anger process early in his incarceration. By time he's released I think he will have just accepted it and be glad it's over and just hope that the Tennessee case doesn't pop up in him. I'm sure he won't have contact with his brother but I don't believe he will be "after him" so to speak. Just my opinion. Doesn't mean it's true.

I remember when this happened as I live in TN and on our local news. T. Mook is evil to the core. Ive always thought 💭 T.Mook buried Shelly somewhere close by to the area where he burned her vehicle. ( IMHO he did) He probably drove her body in her car ,buried her body then lit the car on fire. I think then he walked back or called his parents ,maybe even hitchhiked. ( Parents more than likely) I've always wondered what his cell 📱 phone was doing and where it pinged during that time. I have so many questions. But I also think with his little girl statements about the drop off to be back with her mom that he left her in the car is when he murdered her mom. There is really good circumstantial evidence IMHO in this case. Tyler is the ONLY suspect. I believe a jury would definitely find him guilty. I wish the DA would just " go for it". It's obvious he killed Shelly so he wouldn't have to share the little girl and the fact that he's just a horrible subhuman to begin with. I hope her family / daughter gets some justice ⚖️ one day soon.

I want to tell Just Thought Lounge that your videos are so good in content and presentation but there’s another added value: you don’t run loud “dramatic” muzak through the story! Other channels ruin a story with nonstop loud music interspersing the dialogue, supposedly to highlight the drama. Your channel is my fav true crime one because you present the facts with no musical distractions and present the story calmly and in a pleasant voice. It counts a lot. Thank you.

The 911 oopsie is the craziest coincidental situation I can imagine. Assuming the call was truly a mistake you have one of two options. It happened at just the right moment, a billion to one odds, to overhear the incriminating discussion. Or Tyler talks about it non-stop all day everyday and the phone buttdialed and there you have it.

But totally been enjoying your videos!! This is another case I've never heard of. Amazing channel you've got here! EDIT: I'm back to finish the video. How TH does one butt-dial 911, of all people?!? And thanks for putting up subtitles on that of what you could decipher. I had no idea what they were saying, period.

This is why you "lock" your phone screen before putting it in your pocket. 99% of "old heads" I have seen will finish using their phone and with the screen illuminated they put it in their pocket. It's very easy to avoid but I know of many people who have done it.
