The judges overscored the 5.83 to make sure to give Tyler a chance. And the last wave should have been around 5-6pts. WSL was affraid of losing another champion. And what a shame it would have been to get cut off mid season😂😂😂😂
1st of all, congratulations to Tatiana Weston Webb for staying under the cutline because of her own skills. Taylor is a really good surfer..... she doesn´t need to be carryed like that. Ok fokes..... I think I will never watch the tour again...... it feels not good to me, anymore.
Webb like ... for real.. i thought that ride from Tyler was underscored personally, which only makes it harder for Webb swallow, 8.5 would have been a better outcome for both
WSL is destroying the surf show. STOP the bad judges, stop manipulation of results, fake shows without fair judgments, we can't watch it anymore. The worst busines ever, without dreams waves, weird cuts. Congrats for putting all talents and dedication of athletes on trash !!! Respect the fans, respect the athletes, respect the sport. Wright clearly won this heat. Webb, on her forehand, surfs with mostly her upper body. She surfs very flat, hops a lot, and has a really wide stance. She is also very front footed. Go watch Lindblad for a comparison -- Webb does not have that type of style or technique on her forehand. I agree with others that the scores are wonky here. Webb's scores were inflated by 1 - 1.5 points. Webb's 7.17 was at least 1.25 points too high -- if not more -- and that created the scale wherein Wright's best wave had to be higher than that 7.17. Wright's 7.38 was by far, not even close, the best wave of the heat -- and frankly far more than .21 points better than Webb's 7.17. However, Wright's wave deserved more of a 6.5 or so, like Webb's 7.17 should have been about a 5.5 - 5.8. Once you deal with the scale getting wonky due to Webb's over-score, the outcome is pretty clear. Wright's two waves, combined, were the best waves of the heat. I think those saying Webb won here are doing so more from a point of national pride, then objectivity.
