I’ve been prediabetic for a number of years now. The last five months or so been strict Keto diet and 16/8 fasting. I’ve finally gotten my A1C from 6.2 to 5.6. Now that I pretty much know what I can eat (doesn’t send my glucose sky high) I need to eat more of it to gain weight. :)

I am 25, since 21 I have diabetes type 1, it started suddenly with polyuria and polydipsia. I was already doing weight training, never took steroids or hormones, just some protein supplements here and there, generally good nutrition. My main diet is PROTEIN. And it does not affect at all my blood sugar levels. Except from milk, it needs some insulin. Carbs is the problem so I am trying to eat them very very carefully. For example. I did a full body workout today and before gym I checked my blood and I had low at 76. This is hypoglycemia for me and I am shaking. When I train I have to have higher than normal sugar levels cause the heavy weight training makes my body to inject insulin. So I ate a banana. I came home after gym and I had 245. Too much... If I had ate a little chocolate I would be better with lower level of blood sugar. Carbs are like Loki. Mischievous.

Love the channel and the theory. 24 years with diabetes. Fasting has been the only thing that worked for me. Monday Fast (from Sunday lunch or dinner) to Tuesday (lunch or dinner). Water and morning coffee. Then Thursday fast (Wednesday dinner to Friday dinner). This sounds impossible, especially to guys that got to have their cereal before bedtime or the power lifter trying to make gains by eating and gaining weight. The rest of the time, I eat lots of veggies and beans, no dairy, and weekend chicken and fish. On the weekends I enjoy good meals out but again no dairy. Results? No meds now going on 4 years. Well within the BMI. The BMI is real people; get there and you will see the difference in your health and functionality (you want to be the guy running to the front of the line, not the fat guys that are watching). 46 chest 31 waist. Shoulders for days At 54. Workout split: squats/Dead; Press and Incline Bench; Chins and TBar Row. But everyday during the day at work, as I walk to and from my desk, I workout with my Powerblock dumbbell Sets - 90s, 50s, 90 Kettlebell (more than just accessory exercises but powerlifters would call it a waste of time). I don’t rest my body and just veg out to grow the muscles and just rely on my split. I envision what farmers did everyday - lift, pull, push heavy things all day everyday to get farmer strong. The bigger and better ones did their chores and when they got home at night, did more (my workout split). I hope the next one in this series gets to the meat of it. Can’t give this a thumbs up, was too long But never a thumbs down. 👍. Love the channel.

It was definitely well worth it for people wanting to start learning about this issue, who have been brainwashed their entire life. Long and boring is sometimes appropriate. You obviously are aware of all this information. Many people are not, unfortunately. I had an aunt, long since dead, that had multiple amputations due to diabetes, at a younger age than I am now.

Mostly OMAD. Fasting actually made me try a lot and different foods. I lost weight and this is becoming part of my lifestyle. My relatives think that I am becoming something of an ascetic person or something. I'm just curious at the core. Always learning and improving. It seems more natural that way.
@lawrencehamm1478

I applaud your attitude. Sounds like me. OMAD works. People that do an OMAD will naturally improve their diet, because they won't be eating those high carb foods and processed sugar that causes insatiable cravings.

Thanks for reminding me of that function. There is an attorney on youtube, Viva Frei (or similar), who talks in 2X speed naturally. If you watch his videos, they are about 8 minutes, where some would have said the same in 15 minutes.

Lifestyle changes - fasting focused, changed macros to very low carb, lowered stress - modified my strength training and conditioning. Everyone is different so you have to experiment with what works best for you. I feel the best on a once a week 48 hour fast, then function on one meal a day, up my carbs a bit on weight training days. My eating window is less than one hour, so I am on a 23:1 ratio on feeding days. Fasting is the key. It took me over 1.5 years of experimenting with different protocols - Whole30, Ketogenic eating - when I started fasting regularly the fat melted right off my body and I kept my strength.

My doctor saw me after I did my LP and had gained 70lbs and he seemed terrified that I had the Beetus. I honestly wonder if I might be already pre-diabetic, since it runs in my family. I'm still somewhat young though. ..

Have your doctor pay close attention to your triglycerides while on the ketogenic diet. They can get way out of whack.

I'll be having a physical soon, so I am very curious what my levels are. I feel very good, and can see some areas of improvement physically, like weight loss, higher energy level, increased mental focus and much less water retention. Cutting out the crap food has made a tremendous difference.

I am actually really surprised why people don't really know what's really happening. Many doctors, here on the tubes have explained it in quite the detail. It's terribad. It's killing you, your family, your nation and all the convincing in the world wont work to stop that. I am about to see my relatives probably die because of their metabolic syndrome which is tied to insulin resistance to which they medicate with stuff that calcifies their blood system and they'll prolly die sooner.

Sully, I linked your videos on a forum full of physicians. I was trying to argue that the benefits of strength training are greater than the benefits of cardio. I mostly didn't win the argument and those physicians criticized your body type as soft and middle aged. Although I am on your side on the strength training and devote 70% of my fitness time to it, I thought it was a bit immature if not brutally honest of those physicians.

Just keep on lifting FOR STRENGTH.... if that doesn't stop diabetes, nothing will, I got the family history for it and so far in my research, Strength Training is the best PREVENTIVE medicine. Choosing the right weight to work with is key here... you must use the weight that allows you to do the reps and sets required for strength, and as you might already know it is sets of three to five reps, if you can do a sixth rep, you are not heavy enough, if you advance and have to do sets of three, and if you can do a fourth, you again are fooling yourself ----LIFT FOR STRENGTH. leave the small weights and high reps for the kids, I am 51 and can lift MORE than all the 20-35 kids in my gym.... they always ask me how I do it even though they see me busting my ass every workout, if they but notice how I add a few pounds every chance I get, they wouldn't have to ask. As Rip often says, this is hard shit to do, so we are not BROADcasting we are NARROWcasting. MOST PEOPLE AREN'T WILLING TO MAKE THESE SORTS OF EFFORTS, specially after 40, most people start for some incredibly stupid lazy reason to think of sitting on a fucking lazy chair and watch tv and that is their idea of a good life!! As far as the video, I could do without the history lesson, and see more of the RECENT studies on the subject as lifting is used to prevent or get people off meds who have this fucking disease. For people looking to evade it who gives a shit how it was discovered or cured in the past, or any other things about it in the past... we need good recent info.

I am well rebuked. I hang my head in shame. You've identified a need: videos that ONLY contain what interests YOU. Your mandate seems clear. I'm SO looking forward to YOUR contributions in this area.
@ggrthemostgodless8713
@ggrthemostgodless8713 5 лет назад
@@sullydawg Well Sr. ---- you are NOT rebuked, not at all, and those weren't "mandates", those two things were NOT the intention of my comment --and I apologise if my directness was offensive to you. My directness has often gotten me into these situations, where people I admire mistake my SUGGESTIONS of material I admire and obviously watched as anything else other than suggestions. I was also trying to encourage people to get on with it and get ahead of this problem by lifting like they mean it. I think I will abstain from commenting on future videos if this is the way my words are interpreted. Most people LIKE suggestions to improve material, but suggestions are opinions from one person, and of course I may be mistaken and the video is ok as it is. Great day Sr. Here's another expert on the carnivore diet and why is the most important macro.... from a Harvard world renown expert. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UR7H9xeMYME.html
