They are most likely using the C variant, which has APDS instead of APFSDS. But I could be wrong because I'm not sure if they still have the C variant in service.

@@yeetnoodle9668 All early versions of the Type 74 were modernized into at least the D variant in the late 80s, and since the show takes place in the early 2000s they are most definitely not C variants, meaning that the crews have full access to APDS, APFSDS, HEAT, and HESH shells. As such they are most likely shooting HESH for the majority of the conflict as there are few "Armored" targets.

@@doctorchaotic3415 Yeah, but generally speaking you wouldn't use main gun rounds against aircraft (with some exceptions, with the best of the best FCS systems you could do it, or you could go the soviet route and implement tube launched ATGMs), let alone something as maneuverable and unpredictable as a dragon, maybe the M2 on the roof? Plus, why would you use type 74's to engage dragons anyway? Dragons aren't going to do shit to RHA anyway, and it would make far more tactical sense to use them against ground targets (or even just run them over) than firing on dragons

If the ground is shaking because of multiple heavy vehicles are in the same place at the same time then the military would be banned from driving through city because it will risking damage to the building but then again it does not happen, only mother nature is strong enough to shake the ground which is known as Earthquake lol

Hmm yes the tank that is from the 70s that was considered obsolete upon release would definitely stack up well against a tank from the 90s. A more fair fight would be to bring a T-60 or T-72 in their early configurations.

Fun fact that screen is actually part of the night vision system, it basically is a huge infrared spotlight that lights up things for the night vision to see better while being completely invisible to the naked eye. The famous red eyes on the Russian T 90 are basically the same thing but for making guided missiles lose their lock.

Its a Type 74 MBT of the JGSDF, sporting a main 105mm gun. The Type 74G, from what i heard has much better abilities or enhanced.

no its not. Before the latest leopard versions came out, the Type 74 had better targeting system, flexibility, homogenous armor thickness, MPG. It isnt a copy, it's made to be better. also don't mix up the two: The stb-1 was the first prototype, and it never saw duty, it had issues, and only saw military parade. And after they remade it with improvements, they named it type 74. The chassis looks the same, but it's quite different.
