Did you make a mistake with Earth tems? at 6:25 you say it has 4 weaknesses, but it's actually listed as them having 4 resistances and only 3 weaknesses in the info graphics.

Yeah the graphics are the correct thing. It was updated to no longer be weak to air. It used to be 4 Weaknesses.

@@Krescentwolf As of last night I just got to the rock-hopping route and I am still running Saipat as a mainstay in my squad, yes. However, my particular Saipat I caught at almost all perfect IVs by complete chance - High 40s in everything except SPDEF, and a perfect 50 in something that I can't remember while at work right now; i think speed. I happened to catch him in Route 2 in the grass - so i've had him for a while, and he's still one of my best.

How I react to type doesn't matter, the problem is I don't know all Temtem's type. I don't know what is the type temtem that I face, I need to search it via google to see their type or just directly to know the weakness.

I think Temtem type matchups are really easy to understand. Electric is useful against water and mecha temtem but weak against crystal (because crystal is really resistant on eletric), and so forth. It's easier to keep in mind than Dragon is weak for Ice or poison is weak against psychic. Besides you're not rushed into too different temtem, you eventually learn to see how which work against whom, and catching them only helps seeing type matchups as you said before.

Neutral-Normal Fire-Fire Water-Water Nature-Grass Electric-Electric Earth-Ground Mental-Psychic Wind-Flying Digital-Digimon Melee-Fighting Crystal-that’s new Toxic-Poison They just changed the names of a lot of types as to not copy Pokémon too much.

You could possible equate digital to dragon since it's supposed to be rare and powerful, but is super effective against itself.

Crystal is basically rock type pokemon and digital is basically steel type pokemon but with more weaknesses

I really like how they simplified the typing rules compared to Pokemon to address how STAB could be so utterly overpowered. It also prevents the issue where build options became limited because of the dependence upon STAB to boost damage. This approach also addresses the issue with typing being utterly pointless against STAB special sweepers as what happened with Alakazam who could cause significant damage to a bulky Chansey with Psychic despite there being no type bonus. It's great that they also avoided redundant typing such as Water and Ice since many Pokemon veterans will recall how Ice became extremely niche for countering Dragon types and little else due to Water being superior in every other way. I'm not seeing any niche types here thankfully.

@Ramiro Rojo Since STAB is applied before typing you end up with it being a significant advantage in neutral or resistant match ups. For example, 100 fire damage without STAB against water is 50 damage ((100*0)0.5). But with STAB you get 75 ((100*1.5)0.5). It literally cuts the defensive type advantage in half! In a match up where you have STAB and a type advantage you go from 100 to 300 damage. Due to pokemon move sets that means almost all pokemon can do this and it makes the idea of a Pokémon without a STAB move a really bad idea thereby leading to less variety in builds. This is why pokemon matches can be so brief since any very effective attack is most likely to be STAB'd as well.

Um I spent a hour writing all the info on the type advantages but just realised his was 8 months ago is it still the same now I have finished it all tho I still need to write all the effective ineffectives resistant and weaknesses in another folder

Hi! I bought the game 2 days ago for my PS5 but I haven't played it yet... Because I don't want to have a bad experience with the game... Whats should I do? Should I wait unitl it is released on december 8 or try it with the bugs and all that.. I don't know what to do I really want to enjoy this game.

Needing a chart to build a team, or during battle, is pretty unintuitive.

It's there as a resource to learn the matchups. As you capture Temtem, the game recognizes their weaknesses from the data you collect and your selections actually change to show if things are weak or strong attacks. Having a chart handy never hurts!

@@LegacyGamingUS in game visualisation of that info is good, but so is not needing it much or at all. You still have to build teams, and I bet there's no handy in game system to help you do that well. Correct me if I'm wrong. In Kongai, they didn't need some crazy elemental chart to make a diverse range of characters and items for them.

@Sparka worked very well for Kongai. Intercepting was great. (if your opponent swaps put their character and you intercept, they take big damage. If they don't swap and you intercept, you miss and you're left open that turn.)
