Thumbs up when you weighed the flywheels. As a former motorcycle racer, and Honda factory trained mechanic, yours is the first channel where I’ve seen such focus on weight reduction in the drivetrain on a modern Honda. Well done!
Looks like others have already said it , but thank you so much ! I’ve had this in my head for a year now but I don’t have the funds or mechanical ability to be the test dummy for it ... much appreciated !
Nice videos and great idea on the lsd.. I've got a quick question I'm hoping you can help me with concerning accord clutch pedal height and also engagement point. My pedal and point seems a little high compared to my GTI, is the pedal adjustable? Thank you and thanks for the lsd idea and information.
Yes, it's possible. There is a company that requires you to send them your transmission, and they will install it in your auto. Company is called Traction Concepts
weather channel that's awesome I'm glad someone finally did it I was going to do it when I bought my 200 turbo Accord but and no one knew anything about it so I ended up buying the 10 speedwhich now sucks cuz now I'm thinking about trading it in to get the 6 speed manual how. Was the cost of the conversion. Also I bought a type r aluminum manifold they said I have to change the turbo to make it fit wondering if you knew anything about I just wanted it cuz the old better and I can polish it
Honda I hope your watching!!! You know car enthusiast also love accords. especially v6 exl trim!!! How about a turbo charged v6 3.5 liter. Probably never.
I drove both back to back to back to back. I just couldn't accept wind noise levels in the Si and how cheap it felt inside. The 2.0T 6MT might not have LSD but it's so much more of a car. It can be a nice touring car when you want it to be but also a blast to drive. The Si can only do the latter.
@@YasssStitch you prob just drove one with all seasons... Summer tires are better. The SI is literally silent. The Accord is awesome just didn't feel as sporty. The Civic was over all a bargain over the Accord and was more fun for me.
Hey wanted to let you know that I subscribed and that I appreciate you attempting the LSD on the Accord. I belong to a Facebook Accord group for 10th gen owners; we re all waiting to see your review or write up. Could you post me a list of everything needed to fo the LSD change in a 6sp manual Accord 2.0? Thanks
They used the fx100 aftermarket clutch kit with a lightweight flywheel, the type r diff, and the oil pump gear...might need new flywheel bolts. Look on a Honda part website for the part #'s...
So how did the car behave with the LSD vs without? how did the clutch feel vs stock? I am debating on an accord but open diff and sloppy shifter and no feedback clutch pedal is kind of steering me away
Pretty cool. Just picked up a 2020 EXL 2.0T myself. Guesstimate how much parts and labor would be? I’m way to far away for you guys to do it, I’m just putting out feelers. Sure looks like this setup with. Hondata tuner, and flex fuel conversion would make for a pretty quick Accord. All that power wouldn’t matter much with an open differential though. Probably couldn’t get that 1 tire to stick
Do you have a complete parts list including the blow off valve that you guys used in this video? when I come back from overseas I’m definitely getting this done.
Just did some digging on this. The LSD from the type R will directly fit onto the final drive gear of the Accord. You don't get CTR gears 1-4, but you don't need to change final gear, or the main shaft, or the oil pump gear.
Yes but to buy the TYPE R lsd it come with the Ring Gear. Cannot buy separately. So you will waste that part or go all the way. Technically we have better trans than FK8. Same gears 1-4 and faster 5th/6th gear than Type R. Using the FK8 Final Gear / Pinion with the Accord Trans 6spd
Question I have is can type R civic flywheel 2.0 fit on 2.0t accord ? I don’t want to screw with the feel too much, but I do want to lighten the flywheel on my 2018’ 10th gen accord 2.0t. I just want to get a bit more acceleration jump
Great Stuff Subscribed ~ Now would like to seen Stock Testing the New FX100 & Fly Wheel - First then the Tunes - but Hey Great Stuff ! ~ Love the Info on the Gearing ~ as I was Bitching about that Crap - Geared for 198 Mph is Never going to happen , so Now will have much more Usable Gearing & Still have OD - Dam Cool
Looks like they bought a Civic type R cover and bolted it down. It's basically the same engine www.kseriesparts.com/HON-12500-5BF-A01.html?gclid=Cj0KCQiA2vjuBRCqARIsAJL5a-LbD8qhmzRa66YSiCe8zVP5bC_dQu6SdCled-Qdp_Atn-ig-sGFuZsaAqHKEALw_wcB
Do the Type-R shifter components bolt onto the Accord? If not what can you upgrade to make it more like the Type-R? The stock shifter is just so vague. I saw the Type-R shift knob so I had to ask!
Troféo Tips yes we installed the type r shifter but it’s not perfect. The angle of the shifter touches the console plastic which ended up tearing a whole in our shift boot. But... the type r shifter is so much nicer than the accord
@@BalladeSports awesome.. I work for Honda, and found out the pistons are different on the type-r aswell. So was think maybe they're shaped different for this reason?
I kind of feel dumb asking this, but I'm a little bit new to Honda performance as I come from the diesel world, but can't seem to figure it out what exactly is it LSD? Thanks!
